The food was definitely good. Great would be debatable. Service was quick and friendly. I felt like the pork chop had a fair amount of fat to it. The chocolate cake left my palate confused: light without a strong chocolate flavor. I guess it's for some people, but each bite left me unsatisfied. Thought everything was reasonably priced. Will return, though, to try more of the menu.

July 29, 2021 - First time in Presque Isle, we took a chance at the Irish Setter Pub . . . Great Call ! I’d rate this a solid 4.5 experience, but loved the comedy show with a fun server ( thanks Laurie) !
Of course an Irish Pub should offer at least 4 or 5 authentic Irish beers. Strike #1, no Smithwick’s, but they had Red Higgins ! I liked the plethora of Irish family “code of arms” ( family crest) on the wall! We watched a bit of the Red Sox game on the TVs over the bar area.
The Irish Setter Pub offered up a few Irish staples such as shepherd’s pie, and fish & chips. . . which we enjoyed! The steak tips may not be Irish, but were tasty!
The joke we heard:
I guess there’s a nearby town called Jasper, and we were asked . . .
“How can you tell the difference between a moose , and a girl from Jasper?”
Response. . . “ Oh 50 pounds and a red Flannel shirt!”
Kudos to Debi & Sonny Gustin for their 15 years operating a fine Irish pub in Presque Isle!
Suggestion: Need more Irish beers !
( by the next time I visit)

So many great things here! Food is delicious and the Shepherds pie is so authentic I snapped a photo to my mum! Staff are friendly and sure can hustle when they need to but still make you feel taken care of. My favorite place to go while visiting Presque Isle, wish we had one just like it back home.
First off, nobody spoke Irish! That's fine, I can't speak Irish or Gaelic. Very busy on Friday nights. I am not certain if you need a mask. The young girl who greeted everyone who entered was busy doing two jobs, so seating people was a little slow. Seats are spread out so that slows things down a bit. I sat at the bar and service was still slow. The bartender, like the rest of the staff, were busy. All of the staff were husling. I ordered a ginger beer 🍻 and a dill chicken burger 🍔 with sweet potato fries. It was good.
Outside seating and Wifi available. Very loud inside. You may want to go early.
The food is always superb; unfortunately Smithwicks was not available on draft, but the substitute of Higgins Irish red filled the bill. My wife is still raving over the cod nuggets!
The service was excellent. The food was outstanding. I had Pub Royale burger. It was cooked to perfection.
I highly recommend going here.
Irish Setter has consistently good food. Best thing I've had is the shepherds pie. Recently they have been out of a lot (as have a number of places), but I'm sure that will get fixed. Friendly place, good atmosphere.
