It's been several years since I've been here. I went with friends the other day for both lunch and dinner. Both meals were really good. I was surprised at how good they were. Because of covid-19 the salad bar is minimal. It only has what looks like iceberg lettuce and several salads, so I passed on that. The Brookside omelet (I think that was the name) was really good. The 3 egg omelet was covered in a crab mixture like a crab cake and it was amazing. It's all covered in hollandaise sauce which is always good and they serve it with HASH BROWNS!!! Hard to find hash browns in our area. And they made them crispy just the way I love them. For dinner I shared a chicken salad wrap and sweet potato fries and they were both amazing. I'm very picky on my chicken salad and it was one of the best I've had. Wish I could order the chicken salad by the lb. I'll be coming back more often. Great service too. Probably helps that the group I was with, go there so much that they know all the servers by name. Feb 2022 - I got my husband hooked on coming every once in awhile. Great service and good food. Salad bar is full again. Creamy tomato soup is so good. Love the broccoli salad and cottage cheese on the salad bar. No more breakfast items all day. Chicken salad club was good. Their sweet potato fries are so good. Mother's Day 2022 - Chicken Brookside is really good along with Smoked Cheddar Potato soup on the salad bar. Kids loved the New York strip steak, crab cake, corn, and pineapple stuffing. Grandkids loved the cheeseburger and fries. Salad bar is still a fav of mine. Most people leave with half their meal to go. Servers are always so nice and do a great job. We were thankful to get reservations on such a busy day and thankfully they contained us with 3 little ones in a booth. Great job!!!

Brookside is a nice family restaurant that's been servicing the Pottstown area for years. They have good food at great prices. The staff is courteous and friendly. Both my parent's and my grandparent's generations frequented the restaurant before me, and I've continued patronizing ever since. You can find standard sit-down restaurant fare here with a respectable salad bar and no alcohol. The owners also engage in community enrichment with occasional fundraiser awareness and local event hosting.

The experience was great from the time we walked in until the time we left. Devyn made us feel like celebrities. I've traveled all over trying local food, both abroad and state side. In my 21 years of travel, she is definitely in my top three experiences from start to finish!! The food was great as well!

Great waitress. Eggs came over medium as ordered (99% of places just amke them over easy). But no buffet on Saturday morning when I was there an hour before it would allegedly end. Not sure the case. May be covid related but was not offered that option and ice was in buffet area. Maybe next time.

Clean and friendly. My sister in law meal was little salty. Came and corrected it. Gave her another choice. Glad to see the waitress didn't give and attitude about it. Very welcoming to her needs. Thanking her and her parents for that.

Sorry not sorry but I didn’t have a good experience here ,from the gossip about the restaurant that I was over hearing, I would of expected better. The server didn’t seem friendly , she didn’t state her name ,she was really blah about me and my father and I don’t think that’s fair. Regardless of where I go or what ethnicity , I am I expect to get treated like a human especially if I’m paying and I didn’t come off rude. Applebee’s , Chillis, Kings diner is more friendly and welcoming to all kind!!!!!! Y’all will never get my money again!!

First time here . The salad bar and soup was extremely clean and. Fresh . .i had the turkey over mashed potatoes with gravy . and string beans. Everything was hot and. Very good. Are waitresses maddy was extremely friendly and very kind. I will ask for her from now on .The coconut crusturd pie was so good. The crust the coconut beyond perfect. This restaurant should get more than 5 stars. I will be back. It taste like home cooking.

Don't do It!. My wife and I stopped here while on the road. What a mistake! I ordered Ham String Beans and Potatoes since it was a special for the day. The Ham was 1/4" cubes of what tasted like canned ham. The string beans were straight from the can. The potatoes were not completely cooked and tasted like dirt. The service was average.

Don't bother unless you are over 80!. The food is bland and the waitstaff is rude beyond belief! My family went there the other day for dinner and 1 out of 4 of us ate the entree...we asked the waitress to compensate for the gross food that was served and she came back with a bill for $55.00 for soup and salad for the four of us! We will not be back and word of mouth spreads in small towns!

The hostess Mary is the rudest person I have ever meet. If the Brookside diner doest won't to be in the same company as the Pottstown diner matbe she shouldn't act like she belongs there.

Salad bar is very fresh and well maintained. Senior portions are inexpensive. Good size portions. Food is good. Popular eating establishment.

Uncaring to disabled. I went to the restaurant at approx. 6:45pm, after rush hour with someone that was on a walker. The place was pretty empty and the hostess insisted we sit in a booth near the salad bar. There were at least 8 empty tables by the front door (which is also closest to the bathroom) We had three people in our party- and she insisted even though it was less walking for a person with a disability, it was reserved for parties of 4. I explained it was later, there were several empty tables but she wouldn't let us sit there. I asked for the manager and she said she would put us closer to the salad bar so it would be easier for a person with a walker to go to the salad bar (now think about that? how could they carry a dish while using a walker to walk?) <br/>She, the manager would also NOT allow us to sit closer to the door and bathrooms. I called the owner a day later to tell her what happened and she said she would check into it and never got back to me. I have seen this before here, but never expected they would not let someone handicapped sit by the door. Will not go back there again and what was worse, as I said we were leaving, the young hostess said fine, hope you enjoy your dinner tonight and began laughing with another young girl and the manager. do not recommend this place.

OK.... Food is diner style so have diner style expectations.. I do expect a decent diner to make certain things themselves but Brookside appears to buy everything pre-packaged prepackaged gravy, prepackaged soups... the easy stuff. It is however cheap and clean and better than any other diner in Pottstown but I've been to better diners in general so it is a thumbs down.
