Being from Texas I’m always looking for a good conversation and service. The Old European delivers on all fronts. I couldn’t really decide on what I wanted to start with first with the fresh squeezed OJ or the French press Brew. Lol I would have shared a photo of the food but I literally devoured it before I realized I needed a picture 😂 This restaurant really gave me a sense of home and safety. Everyone was smiling and comfortable and the staff really tied it all together. I look forward to breakfast here. (RIGHT OFF THE HIGHWAY!! You can’t miss it making trips to and through Post Falls.)

Old European never disappoints! If you leave hungry it’s your own fault. The portions are huge. I usually get at least two meals out of one. Today I had the goulash & French toast. I’ve had breakfast and lunch there before and it’s always wonderful! The wait staff is very friendly and kind. If there is a wait, it’s worth your time to be patient.

New favorite stop before heading to see my adult kids in WA State or upon my return! Excellent quality prepared meals & huge portions for a great price. Worth the wait if there is a wait. Awesome friendly staff & service! I will ensure I plan my trips in & out of WA State to include a stop in here from now on! Would also be a great spot to meet up with one of my adult kids between where I live & Spokane!

Still tasty, but far too expensive, and they’ve removed some of the best menu options. Service is good but doesn’t feel as friendly and family as before. And, while a small thing, charging customers a processing fee for the privilege of paying with a credit card just isn’t acceptable, at this or any other business, especially when I’m already paying $70 for two breakfasts. We’d love to be regulars here but moving forward, once a year is our limit.

Went to this restaurant with high hopes however I walked away very disappointed. After sitting down I waited and I waited for anyone to come by and take any type of drink order. After approximately 6-7 minutes of watching the service staff just mill around I finally flagged someone down and asked if We could get some coffee. After looking through the pricey menu we ordered our food. The waiter was less than friendly taking our orders and even less enthusiastic about maintaining the drinks. Obviously someone was not happy to be at work and it definitely showed. Received an omelette which looked very run of the mill and slapped together which was a surprise especially for a 16-17 dollar omelette. We actually finished our meal without the waiter ever coming back to ask if we needed anything or to check on our meal. Waiter finally came around and thumbed through his receipts while standing in front of us and then just walked away without saying a word. He then returned with the receipt in a little basket and literally dropped it in front of me on the table. We paid and left. Totally disappointed over a lackluster, expensive meal totaling almost 50 bucks and a waiter that definitely should find a new job.

The food was great. A little pricey, so we shared a meal. Waitresses looked like they hate their job, but anyone who deals with people directly as they do would feel the same. One thing that needs to be addressed is the waitresses' aprons, which were so filthy with food and whatever else they wiped on them, it was not what you want to look at when you're thinking about eating . It looked gross, and when she stood next to the table to take our order, it smelled so bad. So change those aprons. The restaurant needs updating to make it more inviting. The menu's need replaced as well. It was hard to see through the plastic when deciding what to order. The service was quick, and food was quality.

Great place to eat in the area. Wonderful people but most of all: delicious food. We tried the GULAŞ. I am from Europe, Romania, Transylvania, Arad county, border close to Hungary the home of the GULASH. I like to cook and I like to eat 😁. Every time I go home, I fly to Budapest, Hungary and in my way home I always stop to eat GULASH at this truck stop. They have the best gulas in the world. My mom used to make it all the time. My family makes it all the time. So I know a thing or too about GULAS. But the gulas I had here WAS NOT GULASH. I am sorry, but a gulas is a stew that has to have: onions, red peppers, pork or beef (plenty), potatoes, beans (multiple kinds) and lots of PAPRIKA, that gives it the taste, the arroma, it's like the cherry on top of a cake.
Other than this, I belive the restaurant is by far the best I ever had. Oh, and the Austrian coffee, half sweet, was delicious too.
Will definitely stop by anytime when in the area to eat here.

First time at this restaurant and we were looking for something unique and it certainly is. You get so much more food than you are expecting which is amazing so come on an super empty stomach. The Ables are to die for and presented beautifully. The sides are about a made course it themselves. The cinnamon rolls are ginormous. If you are looking for a delicious hot chocolate I would certainly order one here! Customer service was so amazing as well. The server was so informative on the restaurant history and all the food. As a first timer you get a little treat and the manager comes to check on you as well. Everything was superb and would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for friendly staff and large quality and quantity.
