RUN TO THIS PLACE! It is so delicious ! Everything about it is 10/10. Take the ferry from Portland to diamond cove. It’s a quick walk with beautiful views! The staff are great, super friendly and the food is to die for ! We got the scallops, burger, and delicious dessert! The inside of this restaurant is so cute, I love the flamingos 🦩

Great Visit
We had a perfect night dining at the Crown Jewel. The atmosphere was lively and comfortable, setting the tone for great conversation while drinking and dining with friends. Fun decor
The staff was welcoming and passionate. Chef Jef and his team put together a well-thought-out and exciting menu. The presentation was beautiful. Our group decided to share plates. We tried the mussels, the lobster arancini, the pork belly, the scallops, the deviled eggs, and the burger. We immediately knew from our first bites that we were in for more wow moments, with repeated oohs and ahhs.
....and there's a chef's table if you want to watch the action.
If you're looking for entertainment, you might want to grab a seat at the bar. I can only describe the Beverage Director, Jordan, like a mad scientist with an intense passion for his craft. He's also a fun guy to chat with. We appreciated how he intently described the cocktail we ordered, then showed us his infused vodka with lime leaf and coconut. The drink was lovely. Wine and beer lovers will not be disappointed with the menu.
All in all, we had a great night. Our group will be back to try round two!

Worth the trip. Food and drink are excellent. People giving the 2 star reviews are just idiots... they're just mad about the boat ride. It's well worth the boat ride - walk around the beautiful island, chill the F out, and eat some awesome food. You're on a friggin island dude c'mon.

This was the highlight of my family’s trip to Portland. It was easy to navigate to via the ferry, and the lobster yakitori, pickled mango, crab fried rice, and garlic shrimp (pictured) were incredible. Their seafood is really fresh and unique, all little shareable plates, and the experience was totally unforgettable. The music inside is a tad loud for my taste, but overall it’s a really fun and hip joint that’s majorly worth the trek.

Would love to come eat here. Looks like a great atmosphere and a great location. Unfortunately there is not a single vegan option on the menu. Pretty typical for Portland, but disappointing nonetheless. Oh well, maybe in the future the menu will become more versatile.

Decent enough experience but you get the vibe that this is a locals only spot. I ordered the tuna poke which had amazingly fresh ingredients, but was a little lacking in sauce for my personal liking. Drinks were decent, but perhaps a little too weak for the prices. Interior decor/food and drink presentation is top notch.

I rarely post a review but I do think it should be noted this restaurant is a bit overrated. Is hard to get there, the food is very limited and the prices are HIGH.
I would have felt better if there was options for vegans of celiac folk but not really. The only thing this restaurant has going is the atmosphere and I would skip it.

Dining at the Crown Jewel is a REQUIREMENT for anyone in/traveling to Portland, ME in the summer time. Most American cities have a handful of truly spectacular restaurants and Portland is no different. However, the Crown Jewel stands above the rest. The menu is so focused, that it is hard to go wrong however our personal favorites were the lobster arancini, oysters rockefeller and the crispy pork belly. The journey there, the unpretentious staff and truly spectacular food are reasons to RUN not walk to the Crown Jewel..... swimming might be an option as well?

This is a very welcomed addition to the island. The space is wonderfully laid out and designed and has a great energy and buzz to it. The food and drinks all jibe nicely with the Maine + summertime feel. We had delicious oysters, crudo, deviled eggs and more, plus the rum punch. Very reasonably priced when compared to other similar restaurants in Portland, and when you consider its on an island. I think the new owners knocked it out of the park with their execution and concept!

This is quite the find for such a small island. We loved everything we had. The bacon skewers were the best smoky, spicy, sweet thick cut pieces of bacon we’ve ever had. The butter poached lobster was perfection and the burger was outstanding. We made reservations for an additional night just to try more things on the menu.

It was a glorious summer day turning into a stunning evening and Casco Bay/Diamond Cove beckoned. Final destination: Crown Jewel. A leisurely ferry ride brought us steps from our first meal at DC's new restaurant. Tucked in along the path from the water you can't miss the little brick building with the big neon flamingo, over the bar, its light blazing through the front door, beckoning. A step inside, the atmosphere explodes and you are on a tropical island! The restaurant is alive...the bar is packed, tables filled with couples and families enjoying among other things fresh oysters, grilled oysters, ceviche, crudo, white fish, hamburgers and fries. Every single dish, all 6 courses, we ordered were all absolutely DELICIOUS and combined many unique ingredients and tastes. Save room for the brown bread dessert! Kudos to the kitchen, the waitstaff, and the owner!
