Everything was fantastic! The amethysos red was excellent. I love the slight mineral taste and tannins. The Keflag cheese is one of my favorites. It has a little funk like goat cheese. The moussaka is approved. Bachemel is creamy and eggplant tender and savory. Meat could have had a little more cinnamon. The cocktails looked great as well.

Cute little place with delicious food and excellent plating. Not a very wide variety, and they had duck on their menu but ran out, and waited until after we ordered it to tell us they ran out. Good wine selection, and the desserts are delicious.

Food was very delicious. The skordalia had a strong and delicious garlic flavor that tasted excellent with the beet salad. The loukaniko had a lighter flavor which was matched perfectly with the slight orange flavor; and the swordfish was juicy and tender.

Just fabulous! If you like lamb you will LOVE Emilitsa! Great food and very attentive wait staff. Was able to dine here without a reservation which was a bonus for us as we’ve been turned away in the past because they are normally packed. An absolute wonderful dining experience!
I also found them to be quite reasonably priced with other like local restaurants with similar qualities. If you’ve been on the fence, don’t hesitate to try Emilitsa, I can assure you that you won’t be disappointed.

Emilita is a small and cozy restaurant. They serve Greek and Greek inspired food and wine. Everything is a little different than we are used to but everything is great. We especially enjoyed the different flavors of wine.
The service is friendly and fast.

We have heard a lot about Emilitsa and our first visit confirmed what we have heard. Excellent!
Started off the Toukaniko app and a Domata Salada. Both were so good.
For dinner I had the Swordfish which came as a Kebob and was very tasty. She had the Vegetarian plate that she loved.
Our server, Vase P, was incredible. He is a pro.
We totally enjoyed this evening and the Baklava was the icing on the cake.
Bar prices were stiff, but that's the only negative.
We will be back.

Best Greek food I've ever had. I had the sliders as an appetizer and lamb chops as my entree and both were delicious. Beyond the food, the service was stellar as well. We booked a reservation for 4 originally and called ahead the day of to notify them a 5th was joining us and the owner who answered the phone very nicely accommodated us. He greeted us when we arrived and we were very well taken care of the rest of the night by our server, Marissa. She gave us great recommendations throughout the night and was very accommodating and helpful addressing the various questions and special requests we had. This place is no doubt 5 stars and I'd very happily come back for another meal when I return to Portland!

Wanted a cuisine my wife and I liked; but at a different place. Found this place while doing a Google search. It was rated quite high and after dining there last night we can understand why.
The selection of various plates, both appetizers and entries food was excellent both on presentation and tastes. The use of locally sourced products is quite appealing. I recommend this place to others.

Emilitsa is a gem tucked into a beautiful space. The dining room is intimate and inviting at the same time. Chef Niko and the kitchen staff create amazing dishes. We can't wait to go back!

Emilitsa is a fantastic place with the best Greek food. The Lamb was cooked to perfection and the cheese cake we had for desert was just as good!

Truly a great dining experience . Everything from the service to the meal exceeded our expectations. The duck was arguably the best I've had.

Only disappointment served here...with a side of attitude.
I'm truly astonished by all of these positive reviews as my experience was the total opposite.
With great enthusiasm we reserved dinner here, many weeks ago, for our 48 hour whirlwind trip to visit Maine.
Portland is my childhood hometown and I was coming in from Los Angeles.
Our hotel concierge originally called in to reserve our table as requested on a Monday evening, only to discover they were closed.
When I learned that Emilitsa was not open on the Monday we were scheduled to be in Maine, I rearranged our entire itinerary, including our flight, to dine with them when they reopened Tuesday.
Yes, our FLIGHT.
Why you may wonder? Many reasons.
For one, the reputation has been highly favorable as one of the best up and coming new eateries in Portland.
Two, I'm from one of the largest, and oldest, Greek families in Portland and was enthusiastic to learn that after my family's Greek restaurant closed some years ago, a new Greek place opened.
Three - I'm a foodie. A trained chef, a food writer and I travel the world reviewing restaurants.
We arrived for our reservation and were greeted warmly - both by our server and the inviting palette of autumn colors and ambient lighting.
We were seated at a lovely table in the window alcove which was cozy, intimate and truly comfortable.
Our server brought as a delicious fava bean starter, compliments of the chef.
From here, it went south.
My husband eats very simply - plain grilled fish without any alliums.
In our extensive global travels, never has this once been an issue that the chef couldn't accommodate.
When we mentioned this to our server, she seemed helpful and hopeful that the chef would easily be able to adjust.
However, soon thereafter, a second server appeared out of the blue and thus the downfall began.
Without expressing any level of interest in my husbands food needs, nor knowing any of the details, she immediately began the negative attitude of total unwillingness to even try.
The parade of 'No' began.
I suggested to both of these young women to just go ahead and ask the chef instead of assuming the worst.
They return, with an air of 'I told you so' and smugly indicated, no the chef would not accommodate.
Surprised by this sudden turn from kindness into unwillingness, we asked the manager to come over, still naively believing something could be done as there were many things on the menu he could eat, just without alliums.
I personally loved the menu and was very eager to dine.
The manager, now the 4th person to weigh in on this simple matter, came back with an impotent "No, sorry, the chef won't do it." We were then encouraged to go elsewhere. Which we did.
And yes, I did graciously express that we specifically came here from LA and took great effort on our part to dine with them. They could have cared less.
Here is what I envision could have made all the difference and perhaps the GM will read this review and train the personnel more effectively in the fine art of service.
To begin, an attitude of caring and willingness to find a solution would have been wonderful.
Next, imagining willingness to truly serve was present, it would have been appropriate for someone to take a moment and actually go over what my husband could eat on the menu and bring these various options to the chef, whom ideally would have the consideration and professionalism to prepare a simple dish.
For as warm as the appearances may have been, it was a truly chilly experience and a sour taste is all that remains.
I lived in Greece, I was raised Greek and this was the total opposite of Greek hospitality.
Get it together Emilitsa.

I ate there on Saturday night and was not disappointed,
The starters were wonderful and then the lamb chops were second to none. The dessert was again fantastic, I had the Greek version of cheese cake.......delicious.
The cocktails again perfect. i sat at the bar with two friends and the bartender took care of us beautifully.
I will be back!!!!!

At first felt a bit snobbish but the server was good and the food is worth it!!

Best Greek restaurant I have ever been to. Authentic tasting Greek food with a twist. Everything on the menu is wonderful as are the Regas brothers who run it.
