The Reuben was very good. Fries were fresh and crispy. Pleasant service, quick and yummy meal. Spent about $30 for 2 sandwiches and an ice cream cone.
Decent food.
Ordered the fish and chips, but they were out so I got chicken.
Also ordered the vegetable kabab.
The chicken tasted great and so did the fries. Not too greasy or over salted.
The kabab was very fresh, the saffron rice was more like just white rice with abit of flavored rice sprinkled on.
But was cooked and tasted good.
The kabab was covered in some orange sauce which tasted good, and the vegetables had a nice chare on them.
Overall good, but with the thick fatty sauce on the kabab and the fried chicken the meal was heavier then I was looking for, but 5 stars cause it did taste good.
Had the Reuben and the 'Famous' Gyro. Both were delicious and came with fries...hot and fresh. It's a unassuming place, and has 100+ beers to choose from... impressive. Staff was friendly and helpful as this was our first, and definitely not our last visit...thanks so much!
Decent atmosphere. Good music from the 70's. Clean tables and chairs. Large variety of beverages.
Quick stop-bottled drink choices.
Food was good, but not great. I had the Panini club. No panini grill, just toasted?
Not sure why? Wedge Fries were very good!
Desserts looked amazing. Lots of choices. Did not try them.
Great food. Had a french dip. Enjoyed the sandwich. Au jus could have been better. Would buy again. BLT had good quality bacon and was tasty. Nice young woman working behind the counter. Video poker is available here. Overall experience, above average. Stop by and check out SAMOS. :)
They have pretty good food for a decent price. I'm a fan of their reuben sandwich. Staff is very friendly and they offer seating indoors/outdoors. Lots of drink options in the store. I'm unsure if they sell milk/eggs/bread but that would be a plus if they did. I prefer to shop here vs pladdpantry
Had a great meal at Samo's Bistro; the Prescott Philly was great and the falafel sandwich was really tasty. Very friendly and quick service! Will be back again!
I wasn't expecting much for what looks like a corner store market but the kebab was really good and the customer service was great. I called and asked for my order to be ready at a specific time and it was ready and hot and delicious. Will definitely go back.
Nice neighborhood spot with good food, draft beer and a LARGE canned beer selection. Quick service and good prices will have me coming back
Called in a take out order. This sandwich place is tucked away. The sandwich was pretty good. Just what I'd expect from a pastrami. If I'm in Portland again I'd probably order it again. The fries were okay. The customer service was awesome.
Pet sitting my grand fur babies this weekend. My daughter referred me to a local spot for some good food. Samos. I had the fish sandwich to go. The bun was grilled but still soft. The fish was tasty, meaty and crispy. Sandwich was topped with a delicious, crunchy mildly sweet homemade coleslaw. Sammy made it home still hot, still crunchy and bun was still a bun (NOT mushy breadcrumbs). Steak fries, did I tell you it came with steak fries deelish.
Breakfast is next. Yum
I had been meaning to try this place for a while and finally wandered in. The food was great! The service was friendly and welcoming. There's a big screen TV for sports if you care, but it's easy to ignore if you wish. Atmosphere, casual and very clean! The menu is a nice combo of Middle Eastern favorites and American (go with the Middle Eastern, so delicious).
Sam is a wonderful host, chef and owner. He made us his newest creation: Spiced Humus...looks like a starfish, tastes heavenly. Gyros, kabobs, falafel, Greek salad and much more. .home made cheesecake, cookies and baklava of course. ...espresso, beer, wine and an ice cream counter...grab and go items too. Off the hook. His restaurant/deli has indoor and outdoor seating, lottery room and some TVs for watching sports. Don't miss out.
I really liked this small Bistro in NE Portland. This place is a restaurant, store; coffee and ice-cream shop at the same time. They have beer on tap and wine; Middle Eastern foods at affordable prices and desserts; full coffee and espresso Bar.
There's a nice common area with tables and TVs for lunch, dinner or just the occasional beer.
On the store side; they have ready-to-go entrées -so you have a freshly cooked meal-tonight they had Spaghetti with Carbonara sauce and Chicken and Rice entrés. For dessert: Baklava wedges, slices of German chocolate cake; Truffle, etc. A large selection of ice cream is available; but today is cold- so I went instead for a piece of Baklava; with an Americano.
For dinner, I got a couple of Kebabs to go. They came with a plentiful order of white and saffron Basmati rice, a generous side of toasted pita bread and that delicious Lebanese garlic sauce.
On the fridges you can find beer and wine: and their wine stock includes bottles from all around the wotld. It's my first time; but I am for sure coming back soon.
I don’t usually write reviews, but when I do, you know it’s a good one. This place is like entering somewhere like home, and offers such food that makes you feel at home. Sam is such a friendly person, when you walk in you know he’ll be happy to see you with a smile. I definitely always smile when I come here because they never seem to fail at making my delicious chicken clubs, and one of my other favorites the 72nd sandwich. Not to mention the great cakes as well. This place is truly a neighborhood gem.
The gyro was great and the service was amazing. The owner was super friendly and clearly enjoyed what he was doing.
I'll admit I was a bit hesitant after realizing that the restaurant is the back half of a convinence store, but all my worries went away when I got the food.
