Authentic American Chinese food! Reviewed by an American born Chinese. Food: It incorporates traditional Chinese flavors with an American twist. (Importing Chinese produce and ingredients back in the 20th century was difficult so immigrants adopted what they could find in America) Service: Chinese style Atmosphere: Dim lit retro cafe theme. Restaurant/lounge was kinda warm and not much air circulation. Price: American Chinese food at affordable prices $10-$15 range. Open late with many dish options Ordered the "special combo" that has sesame chicken, pork fried rice and chow mein.

Looks like a dive bar, but OMG the food is phenomenal. I highly recommend the Singapore Noodles. Just amazing food and a cozy relaxed atmosphere. Check them out. The owner is a great guy. So is his wonderful wife.

I only do the take out here because the food is good. Like Hung Far Low was before they left DT and then closed for good. Gosh, I miss that place, This comes very close! Prices are good and food is even better. I don’t even care that the place looks like trash. Every time I’ve ate here, it has been up to par. I’ve also only come at night when it’s dark and sketchy but for some reason I feel right at home picking up my delicious dinner.

Great atmosphere for hanging out with friends, eat and drink… I do agree with the description “Authentic American Chinese food”. It’s a little hidden gem in the area!

Great hospitality and service. They are keeping a Portland treasure alive! Go say hello, grab a drink, and soak in the history.

I ordered there last night on Grubhub and it was so good!!! I wasn’t expecting it to be cause I’ve never been there and it’s usually hit or midd and random Chinese food places but I was super lucky to have great food! There rice was probably the best rice I had in such a long time. Wish I would have gotten the generals but that’s what I’m getting next time!

#1 Chinese restaurant in Portland Oregon I'm so down to argue. It's been tasting the same since I was 5!

You can walk past this place all day long and not know it's there. But i promise it is. I feel it might be one of the only origanal remaining Chinese restaurants in China town. Its a bit dark but they have a great lunch menu and the food taste great! The lunch menu is cheap and you get a pretty hefty portion for the pice. Being around $6-8. I really do recommend eating here and keeping it alive in China town.

My wife and I stepped into a time warp last night. This Chinese dive bar called the Ming Lounge has been in continuous operation in Oldtown Portland for 99 years. If you make it past the army of street vagrants out front, inside you are immediately transported to an underworld with dimmed red lights, 70s fusion jazz and a storied reputation for wild characters and legendary setting. They even have a side room for penny slots and gambling. I am quite positive if you look up ‘seedy dive bar’ in the dictionary you will see a photo of this establishment. We ordered some food and it tasted amazing, service was good and this was the 2nd time I have visited. They even had a comedy show going on in a private back room no one knew even existed. Take a chance and visit this place frozen in time.

Favorite place in Portland. I am new here and have had the opportunity to visit many bars and the Ming is by far my favorite. Great music, very stylish and I have met amazing people there. The restaurant food is greasy, tasty and abundant.

A classic. You cant get this expirience anywhere else on the west side of town. Wonderful atmosphere, superb and friendly bartending, and excellent food. Every visit will be an expirience to remember. The most rock and roll Chinese Restaurent/venue/bar this side of the river.

If you're disappointed in anything about this restaurant you just don't understand the better days of Portland. If you know you know...

Great food, reasonable prices, generous portions, open late, and you can order through a third-party delivery service and have it brought to you. What more can I ask for? Staff is always courteous and gracious. Kind of in a sketchy area, with homeless camps up and down the road, but that's not their fault. Just lock your car and be aware of your surroundings going in and out of this place.

Food was excellent. They have the best shrimp in town. Service wasn't that good. Brought one item 10 minutes later brought something else out. all foods is supposed tobe served at the same time.

I read a lot of the reviews and it made me very curious I went with my significant other on my birthday and it was very interesting inside is very dimly lit it's like you're transported back into time it is 100 year old restaurant it was a really trippy experience the bartender Heather and her husband are awesome the food was absolutely fantastic and it was really cheap like we didn't pay hardly anything ,$27 total for two dinners and an appetizer!! I highly recommend it ,don't be afraid of the location just get yourself inside..You'll probably have a wait, we had about a half hour wait and nobody was in there ,but it was okay because it was all worth it.. Definitely recommend if you're an adventurous type of person❤️💯
