So good! We had the beet hummus with labneh, the chilled seared tuna, and the shakshuka! Plus the chili margarita and a cocktail made with beet juice and gin! Everything was AMAZING. The service was fast and our waiter was super nice. The cocktails were incredible and I was so glad I decided to get one instead of beer/wine. I've been to Shalom Y'all in Portland as well and Ray was just as good if not better! Definitely recommend it for a nice date night spot.

Dining at Ray restaurant is a delightful and delicious experience. I am thrilled that there is an Israeli food expression in Portland, OR and so thankful for a chef such as Jenn Louis who truly puts her heart on a plate. I’ve been frequenting this place lately and haven’t tried something where I literally haven’t thought that “this is the best _____ I’ve ever had!” I literally cried the first time I ate her Challah that was golden with the hue of tumeric and scattered with poppy seeds and sultanas. I highly recommend you visit Ray on a Friday night and order a loaf of challah for the table. You’ll be glad you did!

Dined at Ray with my family last night for the first time and I absolutely have found my new favorite Portland restaurant! Every single thing we ordered from small plates to desserts was phenomenal + beyond satisfying! It happened to be Wednesday and Israeli fried chicken was served—definitely teared up when I took my first bite because of how incredible it was! Our server was so kind and helpful, the atmosphere was comfortable, and Jenn Louis even popped over to our table to chat and thank us for coming! As someone who appreciates great food, good times, and even better vibes, you can bet that I’m a huge fan of this place! Ray is more than a place to dine—it’s an experience I’d recommend to all!

Everytime I come here the experience is outstanding. The food, the service, the atmosphere... all are first-rate. The lamb-burger and fried chicken are awesome, some of Portland's best. Great for a romantic night out or a celebration. I highly recommend reservations; Ray is amazing and Chef Jenn and her crew keep getting better and better.

Drum roll PLEASE, Ray Restaurant, an Israeli-inspired restaurant...WOW, would not be the proper proclamation sufficient of such a lovely dining experience each and every time we have been. The complexity of the amazing and vibrant spice(s) ensues a dance party on my palate each time. It was such an honor to finally meet Chef Jenn Louis. Chef Jenn has created a laid-back atmosphere indicative of inclusivity and a familial feel of feasting. Warm, inviting, intimate and a sexy ambiance which had me doing a dance party en route to the water closet because the music is spot on for happy feasting...true story!! The small plates are perfect for getting the right amount of flavors IN YOUR BELLY. From the olives, to brussel sprouts and hummus too...yummy! Make a reservation for dinner, Wednesday is Israeli Fried Chicken night...not to be missed! As a Southern girl, I know chicken. Make sure you add the Israeli salad with cucumber, cabbage, sumac and lemon...a great compliment to the seasonings in the chicken. Cheers to good eats!

Tried to eat here for Valentine's day (with reservation and set menu) sat for over an hour and only got an appetizer. Maybe they're better other times. Update: tried this place for a second time, it was amazing! Food was fantastic, service was great. I'm happy I gave it a second chance.

The first time we dined at Ray, we were so blown away by the vibrant food and uplifting atmosphere that we've made dining there a monthly ritual. The food is colorful and nourishing, hearty and light. The staff are attentive and warm. Jenn brings hope and unity through her vision for Ray.

This restaurant is one of Portlands best, and my favorite. The food is unique and amazing. I highly recommend the octopus, cabbage, and quail. I need to go back because there is so much more I’d like to try. We sat at the counter and able to talk to Jenn, who gave us insight and history on the food. We even walked out with spice blends and a cookbook. I’m hoping to go back soon!
