Thai food is my absolute favorite food, and Mae Ploy is probably my favorite Thai restaurant in Portland. With how many Thai restaurants there are in the city, that’s really saying something.
This joint consistently serves up food that is fresh, clean, and tasty as all get out. If that weren’t enough, the service is unbelievably friendly, and the space is cozy. If you’re enjoying a walk down Alberta, it’s hard to do better for lunch than Mae Ploy.

Mai Ploy is a great, local, small business Thai food restaurant. We love this place, the flavors in the food are the best, love the pad Thai, all the curries, fried rice and Tom Yum soups. Fast and friendly service at a reasonable price. Bar for cocktails, Thai iced tea is the best. Parking is free on the street.

I ordered the chicken pad Thai and it was delicious. The didn’t overload it with sauce, and for the price, the portions were extremely generous.

Perfect in every way. Meat is perfectly moist, flavors so fresh, and presentation is beautiful. It’s a steal of a value, all other Thai food in town is inferior. Definitely one of Portland’s best. Pad Ka Prow Bowl is 10/10 would eat everyday of my life.

Visiting for the first time and we were pleased to walk up to Mae Ploy. The Thai food was excellent! Pineapple fried rice was unique and delicipus, more than ample portion. We also enjoyed all the green plants. Service was excellent as well.

Great customer service. Clean place. Clean bathroom!!! - that is very important to me! (If place got not a clean bathroom imagine what's going on in the kitchen.)
Food is really good. I like them salad rolls with shrimp, peanut butter sauce was good. Chicken wings? - sauce was pretty tasty, chicken itself not great.
I would definitely come back and try something else... 😉👍

Friendly staff and the food was also tasty. As a typical basic customer I always try pad thai first. It was excellent, the best on the street. The staff was good with giving recommendations. I took take-out last time but will stay to check out the vibe the next time I go.

My partner had the pad Thai with a side of peanut sauce, and as unorthodox as that is , it was delicious too!

Fresh and delicious food --plenty of options. Great atmosphere inside with lots of light, plants and sweet objects. The service is excellent and it feels like you're in a very kind family's home. Sometimes there's a kid doing his homework at a table, and I love that. It seems like it's never too busy when I go in, so I feel comfortable and glad to dine inside, especially as the weather gets colder. They also have nice tables outside for warmer days. Ordering take out is always quick!

This is a small place and we were the first ones there at 5p. Service was quick and the server was very friendly. The presentation of the food was very nice and it was very good. I had the lemongrass pad thai and there was enough for me to take half of it home. My friend had yellow curry and she really enjoyed it. I would definitely go back. This restaurant has high reviews. Oh they also have tables outside in the front but right the Portland weather is too cold for that.

The food was amazing & the service was so good. The woman at the front was so sweet. The prices weren't bad at all & the mango sticky rice was to die for! I highly recommend this restaurant! I will be returning soon!

Sweet & spicy pad kee mow was delicious! Big serving and flavorful. Not too expensive. Gluten-free! I’m not mango curry expert but it was delicious & sweet.

I live an hour north, and you better believe every time I come to Portland I am stopping for some pad kee mow. I used to live on Alberta street and I had to put a limit on how often I was “allowed” to go in a month. Love this place! Always perfectly cooked and fresh! Customer service is always amazing!

I eat here all the time because the wait staff is so friendly and the curry is so delicious! I love the way they cook their meats & eggplants. These Thai spices creep up on you in the duration of the meal so you get that incredible mouthfeel.

Here's my review....
Ok so here it goes, I was walking down Alberta and came up to this place, food smelled great coming from the restaurant so I thought I would try it out. Sat down and looking over the menu and found the "lunch specials" so I ordered L17. The table next to me got their check and said to each other "hey our bill is wrong" and went in and asked the waitress, come to find out you have to read the fine print that the lunch specials are only weekdays not weekends.
So I waited to get my bill but asked for the menu again and that's how I found the fine print. I got my bill and was charged the dinner price.
Now when I was looking at the lunch specials and ordered the L17 why didn't the lady advise me that the lunch specials are weekdays only, she didn't. And when I looked at the menu for the item that ordered on the dinner page it was not labeled as L17.
It's a matter of consideration that you be honest to your customer and tell them that the menu I am looking at is only for the weekdays not weekends!
