Great outdoor area and amazing views, food is good and priced well, good happy hour too! It was very busy and service wasn't that great but servers were hustling their asses off and were apologetic and nice. We knew it was busy and weren't in a hurry so it didn't really impact our experience at all. We were just hanging out on the patio enjoying the great location! Highly recommend

We stopped for lunch on a weekday on our way for holiday shopping at Costco. My Small Nacho was one of the best I have ever had- and real cheese- 2 layers- hubby had the Sexyant burger and was impressed. Service was good. Very busy and you could tell a lot of businessmen on there lunch - a good sign. Can’t wait to go back! A lovely view also

The Sextant is a great place to enjoy a meal on the Columbia River. Great service, quality food and a exceptional River and Nautical environment. Lunch for 2 today with adult beverages and a good tip for less than 50 bucks.

The food was great at a competitive price. We had the cheeseburger and halibut Burger. The place is pretty busy, and the servers were quick and friendly. The view is wonderful, we wanted to eat outside but the wind was so strong that they had to temporarily close the patio. The only negative thing I can say is that the music was way too loud for the middle of the day. Other than that, we really like the place.

While I am not a local, I have been here 4 times in the last 3 months - always a great experience. I must admit every time I have had the salmon dinner, and every time it is fantastic. Fair priced wine, wonderful view and I have always had great service. I will continue to come back when I am in the Portland area!

Going to the Sextant was like going to Saltys with a 50% off coupon. Great view of the Colombia river, great food options including burgers, fish and salads, top notch table service. This is a 21+ establishment and it's awesome to have table service at a bar these days (most have gone to an order at the bar, take a number type system). We loved our table which featured a gorgeous view of the river. The food came out timely, hot and tasty! Great experience.

Delicious food at a reasonable price! Plus a great view of the river! I would definitely recommend this local place that has been there for decades.

The Sextant is bar and you should expect that when you go. The food has big portions and everything I have ordered is good. Did I mention the burgers and tots? 😋. I tend to fall back on my favorite which is the shrimp salad because it isn't served with little mushy pink salad shrimp. They serve the salad with a good portion of small shrimp that tastes fresh. The servers are quick, but sometimes you wait if they are really busy because they are working as fast and hard as they can. We have gone here often and will go back often.

Great location if you're looking for a place to eat/drink inside or outside on large patio overlooking the river. The downside is the frequent low flying airplane noise as they take off from closeby PDX airport. Makes conversation a little difficult at times. The chicken in the sandwich I ordered was very bland/tasteless. Fries were good. Staff was efficient and attentive. The simple cocktail I ordered arrived in a smaller than normal glass w/more ice than beverage. Large parking lot was about 1/3 full at 1pm on a Sat.

I went here on Thursday with a friend and met my old friend who WORKS there. Needless to say it was an amazing experience. Drinks are cheap and everyone... staff and the people eating/drinking are friendly. And the view....the view is the absolute most beautiful place to be with the sunset taking all the vibrations and setting with positivity.

Absolutely amazing food and Service is always awesome. Kara was our server and she did just great I would recommend the sextant to anyone. The homemade soup is by far the best especially Chicken Tortilla soup on Tuesday and the clam chowder on Friday and Saturday

Husband and I stopped by one random weeknight after work. He had the chicken strips basket and I had the garden burger. My “burger” definitely made it to my top three list of best vegetarian burgers I’ve had at a bar/restaurant. It was huge, was loaded with all the good stuff and was delish!! Our fries were crispy and perfect. Plus the view of the lights on the water was nice, too.

I almost don't want to rate this five stars because I want to keep it a secret. It is awesome it's more of like a boomer Hangout but everybody's welcome overlooking the water great patio great atmosphere pool table bartenders are amazing because they know how to make drinks and there's sassy and friendly they do seasonal drinks check out one of those I just tried the Grinch for Christmas and it was really interesting before that it was a Barry Martini of some sort no matter what try something you're going to love it the clam chowder and chili are both awesome

I decided to stop by this place because it was along the way and right next to the water. But where I expected overpriced overrated foods, I was much very surprised to get the opposite. My vegetarian girlfriend said garden burgers are usually not great but the one here is surprisingly good. I had the clam chowder where I’ve only had better in Boston. The fries are also perfectly crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. Back on the east coast this would cost around $35 but the two meals and side was only $20 for me, which I’d say is a steal for how good the meal was along with the lovely view of the coast. On top of that, the server was extremely friendly and attentive. Very much would recommend

I love this place. The drinks are amazing. We ordered Moscow mules, and they were some of the best I've had in Portland. The fresh ginger really gave it an extra boost. Our bartender was just so friendly and warm to talk to. Our server was attentive. Fish and chips tasted fresh and hot. I really liked that atmosphere and variety of people that go there too. There's anywhere from young couple's, to bar scene crowd, to older families and singles. I would definitely come back. The pictures I took of visually doesn't give justice to the scenery around this place. It was the perfect summer day!
