We ordered chips & guac, a cheese enchiladas with salsa de roja, and a spicy margarita. The chips and guac were good - warm chips, flavorful guac. The enchiladas were great! Perfect texture, perfectly meaty, the red sauce had tons of flavor, but the real star of the show was the RICE! Such bomb Mexican rice!! And the spicy margarita was properly spicy!! It tasted like pineapple jalapeño but without all the fake flavors. We loved it. Would recommend.

We had cheese enchiladas, chips and guac, and a spicy margarita and were pleasantly surprised! Good value and delicious food! The rice was INSANE. So flavorful! The enchilada roja was very good, and the guac was flavorful and well balanced. We’ll be back!

this little taqueria on SE Foster is a gem of a place. Great tacos and burritos, chips and guacamole/salsa, and beer & margaritas! Service is always quick and friendly, indoor and outdoor seating. Don’t forget to try their El Diablo sauce, it’s so tasty and hot af!

Amazing food at a good price, and it has great presentation! The staff are friendly and have a great sense of humor. I was smiling while eating. Drinks are well priced and super good. The decor and ambiance are great too, I regret not trying this place sooner! Highly recommend!

The food and the drinks are delicious and the portions are on the medium-large side. Great prices, great staff, and hilarious decor and signs everywhere. Idk why people are saying there’s no flavor in their food??? It’s all super flavorful and tastes fresh.

This is the only restaurant in town that I order from at least once a month. Food is always fresh and the portions are generous. The steak fajita burrito with a side of rice & beans is my go to almost every time. It’s enough food for 2 meals and it’s delicious! However, I’m determined to eventually try everything on the menu.

Not the first time I've been here, and definitely not the last so I figured I would finally give this place the rating it deserves. I've tried a few different things in here depending on how hungry I am. This time it was the carne asada torta, which ALWAYS hits the spot. Perfectly seasoned meat and crispy bread with veggies that pull it all together. I would also recommend the pozole verde with all the fixings. It's perfect for these cold winter days. Oh! And how could I forget my favorite snack, the jalapeño poppers! They're especially savory but not super spicy. Very tasty!!

Nayar has the best Mexican flavors in Portland. My partner and I have had at least a third of the menu, and we have never been disappointed. They almost always have mint on stock for truly incredible mojitos that will get you righteously toasted without the heavy sweets you typically expect with syrups and sugars. The staff is attentive and friendly, and the service is fast even when busy. The place is always clean, too. We purchase all our gift certificates for friends and professionals at Nayar, so they can experience the delicious haven it is. The restaurant has a lot of quirky, funny decor - whether you’re into that or not, that food will transcend you regardless. Lastly, they play music that will definitely set the tone for you - mostly Latin flavors (modern and classic), with the occasional random pop or rock hit. We are so grateful to have such an amazing local spot.

Pretty great. Certainly great food value and presentation for the price. Bit of an odd place ... not really comfy but definitely funny, tongue in cheek signage all over. but I would go back! Surprisingly serves booze.

Love the quirky atmosphere, with all the drinking posters. (And great margaritas, too.) Yummy tacos, with a filling for everyone (beef, chicken, fish, tofu, tempeh, even vegan filling.) Generous tacos; nice presentation. Just remember that when it says "Tinga" it means Chicken Tinga; it's not veggie (even though the menu just lists cheese and salsa.) This vegetarian was a little confused. Liked the red sauce; it had some heat! Too bad didn't have room to try some of the cheesecakes. Next time!

Dined in for dinner, showed up right after several take out orders had been received. Food took a while to come out but the flavors and taste were great. I appreciate the availability of take out ordering but at the cost of dine in orders coming out at a slow pace is a bit off-putting.

Great SE Taqueria in Portland with Excellent Customer Service! Stopped in and grabbed 2 Carne Asada Burritos - one with everything & the other with just meat, cheese & sour cream - SO GOOD!
We felt very welcomed & enjoyed the atmosphere! A definite MUST-TRY!

Incredible, authentic Mexican food. Birria tacos were unspeakably good. The drinks were excellent. We brought our daughter and she loved the food as well, was so welcomed by the staff. I was thrilled to find such delicious food, cocktails and a place that was welcoming to our little family. Thank you!

The food and the carnitas burrito 🌯, chile relleno, was so delicious 🤤they have Everything you could want and everything is home made and you can tell! Will absolutely come back with friends, I definitely recommend this place! The service was fast they were kind and their price was just right!

The blueberry lemonade margarita was delicious! Can't even taste the booze, the pineapple whipped margarita was delicious to. The barrira tacos are the best I've ever had!
