Very popular place even on a Wednesday afternoon. Great pizza! I've been going here since my boys were little. The pizza still the best in town. Charming old school atmosphere with music to match. For those who complained about the wait it's a self serve atmosphere. It's up to you to maintenance your order. Specially in the evening. If you don't like it go to a fu fu place where you don't get a good value.

We walked in, and the atmosphere was fun and historic. There were things all over the wall from all over the place at Verious times to history. The salad bar was exceptional. And when we got the pizza not only was it the perfect crust and the correct amount of cheese versus sauce and toppings. We were very very happy with our food and the place.

I've lived in Portland my whole life and this has always been a favorite place for pizza. The crust great and the toppings are generous. They have the best salad bar at a reasonable price.

Excellent pizza, great old atmosphere and friendly helpful staff. My number one goto for Pizza during my monthly trips to Portland. Oh and a great beer selection at a great price.

The staff is always friendly and upbeat! Everybody is knowledgeable about the menu, and I've yet to have a bad customer service experience. The pizza is always delicious and I'm a sucker for the breadsticks.

Best pizza in town!! Toppings are generous and the crust never gets soggy, it actually stays crisp, even cold!!

Solid pizza joint. Really enjoyed the crust. Had not been there for years after frequenting often as a kid. Still has the huge bear out front and same charm as always. 5 stars.

They have a wonderful salad bar and it includes a personal pan pizza with 3 toppings for around ten bucks. You just can't beat the price and it's a cute eclectic place to visit as well

My family, as well as many of my lifelong friends and their families have been coming here for more than 40 years. I myself have never had a bad experience here. From little league events as a child, to memorial gatherings as an aging adult I've laughed & cried here and have even crawled around under the tables. But it's the pizza that keeps me coming back. It's ALL about that cornmeal crust.

We were here to celebrate a birthday and the staff were slammed but still had great attitudes and the food was awesome! Definitely someplace I'd recommend to anyone in the Portland area!

My husband and I and our friends came here on a regular basis 45 years ago. The pizza was the best then and still is all these years later. We were in Portland for appointments yesterday and had lunch here. Love the atmosphere, and the service was great!

Pizza here is so yummy! The crispy crust and the insane amount of cheese with yummy sauce keep me coming back! (The salad bar is pretty good too) ...or maybe it's Fuzzy Wuzzy. 😂 I would have taken pics of the pizza, but we were all starving after moving and it disappeared so fast! 😂

Had my sisters baby shower here,we had the room on the side reserved so it was separate from the rest of the dining area pleanty of room for 30 people or more food and soda was great the service was good. I would recommend not only eating here but if you want a spot for a party or event that you need catering its here. Not expensive either totally worth it.

Great pizza! 1 of the best open salad bars ever. You don't have reach to get salad and stuff. Large glasses of soda. Really neat inside. Black booth comfortable luxurious seating. The bathroom will put you in the bar section, but youll find your way out.

I'm really picky about my pizza. This is the first place I've tried in Portland that is just wonderful. The food is great, service is great, and the atmosphere is classic and relaxed. I'll definitely be coming here more often!

This is my type of pizza! Thin Chicago style, cracker-cornmeal crust! Very good salad bar, pretty dark and dingy but I think that’s the old school Chicago bar feel from the 60s…

The taco pizza was super bland and the crust was like cardboard. Maybe it was just an off day, because the 4 meat pizza we also got was super tasty and crispy. Food was done quickly and the staff was super friendly. Oh and the garlic bread was amazing!

Just can’t get enough of this place! Hands down best pizza in Portland/WORLD! Ate half of the Washington pizza before I snapped the pic. Pepperoni, sausage, onion, black olive, and we substitute the mushrooms for fresh sliced tomatoes on the side. 😋

Old fashioned pizza parlor. It it was okay. I would have liked more help with how their menu worked, I felt rushed to choose when there was no one waiting. They have a nice salad bar. I wish there was better quality rootbeer. They have nice booths and a fireplace so this could be a good night out with friends. Overall not bad.

The pizza here is not the kind I like but I know everyone is different. The bottom crust is hard, crispy corn meal that is a medium thickness and has a goey top. I prefer a thin crust cooked through. That said the atmosphere is the fun pizza parlor type I grew up with in the 70s. They have a great fire pit and salad bar. Would come back for the salad.

We reserved their (party) room for a Birthday on Sunday 3/5/23. 30+ guests attended...they enjoyed the comfort, privacy, food and drinks. Plenty space for toddlers to run around, and stay safe and corralled. Warmth of the fireplace created a homelike ambiance. There are many events held at Stark Street, so make reservations months in advance. Staff were friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Food was great!
