Review Noho's Hawaiian Cafe - Portland

Is NoHo’s the best Hawaiian style food in Portland? No. Was it great? Yes. The short ribs were pretty good, a bit tough, they give you a ton, got it spicy but they weren’t at all. They are already well sauced and seasoned so don’t put more teriyaki sauce on them. Rice is a little gummy. The salad was good but no sesame dressing you usually find at Hawaiian restaurants. Mac salad was very good! Overall a must try.

We had such a wonderful time at Noho! Our server, Tina, was above and beyond amazing. She gave great menu suggestions and kept up with our very large group. The food was delicious!!!! Pictures are #7 - grilled spicy Korean chicken (it was so so good) and #16 tofu stir fry (it was good but better when we asked for the spicy samba sauce to put on it) Not pictured - veggie spring rolls (great!!), poke appetizer (wonderful, brought me back to Hawaii) and about 12 other entrees. No complaints, everything was delicious and the atmosphere outside was lovely. Live music, lots of natural greenery, a covered fire pit with seating, tiki torches - everything was beautiful! Thank for a wonderful dining experience.

Noho’s Hawaiian cafe is an amazing place. Super delicious Hawaiian food and I highly recommended it. I lived in Hawaii in Maui for a while and this right here is the real deal. It also seems to be run by a family so definitely cool to support.

The BEST Hawaiian food around by far!! They never disappoint and we keep going back for more! We get the #8 and #8special almost every time. One chicken baby! Try it and you’ll be hooked! Aloha 🤟

Absolutely phenomenal food, we got 2 regular size sampler platters, one beef and one pork, and the food was absolutely worth going back for

We showed up to pick up a catering order for a friend. No customers were in the restaurant as they had just opened. Not greeted. Then not greeted warmly. Then walking through the door closest to our vehicle with hot bins of food, told not to be there by one guy. Some aloha would go a long way. On the positive side, the food was either very hot or cold as it should be to serve right away. Good quantity and quality.

Absolutely traditional Hawaiian home style food! Monster portions, yakisoba noodles with veggies and shredded chicken, real chicken, the Mai-Tai drink, omg the best I've had! Highly recommend this fabulous place! Parking is a bit tight but worth it!

The best Hawaiin food I have ever had. The owner and operators are the kindest people. We got NoHo’s catering for our Law School, and they hooked it up. It is the best teriyaki chicken, mac salad, and beef you can have in Portland. Everyone enjoyed it and went back for seconds and thirds. Their house sauces are delicious as well. Not only do I recommend it, but you can’t go anywhere else for quality Hawaiian food. We will be back, and you have customers for life. Thank you so much for making our meal so special!

This restaurant was delicious! The ambience was amazing and the staff was so friendly. The coconut cake and piña colada was a great choice also, I would recommend this place 100%.

Service was good, there was a couple of bigger parties eating as the same time as us (4) food was delicious and portions were a good size, enough for leftovers with the medium/dinner sized plates. Food came out fast, and drinks were good also, well be returning on my next trip

So many people waiting for the Saturday dinner. The food came with big portions. They were all amazing. The Loco Moco was great and the gravy was delicious. I can just eat gravy and rice for the whole meal. The pork in the spring rolls was light salted and you can taste the textures. This is definitely a restaurant you should try.

Super friendly staff + big portions of food. Overall, flavor wise everything was alright, not the best I've had - but you definitely get a lot of food. The outdoor seating is also a nice ambience for a friendly get together (I didn't sit outside though). Calamari - wish it was crispier + inside not as chewy. Loved the tentacle pieces. Comes with a mayonnaise-type sauce that remind me of eating fish fry by the water. I loved dipping this in the sweet soy/teriyaki sauce provided at the table. Coconut shrimp - very good fry with a good complimentary sweet and sour sauce + can taste the coconut stronger than other coconut shrimps that I've had before. Average sized shrimp. Sweet Kalbi rib - tasted immensely better with the sweet soy/teriyaki sauce provided at the table. Chicken + Kalbi rib combo - I liked this kalbi more than the sweet version. Overdone a bit. Chicken reminded me of teriyaki chicken which I personally am not a big fan of (the younger one liked it though!) As for the mac - it was better for me once I added a bit of salt.

The food was delicious... They have very big options. I actually shared my plate with my fiance. The restaurant had indoor and outdoor seating. Very spacious. There were about 4 restrooms. The outdoor seating was very cute and lovely. Staff was very nice. We received our food very quickly, I was very impressed! Highly recommend.

Great food from top to bottom of the menu. The staff were very friendly and attentive. I do wish the spicy pan fried Korean chicken was a bit spicer but I wish that for most places. The ono chicken spring rolls were great and crunchy perfectly fried up. We’re blessed with many great Hawaiian eateries, this is one of the top.

Food is on point! I got the #14, ribs and teryaki beef. The small plate (menehune) was the perfect portion. I'm stuffed. It's about $5 more than what you'd expect to pay for a plate however it's worth every dollar. My total was $17.45, including 20% tip.

Nohos food, staff, and atmosphere is top notch. Best Hawaiian food in the state, and the owner Noho is one of the best human beings you will ever meet. He is the best this community has to offer. Such a giving heart.

Good food in Oregon. But our order got messed up. We were brought something different than what we ordered then they missed a plate. Until 5 minutes later we asked about the missing plate. Still took a while for the missing and wrong plate. But then everyone else was almost done with their food by the time the other two plates arrived. It wasn't busy. ???

Came in with a group of about 16 and waited the regular time it would take to cook amazing food for that many people. If your with a group, I would think you would socialize with one another before eating and be fine with the wait other than write a bad review about waiting for food for a group. All of our groups food came out together and we all ate dinner together. The staff was friendly and it felt like being at one of your families homes for a great meal. Very family friendly and a wonderful place to eat

This is a great place to meet friends and have a relaxed dining/social experience. If you have a larger crowd, as we have had every time I have been there, they have a side room where you can comfortably eat, drink, and chat without impacting other diners. Food is fresh and delicious. They have a good selection of wine and cocktails. Service is friendly and efficient, and finally it is affordable.

The best food!!!! Must have kahlua pork and macaroni salad. Can’t wait for warmer weather so we can sit outside and listen to the Hawaiian music.

The service was great. The food was delicious and very reasonable. We had a group of thirteen out on the patio. They moved umbrellas to help block the sun for our entire group. Several of us lingered after most had left and our server ( without us asking) brought us each a large glass of ice water.

Nohos is a great place for fun and great food. They have a great outdoor patio and plenty of space for large parties. We have had many family gatherings their.

Typically this place is a 5 star rating for me, the service is usually great and so is the food. However this evening was quite the opposite. We were seated promptly and served water. The restaurant was not overly busy. This was the problem, we waited with menus closed to notify our server we were ready to order. We sat for over 15 minutes being ignored while the server had a conversation with a gentleman about his trip to Hawaii. That's fine but she went back to the table again to carry on the conversation while we still waited. Meanwhile the couple next to use sat with no silverware and their order incorrect. We eventually got up and left and as we walked out and walked past the window leaving her conversation carried on without notice of us leaving. — feeling annoyed with Ashley Ann Hawkins at Noho's Hawaiian Cafe on Fremont.

Incredible mac salad, chicken and ribs!! I won't tell you how good their sauce is or you will try to take a bottle home! The Kona beer tops it off! Josh is a wonderful host and the servers are so nice! The patio is where it is at!

I love this place. I’ve been to both Portland locations. Food and service was stupendous at both!

Best Hawaiian food around and I LOVE the relaxed atmosphere. Sit outside on the back patio, order a Mai Tai and just relax while pretending you're on vacation.
