My neighborhood fave - I'm lucky enough to be able to walk here! Jumping late night atmosphere, I love that they serve food 'til the wee hours of the morning. Funky atmosphere, yummy food, a GREAT cocktail list. With so many PDX dining establishments folding, my fingers are crossed this gem stays put for many years to come.

Great spot, really really cool people running it. I went in to sell them beer and got a (much desired) 20 minute lesson about Scotch. Impactful that they would take the time to interact like that when they easily could have rushed our encounter along. I already liked the place, now I love it.

Found this place by accident and loved it, very quaint and whiskey and bourbon cocktails were yummy. Went back a couple of nights ago when I wad in town and introduced a friend to the place who is also from out of town. This will be my place to visit every time I'm in Portland. Will try the food next time!

So just to be clear this place isn't a hotel, it's a cocktail lounge with excellent food. Service is great and they have one of the if not the best burger in Portland. The spicy chicken sandwich is not fried but is delicious and made with chicken thighs I believe. Also the whisky selection is not only great but much much much cheaper than equivalent places around town.

The drinks here are creative and delightful, while not being wildly expensive. Adorable date joint, but it was good with a gang of friends too. Will definitely return.

Nice place. We only went to the bar. Service was good. Sadly, we got there a few minutes before last call (11:30pm). We had hoped to stay longer. We need to plan better in the future.

Always amazing cocktails. I've eaten here many times and tried most of the mains and many of the starters; everything is delicious. Great service. Outdoor seating is available (covered with heaters for cold times).

Hands DOWN the best cocktail bar in Portland and it's not even close! The food does not disappoint either! I'm stuffed!! These are the Aquarian on the left (Mezcal, Campari, lime, passionfruit, red tea syrup. Rock.) and the Dad’s Tai Tai on the right (Funky rums, pastis, root beer-oat orgeat, lime. Rocks). Both FANTASTICO!!! The steak, omG.. melts in your mouth! Honestly we try something new every time we go and they are all bangers! Go take a date here! Support this long-standing local (NOT-dive) swanky cocktail bar. It's a sure thing!

The Sapphire is (no pun intended) a true gem - we visit for a happy hour or dinner whenever we're in Portland. The staff are always wonderful, the menu is full of exciting drink choices and delicious food options. The interior styling is incredibly cozy, not over-lit and lots of dark wood and reds and browns. Eclectic crowd so everyone is welcome - a true Portland institution!

I a totally obsessed with their drink Dirty Lettuce, it makes me feel like I'm drinking something healthy whilst getting tipsy...I like to pair it with their Bacon Wrapped Dates, that I call "Meat Candy". The atmosphere is fantastic and the tables outside each have powerful heaters. A great spot for a date.

This swanky little spot is worth checking out. Diverse food options, lots of fun cocktails to choose from, and full table service. It gets packed so make a reservation or try your luck with open seating at the bar.

A great spot! The drinks were awesome (I highly recommend the Mezcal/pineapple drink!) and the food was decent! We got the pomodoro pasta, the beet burger and the polenta fries. The polenta Fries we’re awesome—I asked for the aioli on the side to dip because I didn’t care for the red sauce to dip them in, but they were tasty. The other two dishes were good—nothing super spectacular, but fine! The pasta had decent flavor although a touch boring overall. The burger had good flavor, but fell apart really easily. I think it’s because they make them in house—which is a big positive! The ambience and atmosphere were GREAT though. Very cozy, pretty dark, very comfortable. If the atmosphere and drinks weren’t how they were, I would have felt like I overpaid for pasta I could have made at home. But alas, it was a great overall experience and not overpriced. 4 stars (would have been 5 if the food was a touch tastier).

Wow. Everything was lovely. I tried five different cocktails (some were sips) and three appetizers. I was skeptical of the cocktail menu because everything sounded a little *too* inventive, but they were fantastic--original, unique, balanced and delicious. This is somewhere I would like to bring several guests for a special evening. I recommend it highly.

Best food I have had at a restaurant in over a year. Everything I ordered was top notch, even the drink I ordered was so good I asked the bartender for the recipe! It's called an Apricot Blonde and I had 3! The bacon wrapped goat cheese stuffed dates are worth the try and I ordered the best wedge salad I have ever had! The atmosphere was relaxing and they have both indoor and outdoor seating available. They open at 4:00 and when we got there around 4:30 it was Happy Hour. Definitely put this restaurant on your must try list.

This place is great! They have tasty food and cocktails, and the customer service is excellent. The atmosphere is amazing and makes excellent spot for a date. Also, rolling the dice take the pressure off when deciding what to taste.

Came here for NYE for the first time because they described anything thirty-something's dream: no cover, an early start time and vinyl DJ's. They didn't disappoint, it was the best start to a New Year I've had since...well, ever? The Sapphire Hotel is not a Hotel, let's get that right though. If you're curious where the name comes from, check out their website for a vibrant historical walk down a scandalous memory lane of old world Portland. Whether you're here for a date, or meeting a group of friends I have to recommend this spot for any reason... while I was drinking cocktails, the food did look delicious - so I'll be back as soon as possible!
