Review Sungari Pearl Restaurant - Portland

Well!!! Got to go there for dinner/happy hour. What a great place!! Awesome food and great service. The food was phenomenal. It’s not hardcore mainland Chinese but is more bistro/ gourmet that I love so much. The salt and pepper pork and salt and pepper calamari were over the top. Loved the Kungpao chix—as good as my favorite place. The spicy green beans and the crispy prawns were excellent. And an incredibly reasonable wine list with great selections. Chuck Wagner’s Conundrum white for $28 a bottle—an excellent wine with Chinese food. $7 a glass on happy hour. Don’t miss this!!!! Great service too! Left a 25% tip. I will call them about updating their hours. …and finally got to go. Don’t miss it. They really need to update their Google maps information. It said they were open 11 AM to 8 PM and when I called at 1:30 PM they said they were closed and not open till 5 PM. Kind of stinks! Was looking forward to this

Sungari Pearl is pretty tasty. The have a happy hour so you can order smaller plates without breaking the bank. The food is prepared with care and the staff are super nice.

Patrick, the bartender, was fantastic with helping me decide what to order! He advised me on spice and flavor levels, as well as on gluten free items for my celiac! The place is very clean and organized also, which is always a plus!

When I first entered I was greeted by a very friendly hostess- and I was impressed with the ambiance of the place. Very modern decor and setting, which was very fitting. I appreciated the fact they allowed me to bring in a birthday cake- in my haste I’d forgotten to check with them beforehand to see if this would be an issue. Luckily it was not and the hostess graciously and quickly offered to put it in the refrigerator while we had our dinner (my dinner date had already been waiting at our table). Our server was amazing. We were waited on by McKayla, who was extremely attentive and accommodating. She made sure we were well taken care of the entire time we were there. We arrived a little close to closing hour- about 1.5 hrs before to be exact, and never once did we feel rushed or hurried. Our food was delicious. The Mongolian beef was very tender and flavorful and the sesame chicken was sauced perfectly. Overall it was an extremely pleasant experience. And it was a wonderful way to end a fantastic trip to Portland. Recommended if you’re looking for a nice place, that isn’t pretentious and offers amazing service in a comfortable setting.

Sungari Pearl was outstanding! Nice upscale ambiance without the high prices. Charming server, quiet place, and great food and service. Highly recommend this place, particularly if you need gluten-free options, but you will not be sacrificing quality at all, this place has excellent food. Loved the fried rice, the sliced beef with scallions, and the chicken with white wine sauce. Every dish was flavorful, not overly salty, good portion sizes too.

The food was excellent with great service. Our appetizers came out with little to no wait time. I order salmon bites that were cooked to perfection and was tempted to order a second round. I will definitely return to this restaurant and recommend friends as well!

Had wonderful dinner with family who were visiting from out of town - the food was delicious (especially the General Tsao’s chicken and string beans) and the staff was very kind and accommodating. We called ahead to reserve a table since we needed a quieter table and were going to have a baby with us and they set us up in the back which was perfect. The staff were so sweet with the baby too :) Definitely recommend!

The food here is delicious! They have a tasty and affordable lunch menu and a lovely ambiance for dinner time. The dishes are really flavorful and the veggie sides are amazing. I particularly love the string beans; they're crunchy and coated in a yummy sauce. I love eating here!

It was good the fried rice is different its good though once i tried it with soy sauce. It was healthy though and flavorful but im not going lie my blood pressure didn't go up after my meal it was fried rice but healthy give it a try sometimes we are just afraid of change. 5 stars place was classy , price was good for a downtown area, food great and healthy , and great customer service!!!
