Chez Jose Mexican Cafe - Portland - Photo album

I would describe this as Portland's version of tex-mex. For example, I had the butternut squash enchilada plate and there was 10 different tequila's to choose from on the menu. It was very good evening.
We celebrated a milestone birthday for brunch with 19 people on Saturday December 16th. To Dan, Sheila, all chefs and staff who made it so nice - THANK YOU! The service was phenomenal 👏 (Sheila, you freaking rocked it girl!!!), food was perfect and delicious 😋 and everyone had a great time! Y'all a
We are in town for work and a friend brought us here for “the best” Mexican food! Chez Jose did not disappoint! We were greeted immediately and sat with in 5 minutes. The service was good from start to finish. We started with the fresh chips and salsa & a couple of the house cocktails. The server on
The food was delicious. My companion had fish tacos and I had the lime chicken enchilada and shredded chicken taco. Beans were delicious as well. I liked the hot salsa!
Chez Jose is the jam. Tasty and unique twists on the classics, I love the squash enchiladas and mezcal marg. The marg is no slouch... Packs a punch and tastes "homemade". The salsas are not at all what you would expect from a traditional Mexican restaurant but they are delicious! The staff is rad t
Heard about this place recently, with the re-opening, and so I came to try a new spot. SO happy that I did. Solid salas to start and a super delicious house margarita. The real stand out foodie winner is the Lime Chicken Enchiladas and Chilli Relleno! Must try!! Definitely coming back to try other
Love the lime chicken enchilada. Service over the phone and in person was great and friendly. Wish we had one in Vancouver. Will eat here again.
Great little hole in the wall place.. (As we all know those are the best) Friendly service and fast... Great flavors in the carne asada.. Large portions.... I had the blood orange margarita.. Was tasty... Slow period of the day when I was there. Bartender stood around a lot... Seemed to get busy a
The food was amazing and the portions were huge. The waitress was engaging and fun, we never had to wait long for anything we asked for. Would highly recommend!
I have been eating at Chez José since I was a wee pup. It's easy going, delicious Mexican food, where you can get your typical and expect anything on the menu to be more than what you expect. Family, localvore, and vegetarian friendly.
I have to say this was more than just brunch, the food eas delicious and atmosphere inviting. Service was prompt, and attentive. This was my first experience and I look forward to returning.
Wow, when we got to the table, the water 💦 was already there! So awesome! The lady was very cheerful. One of the salsas 🌶is warm and unique and really bomb!!! The peanut 🥜chicken🍗 dish - salsa de pollo de cachuate or something. Very different and huge portion!!! Leftovers all around!!! 🙌
Good solid food for decades! Carne asada plate, lime chicken enchiladas, and the best salsa!
As usual, good food and good service. I love a margarita made from scratch. Nice to be able to select portions of food, smaller portion/a la carte to keep the cost down a bit, or to have leftovers for another time. 😋
Part of 10. Received prompt service. We were able to enjoy our drinks before food arrived tasty and hot. Great kids menu. Matt kept our drinks refreshed. Excellent service without being intrusive. Perfect evening with family. Thank you Che, Jose and Matt.
Amazing food and big portions. I ordered a combo platter and my brother ordered the chimichanga dish. The chips and salsa aren't free but are cheap with free refills. We also ordered a spicy margarita that was delicious
Pretty good food. Fast and friendly staff. Chips and salsa cost $2.50, which is kind of lame. Pretty clean resteraunt
