Visited for Portland Restaurant Month and had the $33 per person menu. It was great and had a wonderful time with my wife there. Our waiter was great and the service was spot on. We went there on the early side, around 5pm since we had to get home by 7pm for the kids. We had the whole dining room to ourselves until around 6:20p. Will definitely be on my go to list again.

The place is in the lower $$$ price-point but it is THE PLACE for a date night or a special celebration. I did nit try their sushi but other entrees and appetizers were delicious. The drinks blue us away. Do try the cocktails!! Highly recommend!!
The ambience and service was nice. The only thing missing was deserts, they did not have a great desert variety.

Man, where do I start? Late dinner after flying in an hour before, we had Korean ribs, fall off the bone tender and flavorful ; chicken karaage tender and packed with flavor ; oxtail stew fun that was piping hot and tender oxtail; lobster curry so smooth, hint of citrus and a bite of spice ; pork sarong crunchy but tender; tapioca dumplings with a light, meaty surprise; peanut noodle salad so fresh and clean; Javanese salmon cooked perfectly. Service was attentive and wonderful. When are we coming back? Thanks so much for an amazing dinner!

We went on a Friday night in early September at 5 ish. The bar side of the saucebox and the sidewalk seating was nearly full when we started and the restaurant side filled as we ordered our appetizers. They were a little understaffed for the amount of business on a Friday night. We weren’t in any hurry until the street people started putting on a show and the bar patrons across the street started egging them on. The street people escalated and their unruly conduct and no one at the restaurant called the police. We enjoyed the food we ordered. The spicy char siu pork bao bun and the soft shell crab bao bun appetizer. The bao buns were perfect and the pickled veggies were spot on. The pork seasoning was more soy flavored and not as smooth as char siu bbq should be. The soft shell crab bao bun was good. The sauce was good but not spectacular as it looked. Both were served in steamer baskets and has a great presentation. I will be back to try other food hopefully with less street people interactions

Saucebox is divided in two sections, one with a darker bar/dining atmosphere with music and the next with a nice quieter dining room. The decorations and atmosphere were really nice and the food was fantastic as well. It may be a little pricey for sinner but they have excellent happy hour specials. I got the sampler plate which was the perfect amount of food for dinner. The tapioca dumplings were the best out of the plate. Such an interesting texture and such delicious filling!

Came here for a friend’s Birthday on a Thursday night. There weren’t many people here it is actually quite empty at 7:30 PM. We ordered the Pupu platter and the salmon and the tofu.
Food: The food is amazing! The platter was a great way to get a nice sampling of a lot of stuff and the salmon had a great dresssing.
Ambiance: Very intimate and quirky place!
Service: Our guy Tim was amazing! He gave us dessert on the house and a candle for my friend’s birthday so we really really had a great time. Thanks Tim!
Would come again!

This Asian fusion restaurant is a must have.. The food and music and atmosphere isnt overwhelming. Relaxed environment.... With a sink outside of the bathroom to encourage people to wash their hands. The food and drinks are really good

Came here for happy hour around 5pm on a Wednesday, service was great and food was very good! Got the Korean spareribs and a burger, plus their cocktail of the day which was a Thai lychee/citrus mix, would recommend!

Very good service and extensive menu with options for all types of diets. I was in the mood for sushi today, it was pretty good but not amazing. Not sure how fresh the fish was and the cuts of meat were too thin. My dinning partners ordered the dimsum, spicy green beans, tomato curry and udon noodles and said they were very good. I would suggest sticking to the main menu. The happy hour was very good, the SBX daiquiri was very refreshing and delicious.

Saucebox is my favorite place to stop in before a show at the roseland. Amazing cocktails, fried rice is best bang for the buck, their dim sum is incredibly well flavored. Their sushi rolls are a bit on the pricy side but are filled with creative ingredient combos. Would say irhe music was slightly louder than i would have expected for a sunday night, but all in all a good experience.

Top Drawer cocktails and a great happy hour-truly an Asian fusion restaurant with Korean, Thai and Japanese influences-the pork spare ribs were awesome

This is an awesome Asian fusion place. All the food is amazing. The ribs fall off the bone. The sushi is delicious. They have some very nice drinks for two to share. I've been here many times and am never disappointed. One of my favorites.

Great place for late night food and cocktails. The tiki drinks pair surprisingly well with the food menu. The bar manager Reese (I think was his name) was very personable and attentive to all our needs and created a delicious virgin cocktail for my girlfriend who doesn't drink. The ambiance was great, the music selection was very good, and the bathrooms were clean. These are all things I pay close attention to being someone who also works in the service industry.

I always have loved this place! Amazing atmosphere. Great drinks. Great selection of drinks. It's a dark martini bar with a DJ spinning techn-mix. Everyone is friendly. One of my favorite martini bars in Portland. I love the bathrooms here too!

Really good, maybe 4.5. Great space, drinks, and inventive dishes. Monkey brains (not really monkey brains) was my favorite. Ordered an oxtail noodle dish but the noodles were under cooked and they gladly took them off the bill.

The food and drinks are top notch; however, the service was slow, very slow. We didn't get our food until an hour-plus after we ordered. Drinks were also slow to come by. Maybe they were slammed with customers that day, but it was a bit frustrating.

Walked in around 10 and was greeted by the bartender. He gave me menus and told me to sit wherever I'd like. Right after sitting, he brought over a.glass of water. A few minutes after, the waitress came over. I ordered the Downtown Girl cocktail. Super yummy and tart. I also got the pork buns hrough out to me soon after. They looked super steamy but were somehow not that hot? Still delicious though. I feel like it needed something. Like a sauce or spice. The Pork Udon came after. Nice and hot. Really good with a little kick of spice.
Overall. Would definitely come again to check out the full menu. I almost walked past It! It's dimly lit, aok keep an eye out.
