Fun cozy place with AMAZING food!! I got a meatball banh mi for my girlfriend, had a bite, and immediately rushed back to order one for myself. The coconut sesame balls and key lime custard tarts are extraordinary. Service was friendly and fast. Can't wait to go back!!
This place is still one of the places that makes the best udon noodle soup (tapioca noodles). It's still a dish that is super tasty and comforting regardless of what the weather is outside. The service here is pretty quick. Once you order at the counter, go find a place to sit, and the server will bring it your food to you. They also have a utensil and water station.
Had a lunch date with my wife here today and arrived early around 11:10a as I had a noon appointment elsewhere. We split a large pot of green tea, a chili noodle with shrimp and chicken and a gluten free Ban Bot Loc dumplings. It was a nice lunch and enough for the both of us. The dumplings were a little on the thick and very chewy sides and I thought the tapioca skin/wrapping could have been a bit thinner. The filling was excellent though as was the chilli noodle dish. We had visited years ago and this was our first time back and we had a very nice lunch and even sat upstairs which we had not done before. It is an order and pay at the counter and take a number and they will bring the food to your table when ready.
We visited for the first time after a friend told us about it. The restaurant is spacious and the terrace seating is roomy and has a nice atmosphere. When you enter the restaurant, you will see delicious looking cookies and colorful macaroons in a glass case. We had Chili Noodle and Pad Khing Pork Belly. The noodle dish was not as spicy as it looked, so it was easy to eat, and the Pork Belly had a strong flavor, but the vegetables and pork soaked up the flavor very well and went well with the rice. The weather was pleasant today, so we were able to have a great and cozy lunch outside seat.š„° There were many other dishes that looked delicious, so I will try the noodle soup when it gets colder. š¤¤
This was a teahouse?!
Great variety of food options.
Fast service considering how busy they were.
Order at the counter and pay before you sit down.
I like to try new places often. Seldom do I like a place enough to want to visit again. I'd come back here given the opportunity.
The Steamed BBQ Bao Buns are so delectable that I always preorder twelve cold ones to take home. The BBQ Bao is filled with BBQ Pepper Pork and Onions in a pillowy tasty Dough and they are huge. The Fresh Salad Rolls are so refreshing. They have Lettuce, Bell Pepper, Cucumber, Cilantro, and Lemongrass Tofu and a Peanut Dipping Sauce. The Pad Khing Pork Belly is a Jade special with Crispy Pork Belly stir-fried w/ Green Beans, Red Bell Peppers, and Onions in Panang Curry Sauce. This is a mind-blowing dish. The Sesame Balls are filled with delicious Mung Bean and Coconut, then rolled in Sesame Seeds and served with a yummy Caramel Sauce. The French Macarons are to die for, and my favorites are Raspberry and Chocolate. The outdoor seating is lovely and you get your food quickly. The Jade Teahouse is a must visit restaurant.
Honestly, Jade is the best. The food is always great. Whenever I'm not sure where to go, or if I've had some bad luck with other restaurants, Jade is my go to. Tried and true, this place is the bomb. Favorite dishes: Wide rice noodles and Sesame beef.(I need to try more! the menu looks so delicious but I always end up getting the same thing because YUMMM)
Anyway, come here, its amazing.
Wow. I have never been so touched by the service we received from Danny who works here. We came when it was a dinner rush and it was clear there was a high demand all at once for the staff. My partner and I were out for a date night and I was introducing him to Jade Teahouse as he had never been before and it was a favorite of mine. We ordered 2 entrees and after we sat down Danny came and told us that there was only enough ingredients to make half of one of our entrees so he comped the dish, said they would still make what they could with the ingredients they had left and then asked if we wanted anything in addition. I asked for a side of rice noodles with chili oil and he comped that too which I was shocked by. When he brought the noodles out, he also said that there in fact was enough ingredients to make the entire original entree but still refused to let us pay for it. He also warned us that the chili oil was insanely spicy and that the noodles might be too much heat to eat. Boy was he right, we couldnāt even finish one bite of them, but he came to check and when we saw how they were affecting us he took them away and said Iāll make you something better. He brought us an entire new dish that was phenomenal. Since he wouldnāt allow us to pay, we tried to tip him the amount but he refused to let us tip so we left it in the tip jar in hopes that it makes it to his paycheck somehow! We will 10000% be back and make sure to recommend as much as we can so that Danny gets the appreciation he deserves!!
Absolutely incredible. I tried the caramelized pork, which came in a pot with broccoli and rice to mix in. It was sweet and delicious. The sesame balls are a perfect way to end a meal. I recommend sitting upstairs.
Amazing location for great food and excellent atmosphere! Highly recommend the bbq pork buns, tofu summer roll, and curry dishes. Iāve been several times and am always happy with the food and service!
My new favorite Thai place in Portland! My friend loved the yellow curry, but I added a little bit of chilli to mine to oomph up the taste. Spring rolls were fresh and absolutely scrumptious with the amazing peanut sauce. We also ordered a customer-favourite stir fried wide noodles, which was my dish of the night.
The space is cozy and warm, great for families or a dinner date. The staff was very nice and helpful, awesome work guys!
As good as ever. I was here a few years ago and they are still serving great food. The menu is larger than before and it has lots of good options.
Not too crazy at 5:45 on a Saturday night. Outdoor seating available. Good COVID prevention procedures in place. Oh. GREAT FOOD! We ordered green papaya salad, tofu pad Thai and sesame beef. Two came with sticky coconut rice. Tasty. Portions were generous, except for the beef. Needed more.
Jade is our favorite restaurant in our neighborhood šš» The salad rolls and the chicken satay are so delicious, fresh and filling!
Their menu is extensive and they have many delicious options for food. The service is really nice and they prep the food pretty quick. The outdoor sitting is great on a sunny day.
10/10 recommended !
First time here. Great prices and everything we ordered was delicious. And the people working there were super helpful and nice.
