Pretty nice atmosphere inside, they do the standard order before you sit (they find you a place and won’t take your order if there isn’t a place for you to sit). Ordering is efficient. You have to get your own water and utensils. Food was quite good though my papaya salad was a tad too sweet for me. I would’ve liked a few more shrimp and perhaps rice crackers like they do in other Vietnamese places. But hey, that’s a personal thing.
Service, as in checking on you about food or needs is non existent.

This place is definitely worth stopping in! The food was great and the people were nice. It's not a typical sit down place; you order before you sit and gather your own cutlery and water. If you want to order more there's a QR code at your seat that you can scan. They get busy quick, so expect to wait in line for about 10-15 minutes. Their pork was great in both dishes we had. We sat at the bar and be aware the drinks they sell are small and they didn't seem to be filling them all the way.

One of the best spots in Portland hands down. From location, to atmosphere, to food, they really hit the mark. All the staff were very helpful with menu recommendations, and the food was quite fast. The prices were reasonable, and the food was amazing. I highly recommenced this spot, especially if you’re visiting Portland!

Night club feel and open late. Are we in Saigon? Definitely unique with unique drinks to match. But the real draw is the food. Expertly done. This is the reason you go out…because you can’t make this at home! Had papaya salad—the best I’ve had, coconut curry, and Luc Lac steak. All excellent! The drinks were yummy and interesting. Only negative is the quality of the chairs. I almost fell over but that was because I leaned back to take a pic of the ceiling which is covered in umbrellas😆get a booth seat if possible.

Loved this place! Hip, downtown vibe. Pho had great flavor. Wine was on the table before I could grab utensils and sit down, with every table sat! Took one star off because the sugarcane shrimp was tepid. Couldn’t tell if it was supposed to be served hot and cooled off or cold and sat under a light. Also only two pieces for $9? Be do 4 for $15. Otherwise, I loved it and will def be back.

Visiting Portland this last weekend coming from Seattle and made the usual stop at Luc Lac for a quick and tasty lunch. It's a perfect lunch on a summer day as the flavors are good, but you won't leave feeling so full when you are out exploring the city or about to sit in your car to drive 4+ hours home like us that day. We arrived close to 12pm on Sunday and had no wait with an option to sit either outside or inside. Last visit in 2022, we sat outside, so opted for inside this time. Order at the counter and then are assigned a table (E2) where you sit after getting your own utensils, water, etc. Service in this sense is almost non-existent and while the woman taking our order wasn't mean by any way, she didn't seem happy to be working. This only was noticeable as most other restaurants we visited in our trip, service seems very enthusiastic and friendly.
I got the combo vermicelli bowl which has a skewer each of: chicken, pork, beef and shrimp + choice of vegetarian or pork little egg rolls (2). My travel partner had the tofu vermicelli bowl which they loved. Flavors are definitely on point and the food is excellent. Perfect mix of proteins and carbs and some fiber vegetables to have you feeling ready for the day but on your toes instead of heavy when being a tourist like us. Cool art deco on the walls as well. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this place. Check it out!

My friend had dined here before and loved it! I agree! The atmosphere is unique, the food is fabulous and the staff is amazing and very helpful in assisting us in finding a good dessert place too! We highly recommend you stop by and dine!

Great ambience and very quick service. We had the shrimp spring rolls on the table before we could seat! Charbroiled chicken was amazing. Also like the vermicelli bowl with pork. Chicken wings weren’t that great.

Ordered takeout on October 29th. Was very busy with Halloween humans. John at the host stand and also John at the take out window were both extremely kind and attentive. The food was delicious.

Luc Lac exceeded all my expectations. The restaurant is colored red with 3D art and floating umbrellas. When you walk in you order your food and drinks and then are seated. The drinks came out quickly with the food close behind. I ordered the pork vermicelli bowl. The pork was tender and the fish sauce was tangy with a hint of sweetness. I got a chance to try the peanut chicken curry and low key wished I would have ordered it as well. If you love green tea, the Asian Vacation cocktail is your drink. Overall Luc Lac is a must if you’re in the downtown Portland area. The vibe is just right and the food speaks for itself.

Service is clever, order first, get table assigned after, self-service water and cutlery, order more though QR code, great experience! The restaurant atmosphere for me was awesome, chill and visually pleasant. I enjoyed the food, tried the peanut curry, portion and flavor was on point! :)

Enjoyed my lunch over at Luc Lac. The entrance is a little odd in that you need a table before going ahead and ordering. But the staff generally was helpful in finding us a spot even with a large group ahead. Interior decor is fun and lively, with good music selection, just probably not a place I would suggest for more than a casual meal.
Food came out quickly and the portions were very strong for the price which is always a win in my book. Food overall was tasty, just nothing that was particularly a stand out compared to other Pho I’ve had in the area. All in all it was a nice meal but probably wouldn’t rush back.

The ambience and decor was cool, loved the umbrellas and the tigers. Food came out really fast. We got there at 1:30 pm on a Friday.
The food was delicious and I would totally go back again. The Nem Nuong Sausage spring rolls weee fresh, and while the peanut sauce was delicious, we couldn’t taste the sausage at all.
The pork crispy rolls were a hit and very flavorful.
We shared the Luc Lac special (cubed tenderloin) which was pretty tasty. If you’re not a fan of cilantro (which I’m not) watch out for the salad. There are some hidden sprigs in there. The only problem here is that the tenderloin wasn’t very tender and required quite a bit of chewing to break it down.
Drank the Tropical Paradise. I give it a 4/5. It was a little more sour than I was hoping. Couldn’t really taste the durian.
Would 100% come back to back to try other things in the menu.

This was my first time ever ordering from Luc Lac. I placed a delivery order through the Cavier food app. My food was delivered within 15 minutes. The quality of the food was middle to high quality. I’m happy with my order. They were a little light with their food portions.

This was amazing! I order the Luc Lac and it was one of the best things I’ve eaten in a while!
I love vibe of this place too. I highly recommend coming here when if you ever need a chill place for dinner.

Great ambiance! Beautifully designed asian atmosphere! Nice hefty portions and well seasoned. Both thumbs up for a visit for first timers. We ordered the luc lac steak and the combination vermicelli noodles.

This place is one of my new favorites in PDX. The food is spot on - amazing flavors, good sized portions, and great value for the price. All in a really hip place with a fun vibe. If you love Vietnamese food, or food in general, this is a must-visit spot in downtown Portland.

Unfriendly, everything was sticky (table, wall & bathroom), some food was good...some wasn't, the music was annoying and way too loud. The crispy rolls weren't good and the rice was mushy. I did like the pho broth and Vietnamese ice tea was great, though there was so much ice, it was coming out of the top of the glass. That gave me about 1/4-1/2 cup to actually drink for $4.50. I wouldn't recommend, nor would I go back. Such a bad vibe in there.

Fabulous food and a funky atmosphere. This restaurant is a must-see in the culinary landscape of Portland with fresh and vibrant Vietnamese cuisine served under a ceiling of parasols. Don't worry if you see a long line here because the staff manages an unusual but effective system of finding you a seat after you have ordered and your food is being cooked. Even better, the prices are relatively low. This was both the best and the least expensive meal we had while visiting Portland for a week.
Jesse Wearly
I would recommend this to anyone the food is excellent. This is on my top picks for food in the area. I'm never let down. Even waiting in line is worth it.

Had the pork skewers and rice plate! So delicious! Amazing flavor!would definitely recommend to anyone going to Portland!

Went for lunch during the week. Ordering went ok. Received my pho, it was lukewarm at best. My table was in a awkward spot, so I could never get anyone’s attention to take it back. The kicker for me is the techno music is SO LOUD!!! I couldn’t even enjoy my lukewarm food because I was winching the whole time from the loud music. I left with a headache I couldn’t get rid of until I got home to take some of my migraine medication. I won’t be back.

Super confusing ordering process, anxiety inducing environment, rude customers and very unhelpful staff. I would much rather support a mom and pop AUTHENTIC pho shop, instead of some overpriced, lukewarm, hipster trend garbage! Im from the bay area and every single place I've had pho at was better than that, including the just ok ones. How this place got rated as the best of anything, is beyond me. If its rated for the trend, or the top 10 places to get a drink, get drunk, and get into a fight while you're waiting in line to eat cuz you're hangry, you win, bring your glow stick and some molly and and your Tech bro attitude there it is! Say goodbye to cheap AUTHENTIC PHO by families who come to this country for a better life. Go figure hipsters would get their claws into something good and ruin it!! I will never ever eat there again just GARBAGE prepared by garbage people!
Susan Rezendez
Best vermicelli bowl I've ever had. Was concerned about the line when we arrived but it moved quickly. Grab a menu when you come in the so that you are ready to order when you reach the host desk and your food will arrive shortly after you are seated. Great music too.

This place is just amazing! Fantastic food, great atmosphere, nice staff and very well priced. Be prepared to wait, but it's worth it!
Celeste Padgett-Reising
With the cold weather we were in the market for something warm & soothing for dinner. This satisfied. We loved the atmosphere. Good music, food & the staff was very accommodating for one of our party that had food sensitivities. The pho was delicious ! We didn't wait very long either.

Loved everything about this place! The food was fantastic.....the music, the vibe😍😍😍
GO!

It was just okay. I was looking forward to finally trying it. Waited in the long line, had some pho, the wings, and the spring rolls. The food was just average. The thumping of hip hop while eating Vietnamese food was also just strange and caters to hipsters.
Shelene Rice
Loved the Phuh, but the rap music BLARING makes for an already loud restaurant even louder. Staff was unfriendly and unhelpful and the "seating" arrangements and their "rules" for seating SUCK. Probably won't be back or recommend it to others.

It was a fun experience and oh, the food... the food was phenomenal - very delicious for sure! Vietnamese iced coffee was a fabulous, bold thirst quencher. I can't wait to go here again!

Always good VN food! Always a fun place to go! Totally a PDX hot spot!

Amazing food, great pricing/ seating strategy, and cute/fun atmosphere. I'm allergic to peanuts and they were very accommodating when ordering :)
