Review Pine State Biscuits - Portland

Delicious Breakfast. Fast Service. Great Prices. Cozy Atmosphere. Nice Back Patio. Kid Friendly. Breakfast Sandwich was pretty amazing. The biscuits and gravy was top notch. Biscuits were fluffy and flavorful. The gravy was thick and seasoned perfectly. Large Portions. Overall an amazing place to grab a delicious meal in Portland.

I have been going here for 14 years. I live in Beaverton and like the original location. The NW 23rd location is a little closer to me but no seats facing the cooks. I enjoy watching my food being made. It is really good southern style diner food. I first saw this place on the food network channel on the show Diners Driveins and Dives. Every place that I've seen Guy go to so far is amazing food made from scratch. There is also a window you can watch them make biscuits. Their Shrimp and Grits are amazing full of flavor. They also have an amazing mushroom gravy, I don't like sausage but I herd its awesome. There is a nice smoothie van parked beside them that's good too. It's hard to not want everything on the menu.

Great biscuits of all sorts and flavors. Non-biscuit menu items are always a delight as well (hint: shrimp and grits). The atmosphere in this place is amazing. It can be difficult to find seating depending on the time of day you go. As others have said, the coffee is great as are other drinks you can purchase. If you have not been here, this place is an absolute must in the Portland area.

This was in my bucket list when I traveled to Portland. I had the Reggie withoutv the bacon. I had visited on Friday at around 2:15pm so the place was nearly empty My chicken-biscuit combo came out perfect with a thick steak gravy with cheese. The Cajun fries were pretty good too. They have 2 hot sauces in front and I tried them both. The Texas hot sauce is too vinegary while their homemade sauce was the best. I am in NJ and wish they had a location here as well. Lastly, while I was there I noticed a customer with a day in the patio. There was a member from the staff who was very kind and he brought small pieces of cheese for the dog and he loved it. If you are reading this, kudos to you!

The food is delicious though a bit pricey, however these people are masters of biscuits & gravy and I highly recommend their delicious mushroom gravy. Great service and surprisingly fast delivery. The only downside was a bit lacking in dining room decor, beverages were way overpriced, and the glasses for water were a bit dinghy and the water for customers was lukewarm. Overall a good experience and would come again to try their other delicious biscuit dishes!

AMAZING food. Best biscuits I've ever had. Killer coffee. But honestly, the place is slightly intimidating. When you enter, you're in a line and you have to order right then. You can't wait for a preferred table. If you don't order when you get to the counter, go to the back of the line. The seating inside is extremely limited, so go early. There is seating outside that is covered and heated, and that's pretty enjoyable. But if you get really unlucky, you have to sit outside under what looks like a bus stop. If it's cold outside, you're gonna get cold. And you're gonna hear the traffic noises and have pedestrians walking right by you on the sidewalk. That's no fun if you're taking your elderly parents out to a nice breakfast. But if you're willing to risk the seating situation, you can't go wrong with the food here.

So tasty! I had the Reggie and I loved the tender biscuit and fried chicken combo. Also very generous. I ended up giving half of mine to my 16 year old nephew who was staring at it hopefully after inhaling his bbq biscuit.

I was impressed with the amount of bacon in the shrimp and grits and bloody Mary. Both were delicious! Street parking is always hit and miss in Portland, but we found a spot on a residential street and didn't have to walk very far.

I love their biscuits. Love love love! I haven't had one in years and it's just brought back memories when I had it this time. Omg....if you've never tried their biscuits and gravy do me a favour and try it!!! I even bought their tote bag this time to support them! We had the Reggie with regular gravy and the biscuits with the mushroom gravy which was also very good!

Nice sitting area by the road. Cool place for hanging out with friends. Reasonable prices. Friendly service. Only thing is I didn’t find the food very tasty. It tastes dried out and bland.
