I have been going here for 14 years. I live in Beaverton and like the original location. The NW 23rd location is a little closer to me but no seats facing the cooks. I enjoy watching my food being made. It is really good southern style diner food. I first saw this place on the food network channel

Non-biscuit menu items are always a delight as well (hint: shrimp and grits). The atmosphere in this place is amazing. It can be difficult to find seating depending on the time of day you go.

This was in my bucket list when I traveled to Portland. I had the Reggie withoutv the bacon. I had visited on Friday at around 2:15pm so the place was nearly empty

So tasty! I had the Reggie and I loved the tender biscuit and fried chicken combo. Also very generous. I ended up giving half of mine to my 16 year old nephew who was staring at it hopefully after inhaling his bbq biscuit.
I was impressed with the amount of bacon in the shrimp and grits and bloody Mary. Both were delicious! Street parking is always hit and miss in Portland, but we found a spot on a residential street and didn't have to walk very far.
