Went for brunch and couldn’t have made a better choice! There was a long wait and almost 2 hour wait, but we managed to snag a couple of seats at the bar after about 15 minutes. And that’s how the feast began.
Great cocktails made by friendly and knowledgeable bartenders. Not only did they look pretty they also tasted great. Whether you wanted something light and refreshing like the Moscow Mule, savory spicy like the Tasty Mary or complex and deep like the Rawhide - there’s no going wrong.
The Potatoes Bravas were decent, the Korean Fried Chicken tasty, but what blew me away was the Polenta n Sugo. Savory and rich with great unctuous flavors of the braised pork shoulder and belly - the polenta was creamy and the juices from the pork made it even more scrumptious.
Can’t wait to go back - would have waited two hours for this!
The food was delicious! I ate dinner and brunch there and neither disappointed one bit! Be prepared for a wait but know that it's worth it. The plates are served tapas/family style so pick a few to share. The bim bop bacon and eggs was a bit spicy but definitely my favorite brunch dish I tried. The grilled octopus for dinner was incredible. A must-try in Portland!
This is probably one of the best brunches I've had in awhile. The hype was real but the food matched expectations. I started off with coffee and whiskey (alder milk punch) which was great. And then I had the hang town fry. Biscuits, fried oysters, gravy, eggs. Unbelievable! And also had to try the potato chocolate donut holes. Wifey had the cheddar biscuit and chicken. That was delicious also! Will come back again and again.
Good service, decent choice of breakfast options!
I liked the cream that was served with biscuits instead of the gravy. The maple syrup was peachy and the French roasts were made of very thick bread. Tasted very nice. The turndown was Korean chicken, which was overly priced for what it was, just the normal Korean flavored stuff. They did not have any French Vanilla creamer for coffee, just the regular half and half, whole milk, soy milk. Good experience overall!
The best part about Tasty n Adler was the food. The plates are big enough to share and still feel like satisfied with everything ordered from the menu. The staff was great. Super helpful when helping choose food and beverages/cocktails options. Very trendy place.
Came in on a Friday morning for brunch. Wait was around 45m but we gave them our number and they called us about 5 minutes before the table was ready.
Our waitress was super nice and knowledgeable about the menu and the speed of the kitchen was awesome.
We loved all of the food and we'll definitely be back again!
Excellent, excellent brunch. The queue is epic unless you take your chances at the bar. It's survival of the fittest here in order to get a spot. We did, and it paid off. The sides were delicious: a naughtily buttery, warm biscuit that my thighs won't be thanking me for but more than satiated my instant gratification; creamy mustard cabbage; and sweet and spicy cumin maple yam. The fried chicken biscuit sandwich was also a winner. Service was great. The fifth star was lost because at the end of the meal, my bag and scarf (on the floor next to our stools) were soaking wet from their drain or dishwasher which was leaking. The server was very helpful but said that this happened frequently. In that case, perhaps there needs to be a sign, or they shouldn't sit people there, or they should call a plumber?!
My first time at Tasty n Adler and not my last! The service was fantastic regardless of the bustling pace. Arrived and ordered in the nick of time because the seats fill up quickly. I genuinely appreciated that the food included fresh ingredients, seasoned appropriately and my steak was perfectly cooked. All this goodness pulled together made for a delicious dining experience. I will definitely be socializing this restaurant with others. ❤
Went here for breakfast. Great food, great service. Everything was really good. The duck duck steak was the best dish. My wife and I really enjoyed it. The only reason for the 4 stars is that the potatas bravas were really overly salted (and I love salt). They make great biscuits and the charcuterie board was awesome at a great price. Love the open kitchen. Love the ambiance. It was packed on a Monday morning. That's how you KNOW a place is good. And, it came highly recommend by more than a couple people. Great job guys!
Such a good time. Hard to get in without a long wait since they don't take reservations but worth making it happen. We sat at the bar to avoid the wait. Very good craft cocktails. The presentation of the food was top notch. We decided the steak is good but we would pass next time. My wife loved the beet salad and broccoli. My pasta was the best I've had in the PNW. It was on par with my favorite Italian joint in NYC. I'll order that everytime. The pasta changed. I'll get something else next time.
Came in for brunch, had a fantastic experience! Raddichio salad and Korean fried chicken were the standouts, but everything was delicious! Might have been the best meal we had on our trip to Portland!
I am speechless, a stunning place with perfect food, this is the best place ever!
I’ve never had salmon like this fresh and well cooked.
Every dish we’ve ordered was perfect! I had wonderful night in Portland.
Delicious! A bit pricier than I like my brunches; but high quality fare mitigates initial dismay experienced upon perceiving underwhelming portion size on some dishes. French toast is outstanding. While bar seating is available, I appreciated the ability to stand and order at a nearby standing eating area while waiting for tables to open up.
I can’t recommend coming here enough! It’s easy to walk in on a weekday around 930. We ordered the potatoes Bravas ($6 for half portion) made in WAGYU TALLOW, bim bop bacon and eggs ($15), and the Tasty Hangtown Fry ($18). All of the food was insanely delicious and crazy filling. I’d say two please should split two dishes. Can’t wait to return.
Busy brunch venue! Come early, we got there before opening and there was already a line out the door. This place is hopping so unless you made reservations for your party of 7, get here early! The Biscuit with fried chicken was fantastic. Coffee was ok, it was a light roast, I'm more of a medium to dark roast coffee lover!
A fantastic portland brunch spot. Everything I had was amazing.
There will likely be a wait but it is well worth it. The whole toad is a really neat dish that stands out, even from the rest of the menu.
We came on a Wednesday around 12:30 and waiting in like for less than 10 minutes for three people. We sat at the bar with a view of the kitchen. For drinks we ordered the tasty Mary (their rendition of the Bloody Mary, which was small and good. Had a kick at the end of every sip and a tasty arrangement of veggies that came with the Bloody Mary) the cherry bounce (sparkling and refreshing), the Rawhide (really good and clean), and lastly Everybody’s brewery’s ESB I think it was called the extra special. We were happy with our drink choices.
For food, just a side note we ordered pescatarian and gluten free(not celiac), we ordered the potato bravos which were super tasty! I really enjoyed this dish with the egg on top. Small portions but it was perfect for sharing. Next we ordered a side order of the Saigon Brussel sprouts... OMG! These were amazing. So much flavor! They are made with a fish sauce, not fishy but really jam packed with mouth watering flavor and the Brussels sprouts were made perfectly with a little extra crisp to it. Lastly we ordered the north west Migas which is this Tex mex concoction of tortilla chips at the bottom, egg scramble on top and layered with grilled peppers, corn, and salsa. This dish was really great! Really simple, not spicy and flavorful. These dishes aren’t really family size if you are planning to order with a group of 4 or more.. maybe 4 you would be fine have a little of each dish. Mind you we did order side dishes and off the small plates. It was difficult finding a dish for both a pescatarian and gluten free option together, but there is options! I’m happy I finally was able to try this place! Definitely coming back for dinner for their goat cheese dumplings.. those sound amazing!
OMG...if you are visiting Portland or live there you have to eat here! Worth the hour wait. We got there at 8am when they opened and put our name down. Fortunately they take your number and call you when your table is ready so you can walk around or go get coffee. Highly recommend the Steak and Cheddar Eggs.
Cozy and muted atmosphere. Service was relatively quick despite being packed. Good pricing for the quality of food you're getting. We had the hand-cut steak tartare, seared foie gras with pineapple jam, and bone marrow toast for appetizers; followed by the gaucho rib eye with truffle fries and farofa along with the prime hanger steak with butter poached porcini and duck confit potatoes with duck egg.
