Not your basic ice cream. Hand crafted ice cream with unique flavors. I got a cookie dough variety and it had swirls of several different flavors. A single scoop was $6. You can sample flavors as well, they had a list of Thanksgiving day flavors, which didn't really strike me as ice cream compatible but what I tried was good.

Amazing ice cream! So many unique flavors and combinations that you'd never think to put into ice cream that are surprisingly delicious. The staff was super nice and helpful and lets you sample these one of a kind flavors. I could not recommend more highly!!!

I live this ice cream shop! There's so many unique flavors, and they all somehow work well. You can try and sample it, too. It's one of the top things to do in Portland so far!

The only reason I gave 4 starts instead of 5 us that the ice cream is a bit pricey and the wait can be awhile. I loved how they had vegan options and the ice cream was really good! I had the honey lavender and double fold vanilla and they were both great! Decor was super cute as well. I do wish they had seating.

Salt & Straw is my happy place! I visited a San Diego location over the summer and was so excited to get to visit again in Portland. They have the best vegan ice cream, hands down!

Loved that they let you sample the flavors, otherwise I would have not ended up with the flavor I really loved, Peanut Butter Brittle Caramel Fudge. Great little shop, friendly staff, expect to wait, it’s pretty popular even on a cooler day in September.

I'm not a huge ice cream fanatic. I can take it or leave it (and most often leave it). I tried the aberquina olive oil ice cream, because it sounded so different and fun to try. It was amazing! Who would have known olive oil in icecream would be good? Fast, friendly service and no problem getting a few glasses of water on a warm summer day.

One of the most highly recommended places in Portland. I've heard the lines can get incredibly long, but it wasn't bad when I visited around 7 on a Thursday night. Lots of unique flavors, so try to pick 2 or 3 candidates and ask for a free sample before making a final selection. It's more expensive than other places, but hasgood enough quality to make it worthwhile.

Good selections of ice cream flavors that were unique yet so delish! Loved the strawberry balsamic flavor. Was introduced by a relative…As a first time customer, definitely wish I could go back to get more but unfortunately am living in another continent! Portions were good too. Totally recommend this place for that sweet indulgence.

I stop here every time I am in Portland. The line is often but goes quickly. They offer samples if you want. I decided to do a split cup of sea salt & caramel and salted caramel & okara cupcakes. The latter is vegan so not as creamy and wasn’t my favorite. Overall, visiting is still on the list each time I’m here from Florida.

Better than any ice-cream parlor in NYC. Great texture in the specials and controlled amount of sweetness not sugary hell like NY IceCream chains. The Pistachio saffron rose water was such a delight and 2 scoops for just $5.50!!!!😍

I came here with my boyfriend the ice cream was very different but not bad for me. My boyfriend liked it but said it was different. This was our first time so new flavors and different ingredients. I appreciate it because it was different and nice decorated shop. Friendly staff and fast service!

Dec 2023 Limited edition flavors of Almond Brittle with Salted Ganache, Toasted white chocolate and peppermint almonds ... so yummy! Not too sweet! Great selection of ice cream, sorbet, and vegan options. Love the staff! Love this location! Interesting flavors and great customer service! Pear and bleu cheese is nice and light, not heavy at all on bleu cheese...highly recommend! Almond brittle was very sweet with large chunks of brittle. Honey and lavender...you can definitely taste honey and lavender separately in this pairing.

Great ice cream... I got a half-scoop order in a cone. I went Sea Salt w/ Caramel and the Cinnamon Snickerdoodle. Both flavors were really, REALLY good

The flavours of icecream I have not seen in other ice cream stores. I had the chocolate gooey brownie plus the sea salt caramel absolutely fantastic. Very nice staff.

Sweet Treat!! We stopped in for an afternoon dessert and this place has amazing ice cream! I got a half and half scoop; half a flavor I would usually order and half a unique flavor. Both were good, but the unique flavor was the best! Take a step outside of the box and try the creative flavors.

Salt & Straw is a small-batch, chef-driven, handmade ice cream shop in Portland that uses local ingredients. They currently have 3 locations around town. +Jasmine Milk Tea Almond Stracciatella (single scoop from their limited edition flavors) for $5.75 - 4.5/5 Overall, Salt & Straw is a quality ice cream shop. They let us sample multiple ice creams before choosing, and they have a variety of flavors. I enjoyed my Jasmine Milk Tea Almond Stracciatella, and I would recommend them for dessert.
