Review Beijing Chinese Restaurant - Portage

Originally I wanted Jade Garden, but found out they are closed on Sundays. I figured I would give Beijing a try and did a pick-up order. I went in and ordered, staff was very friendly, and they had the food ready in at 10 minutes. Everything was fresh and delicious, but it was a little pricer compared to some other places. I will definitely go back again. *Note: If you place an order through their own actual website, their prices are higher than if you just go in and order - that is why I gave 4 instead if 5 stars.

Beijing is my family's favorite Chinese restaurant. We have been ordering takeout from Beijing for several years, and the food is consistently delicious. We have tried beef & broccoli, beef & veggies, beef & mushrooms, orange chicken, general Tso chicken, seafood delight, garlic shrimp, fried rice, and egg foo young. All of our food is AMAZING EVERY TIME. Portions are generous and vegetables are fresh. I absolutely love this place and highly recommend it!

BEST Chinese in town!! Delicious food, amazing staff! I've never been disappointed!! This was my Go-To during chemo! They always took care of me, and even let me know ahead of time when the menu would change. They kept track of how I was doing. They always remember my name! Such an amazing group of people!! I'd give them 10 stars if I could!!

My family and I have made this our go to restaurant for busy nights and it never disappoints. Food is always hot, order is always perfect, delivery is always earlier than estimated and the staff is phenomenal. They have a large menu, and tons of options. Highly recommend for anyone ever looking for Chinese food in the area.

Way overpriced for the amount of food you get. Also tasted horrible. The chicken fried rice consisted of rice, chicken and onion. That’s it. It looked and tasted so cheap. My bourbon chicken tasted like soy sauce on top of chicken. Wasted a total of $26 for two dinners that were barely edible. Most was thrown away.

I ordered 2 of their lunch menu items. The orange chicken and general tso with chicken fried rice was awesome! It was my first time going there and definitely won't be my last!

Probably hands down the best crab rangoons, steamed dumplings, and pork egg rolls I’ve ever had in my entire life!!! Plus, they have some fantastic Pad Thai! The prices arent bad at all for the quantity and quality you receive. I give this place a 4/5 instead of a 5/5 because the pad Thai needs definitely more sauce and the chicken is a little rubbery tasting. But all in all this place is pretty good! We will be ordering again!

My one treat for myself when celebrating a positive event in my life or treating myself after a bad day, is Chinese food. Important context because I try out new Chinese places pretty often as I travel. I've lived in Portage for a few years now and have frequented Beijing the entire time. They always greet me with smiling faces and are very prompt with making my orders. I haven't taken advantage of it often, but they also deliver which is pretty awesome for a small shop. I'm a fairly picky eater and I'm used to getting my orders back incorrect (*cough cough* looking at you South Haven McDonald's) but Bejing NEVER once have they made a mistake with my order or gave me a final product I wasn't pleased with. As food prices have risen at restaurants all over the area post-pandemic, their prices have stayed relatively stable and very fair. I can't recommend them enough, whether to a casual foodie or a chinese cuisine aficionado.
