Review El Amigo 3 - Portage

Tasty Mexican food. I enjoy the chicken enchiladas with rice. They now serve two kinds of salsa with the chips, one kinda hot the other mild. My husband gets the steak with enchilada and truly enjoyed it. There is a full bar and the service is excellent.

We did not get all the meals at 1 time so some people were almost halfway through their meal before others even got their food. We got a side order of French fries were over cooked and cooked in old oil. I got a chicken tender meal for my child and 1 of the tenders was so burnt it was barely recognizable. The waitress seemed upset to have to take it back. It was taken back only to come back out with 1 hot tender on the plate. The rest of the food on the on the plate was now cold. They did NOT remake the whole plate. Very disappointed!!!!

To start off, I am critiquing this restaurant representing 3 people including myself. So I will rate everything overall on a scale of 1-30 (10 point per person and additive to one another) Service: 10 out of 30 The service started out as one would expect but started to fall off. We were greeted pretty fast and had our drinks in a timely fashion. But we were not ever checked up on for refills or if we needed more chips. It was after waiting approx 8 minutes after our chips were gone that I went up to the front counter to get more. After this we still had no service. Keep in mind there were 3 waitresses and we were the only three people in the place. So being busy cannot be used as an excuse. Food: 14 out of 30 The appetizers (guacamole and chiwawa cheese) were pretty good. But the main courses were not to be desired. The enchiladas were dry and the pork for one of the enchiladas dinner was extremely grisaille. The taco salad that the third person had gotten was made with pork and had the same issue. None of us really agreed on the food being very good. Overall I don't recommend

They don't even deserve a star to be honest. We just ordered from there. They took forever and there was literally only one table and they got their food before us. The lady that was waitressing completely ignored my dad and I but when another guy came in she took care of him right away. The tacos are disgusting they are wayyy to dry. It seems like they just cooked the food and tortillas in the microwave. The salsa is too watery doesn't taste like anything. I would not recommend eating here at all. This food is nowhere near Mexican its more for white people.( Not trying to sound mean) never eating here again

Everyone Was really nice & welcoming. Service was great, our waitress was very attentive. The food was petty good. There's also one in Valparaiso, personally i like their steak tacos more!

Wife and kids went there today. Very very poor service. Cups were very dirty. Had stuff floating in drinks. Will never go here again ever! And chicken burrito daughter found bones still in the chicken. Waitress just said oh ya we had that problem lately.

I had a great meal with excellent service! Will be going back Update: I went back. New owners and not nearly as good. Won't be going back. Dropping 5 stars to 3

They had gone up in quality for a while but they're under new management again and frankly, it sucks. Food quality is down servers were rude and on top of it all they're out of half the things you order.
