Review Jade Garden - Portage

Wasn't impressed. Ordered a Beef Kow, Mandarin Chicken, Crabmeat Delights, and almond cookies. Fried rice came with the beef and chicken, but instead of putting it in 2 separate containers, they put all the fried rice in one container. Wasn't an issue since we were all splitting the meal, but what if we weren't? The servings for the beef and chicken wasn't a lot. It came in the flat containers, not the tall round ones. They left some out and didn't even stuff it like some other restaurants do. The Crabmeat delights tasted ok. Sweeter than what we're used to, but the size of these things were tiny!! 3 of them would probably amount to 1. The almond cookies I'd pass on, unless you like them super hard. All of this was about $30 btw...I've gotten much more food for that amount at other places... Summed up, in a pinch this place is ok...try elsewhere if you can. Wish the portions were larger for the price.

This is our family's go-to place for Chinese food. The egg rolls are deep fried and amazing! In over a decade of dining in or ordering take-out at Jade Garden in Portage, our food has always been fresh and delicious!

Tried this place because New Hong Kong in Hobart is closed on Monday's. I can't explain why, but the eggroll tastes like bleach. The beef and broccoli was ok ( most of it was broccoli)and the General Taos was fine but that egg roll was disgusting. Food shouldn't taste like cleaning products...weird. Wont be back I'll wait till Tuesday next time and go see my dude Peter Tam at NHK.

I love Jade Garden!! Food is always hot, ready quickly for pickup, and service is impeccable. Only issues I have is the small shrimp in the fried rice and the Orange chicken recipe was changed. Still my go to for great Chinese food!!

I ordered chicken kow and to be honest it smells funky like it’s been burnt, but it actually tastes OK

Absolutely the best Chinese restaurant in Porter County. I love this place. The owners are always friendly and attentive. The food is fantastic and the service is perfect. If anything they are too cheap. Their lunch specials are very inexpensive and I actually told the owner last week that she needs to increase all of her prices. Their Chicken Rice Soup is the best I have ever had in my life. I actually stop in and buy it a quart at a time. I have been coming here for a long time and I'm never disappointed. Best restaurant in Portage and best Chinese food in Porter County.
