Review Applebee's Grill + Bar - Portage

Ordered a French Onion Soup last week, and it was absolutely disgusting. Now, everyone knows that this soup should be in a crock or bowl covered with melted cheese (that's the draw), flowing down the side of a bowl filled with beef broth & Onions & toasted bread or Croutons. This soup had neither. There was a slice of half melted cheese on top of broth in a bowl with a mushy slice of bread in it. I Sent back after seeing it and asked if they could at least melt and add some more cheese on top. Looks like another half slice of cheese was added on top and almost melted. Totally disappointed. Whatever you do don't order the French Onion Soup! Not worth the $6 I paid. I only ate the cheese after tasting what was under it. I should have ordered the mozzarella cheese sticks like I started to. Who the heck is cooking in that kitchen? They should've just said they were out of this soup!

My food was perfect. My husband food was nothing like he expected. The picture showed alot of chicken but it only had 3 pieces like a kids meal. I wish they would promote food instead of alcoholic beverages when seated. Tell us about specials on food not promoting drinking and driving.

Surprised the entire chain hasn’t been closed for good. I never expect much when I have the displeasure of dining at Applebee’s, yet somehow the bar is always set lower than before. The food is flavorless and the drinks are blended water and ice. Ordered something that was supposed to be tossed in sauce and it was served dry. Asked for a cup of sauce, the sauce that should have been on the meal, and was charged for it. Ridiculous.

Most of our family really enjoyed our visit. The downside was my two year old grandson. He did not get comfortable until we got ready to leave. Then he said byebye.

Online happy hour ends at 6, but that's not accurate. Everything was ok until I was given a half cup of blue cheese for my mild wings, and the server says if I want more I have to pay. 🤔

Very good service even before closing time . Could tell it was short staffed but it’s fine all in all our experience was great . Don’t know his name but the guy with the glasses was doing a great job handling a situation so I tipped him . Keep up the good work applebees staff will be back again with my husband thank you for everything.

Ordered a chicken Caesar salad for delivery. The delivery was great but this is the smallest chicken Caesar salad I’ve ever had from a restaurant. Not even full chicken breast. It doesn’t even look like a half of chicken breast. Definitely not worth the almost $12.00. If you want a good chicken Caesar salad get it from Texas Roadhouse. Much bigger and cheaper. I figured I would try it from Applebee’s because they deliver and Texas roadhouse doesn’t. From now on I will make the trip and pick it up from Texas roadhouse. Very disappointing

Love the BBQ ribs, fries, and Cole slaw. It's great to sit at the bar! Very nice and comfortable ambiance!
