Review Monelli - Portage

Food was very good, although for the price, the dirty mac while tasty -was super lightly portioned, considering we added lobster to it while the other dishes were more than adequate. Food was tasty, though, and super quick service. We had THE BEST server! 👌 typical sports bar atmosphere. Busy place with good eats!

We had excellent service and the server gave great recommendations. We expected a wait as busy as the parking lot seemed but we had a great experience! The meatballs were delicious & my daughter’s chicken fettuccine was fantastic but the pizza was our favorite!

Couldn't have had a better experience. The service was great and the atmosphere was surprisingly quiet and peaceful. I was expecting it to be so peaceful based on it being a sports bar. It is very nicely divided into a dining room that still includes TV screens large and larger and a bar room. You still feel included in the building but at the same time, you can have two experiences. The food, what can I say? The calamari was to die for. It was honestly the best I ever had and the portion was huge. Give me a salad and it was dinner. My boyfriend had lobster spinach fettuccine again a huge portion, he did wish for more lobster but he always wants more lobster. Lol I thoroughly enjoyed myself on Pescatore it was perfectly cooked and seasoned. I noticed a good variety on the menu from pizza, sandwiches, and appetizers to steak, chicken, and seafood. I would highly recommend this place for a quick bit and watching a game or a lovers' night out equally.

Had a very lovely experience at Monelli's Italian Grill and Sports Bar! The food was excellent, the restaurant was clean and inviting as well as having a nice outdoor seating area! I had the Dirty Mac which was fantastic and my wife and friends enjoyed a variety of pastas and appetizers. Wait staff was a little slow, but we don't mind the wait especially while we're hanging with friends! Absolutely worth a stop if your in the Portage area! Cheers my friends!

I visited Monelli's, along with my hubby and some friends of ours the other night for a double date night and it was a fantastic experience!! The food was amazing! The calamari was crispy, spinach artichoke dip was extremely creamy and savorful, also really liked the baked pita chips for dipping. We also ordered Arancini as another appetizer, which are risotto balls, those were AMAZING! As my entree I had the Lobster Spinach Fettuccine and the hubby had the Dirty Mac! Both entrees where extremely rich in flavor and very creamy!! Enjoyed everything about our experience, service was a little slow, but they were extremely busy but every time our food came out it was piping hot and the drinks were correct!! Thanks for Dinner Monelli's! We'll be back!

Food was good, and the waitress that took care of us was really nice. However, after we had dinner we stayed talking and having fun until 11pm. The place closes at midnight, but people were looking at us in a way that made us uncomfortable. There were lots of people on other side, and there were still a few tables with other customers on the side we were sitting. Don't know exactly what was going on, but if the rooms close at different hours, there should be something online. It only said it closes at midnight.

This place was above and beyond my expectations! Amazing service from Drew L today! Food was really great, too! We're definitely coming back!

My daughter and I stopped in for lunch. Wasn't real hungry so I ordered a sub. Took half of the sub home, it was big! My daughter ordered cavatappi, which I stole a bite of. Delicious! Big portions. Our waitress was friendly, and happy. I liked the whole atmosphere of the place. The good food is a big plus!!

We come here regularly and have for years. This was the first time I felt compelled to leave a review because we truly received the best service we have ever had dining in. It made my life so much easier as a mom with my hands full to have our drinks constantly filled, not have to ask for extra napkins, and to just have someone treat us with such kindness and promptness. And she mentioned she was relatively new. Definitely NOT inexperienced. Thank you so much JAZMINE (sp?).

I really enjoyed coming here for lunch last Friday. My partner and I came for a late lunch after the movies and the wait staff were great. We got seated immediately and I felt like our server was very attentive. My panini was perfect. The bread was fresh and amazing and I could tell they used quality products, especially because I took some home as leftovers and it was still great after I reheated it in the air fryer for a bit. My partner also felt like his was great. I also had the cherry lime Moscow mule which was so refreshing and not too sweet. I think the prices are affordable. And I love that you can pick the quieter dining side or the sports bar. Highly recommend and I will be returning.

When my family was sat we were completely ignored for a good while, I wasn't keeping track of time as I was hopeful the many people walking by our table would eventually say something but didn't until we asked the wait staff person next to our table, I would GUESS it was at least good fifteen minuets of nothing. The waiter could not have been more accomodating!!! I was so impressed the the amount of grace they had! They didn't miss a beat, as the meal was spectaular from when we got served all the way to the end! I would guess the hosts didn't tell any of the wait staff that they were sat, as she was talking to someone not on the wait staff right after we were sat? Plus, for how surprised our waiter was when we eventually asked for service.

Had a birthday dinner here for my daughter and the food was really good. Our waiter was very attentive and had really good sugestions on beers for my husband. We had a great time!

First time. Loved it! I had the chicken alfredo. I like the Alfredo down the street. And don't recall ever "not" having to ask for more sauce. Monelli's didn't hold back on anything. The noodles were El dante. And the flavor and consistency were exemplary! Empties whisked away without intrusion. Drinks replaced without request. I will return and submit an updated review.

What a menu selection! My sister took me there, my first time. There was a small patio/outdoor section, folks enjoying. Inside divided: sports bar setting, other side casual, families present. We both ordered a pizza, it was great! I had to ask for a "to go box for 10 inch). They brought a warm bread, sliced with soft butter, minor garlic flavor. I ate 3 slices! I will go back.. I had my eye on the appetizer list. Sign indicates hours to be 11:00 am - 11:00. Double check hours.

Bartenders are attentive and interesting, huge draft and liquor selection, and the food (a blend of Italian and American) is excellent. The bar area is large, open, and has many TVs with variety of sports playing. It can be loud, but in a "busy bar" sort of way. The dining room is entirely separate and feels more like a family sit-down restaurant with limited noise.

Brought my brother in here for his 21st birthday. Nick G was AMAZING. Great service. One of the best servers we’ve had in a long time. I hope you guys take great care of him, like he did us! Nick, you rock!

Great menu and wonderful food. I always try different things from their menu and have yet to have a bad experience. For starters, try the pepperoni rolls, trust me! Some other good appetizers are the mozzarella sticks, cheesy breadsticks, and sweet potato fries. Their salads are very very good and fresh, this is important to me, as nobody wants a wilted uninspiring salad. Now to my favorite no-lose main courses; lasagna classica, fettuccine alfredo, classic burger, cheddar bacon burger, olive burger, chicken parmesan, chicken marsala, lobster fettuccine & rigatoni carbonara are amazing. Other items might be just as good, I simply haven't tried them. My new favorite, as I just tried it on my last visit, was their pizza! How are they not known for their pizza?! The crust is perfect, it's on the thinner side but I wouldn't necessarily call it thin. Toppings were good and they didn't skimp on them. Please, get a pizza for takeout if you don't feel like eating at a restaurant. They are excellent. I don't often have room for dessert, but I really like the cannoli. Most cannoli just don't have that home quality to them, but these do. One last thing, if the parking lot is full, don't despair. They have a lot of seating and even at 6pm on a Friday, I haven't had to wait for a table.
