Old Chicago

I was in the area and was excited to try some Detroit style pizza in Michigan. I'm familiar with this style of pizza thanks to chains like Little Caesars and Jets which are scattered around Chicagoland. The restaurant is clean and has a cozy atmosphere. The decor is also very nice. The staff was very friendly and it was quiet for a Sunday. We had Chicken wings and fries. The chicken wings, we're a bit small and not the crispy variety. My partner enjoyed them but I would have preferred the crispy kind. The fries were potato wedges and they were very good. A little extra seasoning but good. Now on to the pizza, it cooks fast, the server stated about 17 mins or so. So we asked to delay, to enjoy our apps. The pizza came and it was a bit smaller than I had expected, but reasonable in size. We ordered the 8 piece Detroiter and added sausage. Overall, the food and experience was great and for the average pizza goer, this would be a five star experience. However, this extra detailed review is for the pizza hunter/lover out there. My review for this pizza is around 2.8-3. Honestly, I was hoping it would rise above what I could get at a Little Caesars, but it just didn't hit the mark. The sausage, definitely has the same flavor from LC and one I'm not a fan of. It has an extra salty taste. The overall pizza was salty in my opinion. Although my partner did not notice. I'm wondering if it was due to the Wisconsin cheese blend that is used versus regular mozzarella. The crust could have baked longer to give a more crispy crunch. Ultimately, this pizza did not satisfy my original expectations. Again, this deeper review is for those looking for an ultimate pizza 🍕 experience. I would try again in the future, but I would not travel out of my way to have it.

Buddy's Detroit Style Pizza 🍕 is really good! We had the "6 Mile Pizza"... The 🍕 comes in either 4 squares or 8. We had the four squares and it was enough for two people, but next time we will probably add an appetizer or maybe a salad in addition to the pizza. The atmosphere was nice and the wait staff was awesome. There is a separate bar area and lots of dining room spaces. The bathrooms were clean and fresh. I believe this would be a fine place for families. I'm sure we will be back again soon. We really enjoyed the crust! Give this Detroit style pizza place a try! Buddy's is the real deal 😊 I hope you enjoy it as much as we did. Give them a try!

We came in with a fairly large group of 9 but we were all able to be sat together. While the staff was very nice, the waitress forgot to put in my husband and my order so while everyone else got their food, we ended up having to wait for another 20 minutes until we got our food. That being said, they did give us our food free if charge due to the oversight. That aside, that was some amazing pizza. The gluten free crust was not thin and dry like you see with a lot of crusts and felt more like a "normal" crust than I see with most places. It was excellent. I got the Henry Ford which also had blue cheese on it. If you've never put blue cheese on a pizza, it's a fun adventure. Try it! I will also mention that this pizza did reheat well as we had leftovers. Thumbs up to the folks who made the food and to the one who picked the menu and picked the supplies to make it. The whole thing came over great!

Met some family members at your restaurant a couple of days ago and we got the meet up time wrong and was there an hour early. We were the only ones there but they seated us and treated us like royalty until the others showed up. When they showed up, they got the same fantastic service. My overall experience was truly a great one. 👍 I have a big mouth so other people will be told about it. Thanks!!!

Cool place where someone definitely paid attention to the aesthetic. Our food was great... Split the Greek salad and Italian hot sub. Both very good. Service was good and staff was friendly and helpful and kind. We didn't like some of the music... Too overpowering at times when hard rock was playing... And we were there at lunch... It wasn't party time! 🤣 Also, someone who seemed the manager kept walking by, taking very loudly to repairmen. It was odd and disruptive. I don't think we'll be back to dine in but we'd definitely get take out from there....
