Nifty Fiftys Soda Fountain

We stayed the night in Port Townsend- it is a beautiful town, amazingly friendly people but the highlight of our first night was the Soda Fountain! We happened across this gem accidentally while walking around town and we could not have picked a better place for dinner if we tried. The 50’s diner theme definitely passed the vibe check and was a hit with the kids. We had to order milkshakes for course- and it lol we just thought of and so delicious. (I want to go back for more just thinking about it). Then came the food. The fried shrimp was so good that even my 4 yr old nuggies and fries only kid cleared the plate. The halibut was delicious and the stripped clams was on of the best my husband had in a long time! Then came dessert. We swore we were full but just had to try the fried ice cream. Well I would happily pay the price for over eating because the butter scotch was worth it! My husband had the sugar free ice cream wand he wished he could eat seconds! I left the best for last: our waiter Fabian! He was so efficient it was like magic. Like we just thought of fried ice cream and boom her was there! And he was so nice to our family. His kindness to our (big) family will remain a highlight :) Incase it didn’t make it though : 10 stars definitely recommend.

My party of 3 sat on the patio with my dog. The service was quick and friendly, and all the food was delicious. I also had a raspberry shake which was amazing! I only got to peek inside since I had my dog, but it looked fun and had a good vibe. Outside was very relaxing after a long walk. I'll definitely be back when I'm visiting Port Townsend!

Ordered a burger and a salad w/o onions. The salad came with onions and the only thing the waiter said when he saw I hadn’t really touched the salad was, “Oh you ordered that with no onions, huh? Sorry about that.” Then he walked off without even offering to correct it. And they still charged me for the salad. Burger was ok but I’m pretty sure it was just a frozen burger patty with decent toppings.

My wife brought us here because she went here as a child. After 15 minutes of being ignored at the soda bar, we were greeted and told they would be with us in a little bit. Another 5 minutes later we left disappointed because the food and ice cream shakes looked great but staffing and organization was chaotic and overworked for what looked like an average if not slower day (off season).
