This was a wonderful experience! The place is so cute, you can feel the love that went into creating this cozy space. The staff was extremely knowledgeable and so helpful and friendly. I have food allergies and they were so accommodating! My Lamb Kofta was extremely delicious. The sweet potato fries were out of this world.

We were staying at Fort Worden and decided to go out to eat in downtown Port Townsend. We didn't find the place we had planned to go to and decided to park and walk to a place as there were several options. We ended up right out side Owl Spirit so we tried it. As we started to head up to the door, a person opened the door and we thought he would tell us they were closing and instead said, "Come in we've been waiting for you." We saw lamb on the menu and each of us ordered that. And we split an order of sweet potato fries. The food was delicious-the gyro had lovely hummus and fresh veggies and tzatziki sauce. What more could you ask for?

I really want to like Owl Sprit, but I've have had a few lesser than experiences. Last night, I requested gluten free bread and my sandwich showed up with normal, gluten bread. I caught it (because GF bread doesn't look so yummy). They did ask me if I needed it totally remade/if I'm celiac, but instead I said yes to just switching out the bread. The thing is, if there's gluten on some of the food (like big crumbs), it's going to affect me-- I assumed that would be understood--thus requesting GF bread in the first place and that not every morsel of food could be transferred. I'm feeling worse and worse today experiencing this intense food allergy and am disappointed to pay good money to not have my allergy fully considered. --The server was super sweet and apologetic and they were nice enough to serve me very close to closing time... still, I kind of wish they'd just turned me away now. Another time, I said I didn't want cheese and they interpreted that as no dairy at all. My sandwich showed up DRY--because I guess the sauce also had a sauce with some dairy in it. Sauce and cheese are two different things and who wants a dry sandwich? Couldn't the server work with me a bit on that point vs assuming I'm ok with paying $20 for a dry sandwich? --I hope this feedback is read and heard. Again, want to love Owl Sprit for what everyone else says about it. Thanks.

So we stopped in hear for an early dinner and I was very impressed. I should have taken photos of the inside because when we got there almost no one was there by the time we finished there were no empty tables. So what you really want to know about is the food. In my picture here is an order of sweet potato Fry's on the left and their spicy ham and cheese sandwich. The Fry's have a lovely spicy mayo dip and unlike most sweet potato fries are breaded. The sweet smell of the fries with the spicy mayo was a great combination. Now for the main course. This sandwich surprised me. To start my wife picked this place specifically because that had a vegetarian Berger and the large number of vegetarian and vegan food options didn't leave me super hopeful for the ham sandwich. However I really enjoyed the sandwich the ham that they used was a nice thick cut from good ham not your standard deli ham. This ham just easily pulled apart and tasted great with the cheese and the light spice of the sauce. They only downside of this is the bread ended up a little to crisp from the cooking process for my taste but still it was great and I was totally full after. Fries = delicious Spicy ham and cheese = ham fantastic bread was a little crisp For those wondering my wife had a Portobello Berger she loved it we shared the order of fries.
