Review Flapjacks & More - Port Orange

This place has really changed since the new owners took over. Plain white walls that make it a lot less cozy/welcoming. All new staff! Plus they changed the cooks. I found the food to not be as good. And the ATM in the restaurant? Tacky. At least put it in the the back out of view but still accessible. This used to be our family’s go to place for breakfast because it was very quick and cheap. Used to order and get our meals in 10 min. Last few visits we waited double, if not longer, for our meals.

Food was delicious!!!! The service was awesome. Please go support these folk. Clean, friendly, great customer service. I highly recommend them.

It’s a good diner to go to for the sake of convenience. They’re a little pricy for breakfast. I like cheese in my eggs but they just put the the cheese slices on top of the eggs which don’t make them very good. The sausage Patties are dry and not good. I am an avid French toast eater and i do approve of there’s it’s delicious.

Food was just ok. Wish I would have known the eggs would be the instant Kind. Customer service was atrocious. Waitress never came back to the table until the hostess started to clear our table. Then she brought the check and took off before we could pay. I ended up having to stop her as she flitted to other tables chatting and totally ignoring my family.

This was my first time back since under new ownership/management, & I must say it was good.. Not only was the food great, all of the staff are super friendly and are always willing to help even if they don’t have your table..

So so good. Love this place for breakfast! Great service and delicious breakfast classics. Try the hidden gem - grilled blueberry muffin. To die for!

Was a great place to eat till new owners took over and ran off the employees that customers loved. Closed today because the havent given the staff adequate time off. Deletes customers post on Facebook. Owner talks bad about customers and staff to other customers. This will become another failed restaurant soon enough. Sad because i loved this place, the staff, and the food.

Cash Only . I love this type of hole-in-the-wall place.., specializing in breakfast and lunch.., daily specials, family owned and operated.. Substituting the sides that come with an omelet is usually a given, but not here. This policy needs changing. I decided to just have the flapjacks. They come in two sizes.., too big to finish, and silver dollar. They were big and fluffy, but fell short of flavor.

We have been coming to Flapjacks since 10 years ago as a vacationer and now is locals we still love Flapjacks. Whether it's breakfast or lunch,the food is amazing as is the staff and owners. All food is fresh and they have a special every day. Oh shoot, I missed the delicious moist (not dry) beef brisket last month.... it's time to have that again hint hint

FlapJacks is the best breakfast place in the Port Orange area!! They have great food, great service and great specials!!! The food is served nice and hot!!! Delicious!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Was amazed at the size of the portions, excellent. Food was terrific and service was 5 star (thank-you very much Ariel). Prices were lower than expected. Would go back to this place in a heartbeat. Had 2 eggs over hard with Corned Beef Hash, Home Fries with onions, whole wheat toast and a single whole wheat flapjack with blueberry topping. Washed it all down with sweet tea. Our server was polite, prompt, friendly and attentive. Great experience.

Great food, great and fast service and excellent prices. We go there quite a bit for our Sunday morning breakfast. Have never been disappointed.

I reside in Orlando. My mom who lives in New Smyrna Beach introduced me to this fabulous restaurant in May. I absolutely love the service, the atmosphere and the food is really great. I visited again yesterday with my mom and again they didn't disappoint me. Great food and service at a really good price. The pancakes are the size of your plate. If I had a complaint it would be that they only accept cash.

Moved to Port Orange more than 6 years ago and still enjoy having breakfast there anytime. Only one little problem: Weekends are very busy. Not a bad problem to have as an owner. Love the place.

I had a half order of biscuit and gravy and one pecan pancake they both was delicious they give great portions and it's family owned I like that

Usually when I go out to eat no one ever makes me happy and I say I will never go again. Flapjacks is phenomenal and the food is very delicious, hot off the grill and not one complaint from me.

Great Breakfasts!. Met some friends there Monday morning (8am) and between us we tried the eggs, corned beef, bacon, home fries, and flapjacks. Everything was good - especially the home fries. You can tell they're made from scratch, not out of a bag. One person said the bacon tasted "old" like it might have been sitting under a heat lamp for a while...but he still ate all of them.<br/>All in I agreed to meet here again for breakfast. The only caveat was the place was CROWDED by the time we left (around 9:30) - there was some people even waiting outside - on a MONDAY!<br/>Guess we gotta get there early to have a relaxing breakfast.

FlapJacks Griddle Cakes Pancakes. Call them what you want. I've eaten pancakes from Canada to Mexico and the Pacific to the Atlantic. These have to be the BEST I've had in years. I've tried to emulate them and have yet to succeed. <br/>Friendly staff. Quick service. A great place for the family or friends to share a wonderful breakfast. 2013

NO CREDIT CARDS. Why? I think the IRS should ask the question. This is 2013 not 1956. Raise the prices if the 2% is that important to you! Maybe if we all send them a big fat no business message, things will change. The "short stack" has been extended to shortsighteness. Let them bleed syrup.

Flopjacks............. Well once again, I got encouraged by a few positive posts here on urbanspoon.com and this time also by a photo of what "appeared" to be a nice stack of thin, crispy, light blueberry pancakes. So, I tried this place for the first time. I never knew it existed, but others sure do. The place is very popular and on a Monday morning, they had a nice crowd at 8:30 AM. To management's credit, you can tell this is a well run place and they're successful. Hey, good for them. There are plenty of cooks and waitresses to take care of everyone. The place is very clean and very organized. Parking is great, too. <br/><br/>I saw several orders of homefries and eggs pass by and they looked good. But, I drove 15 miles for what I was hoping were a stack of really light, airy, top quality buttermilk pancakes. A batter made on the premises with fresh eggs, buttermilk, butter, etc. Sadly, I'm going to have to contimue looking because their's were the same old typical cheap pancake batter sold to diners by the likes of Sysco, etc. <br/><br/>My pancakes, $5.25, were huge, but sooooooo heavy..Literally like lead frisbees. Come on guys, why not make a decent pancake to be proud of instead of taking the lazy way out. I mean, you do call yourself "Flapjacks." To use that name and serve such an inferior pancake is really disappointing.<br/><br/>When I am in South Florida I can get wonderful and yes, expensive pancakes, at any The Original Pancake House location. They have made pancakes an art. Each of their batters is made fresh daily with the best ingredients. They are terrific. Trust me, they're worth the extra few bucks witness the lines on the weekends to get in their places. <br/><br/>In St. Augustine, you could get a terrific pancake near downtown at a place that actually whipped up their homemade buttermilk batter in milkshake machines for a light and airy panckake. I believe it was called the Varsity Inn? Another good chain. And then there is the "mother of all pancakes"..... Pamela's in Pittsburgh. I've never had a pancake that even came close to their quality. Hey, ask the President..he's been there. They are just amazing. <br/> <br/>So, I'll continue to make my own pancakes here in Volusia thank you very much. That is until I do find a decent pancake here...These were really, really bad so guide yourselves accordingly..You have been warned..Don't confuse size with quality!

Breakfast seekers rejoice!. A great little breakfast/brunch spot tucked away Next to Publix in the West Port Square Mall on Taylor Road. Flapjacks serves up reasonably priced and consistently good breakfast dishes. Everything I've had here has been fresh, served quickly and the portions are remarkable. Breakfast. Their breakfast is pretty standard morning diner, nothing extremely special, but their flapjacks are good. Everything else was just average to me.

The Cracked Egg is better. Good breakfast, but the service here is usually bad. I like friendly, smiley people... 9 out of 10 times you won't get that here! (Unless you come off as someone with alot of money)

Best Breakfast in TOWN!. There is not a better place in town for breakfast....service is always excellent, food is always great and Anna & Bob make you feel like you are in their kitchen at the table they are so friendly and welcoming! LOVE this place!

Favorite pancakes!. This is my favorite place to get pancakes in town! and it is super affordable with quick service!

Good Stuff and a Good Price. Flapjack's provides a friendly and laid back place to enjoy a home-cooked breakfast in a town that is lacking this sort of restaurant. You will enjoy friendly, quick, prompt service...but the best part is that the PRICE IS RIGHT! Make sure to take cash, because no cards accepted!

Gotta Love Flapjacks and More. Great Food. Great Prices.What more can you ask for? Yeah the long lines stink at times but there is a reason for them. Once you get seated you have your food very fast. They only take cash so hit the atm outside (in front of Publix) before you go in and you'll be all set. The big Bubba Omlet is one of my favorites but the pancakes are very good too. The biscuits and gravy are OK but I have had better elsewhere. But then again the sign out front says FlapJacks NOT Biscuits and Gravy. lol The staff is always friendly and the food comes fast. This is a family run place which I always like better than the chains.

Can someone please explain the long lines??. Two Saturday mornings ago after getting a recommendation to try this place we finality made it despite the fact it was a rainy morning, The first impression was the long lines that is usually a good sign. Not this time the lines should have been to get out not in. The only thing I can think it must be location as there are no other significant breakfast choices in the area. We did get there late so we thought about having lunch that ended when we where told we have no fries I asked are you out I will run next door to Publix I was told no we have no fryer my thought what the heck kind of place serves you a burger with no fries? We settled on breakfast to be honest the food was bland and mediocre at best. The service was god they did move people well. One other thing they do a cash business only I know what that suggests to me I wonder how long it will take the IRS to catch on? Folks maybe bland and mediocre works for you as for me if all I want is average I will stick with Denny's

Flapjacks food is hard to beat, I have had many diffferent menu items and must say they have toped the chart everytime almost. As for service , I wish I could say the same of the staff have an attitude issue, the food mort than makes up for it..

Perfect Sunday Breakfast. Great for a Sunday breakfast. The food is great, big portions, cheap price, friendly service...two things...1) CASH ONLY & 2) at first it seems you are sitting with strangers, but the food is good so you get over it pretty quickly:)

Great Food!. Love this place for breakfast and lunch...quick service and nice friendly folks. Sometimes it is a bit loud in there when you are eating but it has the "Mom & Pop" atmosphere. The tables are close together and at the large tables you eat with other groups so it isn't real private. You can hear everyone's conversations and I am not a big fan of that.<br/>We try to get a table along the wall and that is much better.<br/>Great prices and great food here and love that it is close to home. We eat here a few times a month.

Great. Kind of in convenient to only pay with cash (there is an ATM outside though) but the breakfast is the cheapest you will find anywhere, and is still good. Perfect for starving students such as myself...quick, friendly service and food cooked to order.
