Review Sonny's Bbq - Port Orange

Good food overall, and friendly service. If you order drink they will offer to put it in a takeaway cup for you since they are so huge. The ribs had really good flavor. Chicken was moist but a bit bland. Sliced pork is forgettable, and pull pork was good but definitely need sauce to go with it. I would go back again. The garlic bread, beans, and cole slaw were all good.

As I suspected there were not a whole lot of options for a vegan or vegetarian however there were enough to satisfy anyone's appetite. My son absolutely loved the brisket! As for me I fell in love with the corn nuggets and the corn on the cob and the cornbread! The sauces are amazing as well. The price was reasonable and our server was delightful. I highly recommend checking it out! Great prices too!

Something different than the normal ended up here. My girlfriend has never had fried okra She absolutely loved it. We both ordered the sampler Everything was great and really did not need any extra sauce. Derrick our server was above and beyond.

Food was fresh and customer service was perfect. The lady checking us out was doing an amazing job. She was training a new employee and was so kind and patient. When an order was messed up she explained to the new guy with such respect and had it taken care of right away. It's good to see great customer service and patience in today's crazy world.

Server was very good, special of pulled pork was delicious. However, the ribs were very tough although they did have a good flavour. The baked potato tasted like it had been re-heated. I love Sonny's so thought maybe the issues were due to the time we dined (around 2 pm). Prices were good.

Absolutely AMAZING service!!! Server was perfectly attentive, but not too much to be annoying. He was friendly and funny. Food was SO good. Delicious barbeque, massive drinks, and super affordable! You HAVE to get the BBQ pork egg rolls 😋🤤

Today we go eating there second time and I have $5 coupon (picture attached) from our last visit there on 2/4/2022 and we already told to our FIRST waiter that we have coupon and we showed the coupon too and she said okie. Then food sent by SECOND waiter (different waiter), she said the first one giving our table to her and we said okie and we also told her we have coupon. And then middle of our eating, there is THIRD waiter told us that she will handle our table. We think "oh maybe they share tips.. " or any waiter can help us.. then at payment time the SECOND waiter took our money and the way she went to register, the THIRD waiter took the money from SECOND waiter and told her that the FIRST waiter gave our table to her.. and then the THIRD is back and gave us changed and then the FIRST one is back to us and saying she forget to put the $5 coupon and she told me that I can use my $5 coupon next time.. but i told her that it will be expired tomorrow.. its only valid for 14days from the receipt and plus she tear up my receipt with coupon. And she insisted telling me that they will honor it and it happened a lot there. And im asking her how I can be sure that my coupon will still valid after 14days ? And finally , she write the note on top of the receipt. It is very not proffesional how she throw us to two different waiters and after that she didnt apply my coupon and she is not trying to fix the mistake she make.. its very very dissappointing experience for us especially we are new customer there. And I hope the reason she is throwing us to 2 different waiters without explaination ( and meanwhile she is still there handling other tables) not because of I am Asian.

Derek was an amazing server for us today!! We knew that the kitchen was short staffed and he did a great job of taking care of us while we waited for our food. Also had some great jokes while we were waiting. Would definitely come back to see him!

Brisket is hit-or-miss, sometimes pretty good, sometimes pretty dry. Everything else is great...LOVE their pulled pork!

Very disappointed. We arrived with a party of 6. Was told they had to get a table ready for us (there were only three other small tables being used - the rest of the restaurant was empty.) so we waited then were sat after a while. We went for my sister-in-laws birthday (her pick as she wanted the all you can eat rib special). Our server was Austin. He was polite however ignored us to the point that our daughter had to interrupt he and two other servers from chatting to tell him we needed drink refills etc. we had to ask another server who was cleaning to get him because our broccoli came cold, silverware was dirty, and corn bread burnt so bad it was hard as a brick and black on the bottom. We only got 1 refill on the all you can eat ribs because Austin was no where to be found. We arrived at 6:30pm and we cashed out at 8pm - all because the service was horrible. Needless to say - Austin only got 10% of an $80 bill when we always give 20 to 25% for good service! We won't be back. We came all the way from Ormond when we should have gone to the DeLand location - sad when Sonny's use be the BEST years ago!

Sonny's did not disappoint! Everything was hot, flavorful and served quickly by a great waitress...Joanie was awesome. We always make a point of stopping by a few times when we travel south. Their menu has something for everyone and things you didn't even know you wanted! Do not hesitate to stop here...you'll be glad you did!

Dinner at Sonnys was very disappointed. Not sure if it was an off night. It was a little busy and service was ok. The food was not. The salad bar was terrible some of the lettuce was brown on edges. We got all you could eat and you couldn’t change from pork to chicken anymore. The Brunswick stew was terrible. Absolutely no flavor. I am very disappointed and being in a regular customer. I am not sure if I will return.

Really good food and fast service friendly staff I liked the veriity of the BBQ souces and the salid bar was big and fresh just a great meal and the corn muffins wow.

I come down every year for biketoberfest and other times throughout the year this is always a stop for me and has never disappointed the food is always great and comes to the table quickly. The wait staff is very friendly and keeps up with the demand for the all-you-can-eat pulled pork LOL see you in a few months

Placed an order for pickup they told me 10 minutes and then up waiting 30 minutes all I got was sorry we're busy and I don't think that's good enough.

Not good tonight, lipstick on daughters mug and food practically cold. My triple pork was cold, fatty and bland. We usually eat at Sonnys when visiting Glorida from the uk but I'm not sure we will bother again

It was a great meal with my granddaughter and my great granddaughter and what a surprise happy birthday pop song by my great granddaughter

Good food! Great staff! Reasonably priced! One of our fav places to eat!

Ribs were amazing and the service was the best by far from the Florida keys to here. Katie was one of the best waitresses we have ever had the pleasure meeting.

I travel from Connecticut to Port Orange several times out the year. And number one lunch priority is going to Sonny's. You guys have the best ribs from the whole north east to south. I also like that you are extremely affordable and I get a meal for made for a king. Thank you!

A bit generic for me so the food was ok the smoke BBQ sauce saved the day..lol
