Great little place on the beach with no frills but lots of thrills!!! Loved the laid back electric vibe. Food is delicious with beautiful views. If you’re looking for a fun place to just be & enjoy who you’re with, this is the place. We’ll be back soon!

First time visit for us.
I found this spot on line and it was everything it said it was.
It has a layed back feel and all the guests we met where friendly and everyone seemed to be happy to be ther just like us.
It has an island feel and was pet friendly and family friendly.
We came with our young grandsons and after a 3 hour drive from our home they where cranky as cooped up kids can get after a drive but the staff where so comforting and friendly.
It was nice to be able to have a meal and a cold beer and see the beach.
This place is a hideaway with a more rustic feel and a great escape from the norm.
I look forward to our next trip.
Our room was unique and was clean with a great view.
The deck on the second story above the pool and with a view of the gulf was relaxing day and night and it had a safe feel about the place.
Many people left there sandy shoes and beach toys outside there rooms including us.
Prepare yourlself for a relaxing good time.
A special thanks to all the staff for a great time and a friendly smile to go along with it all.

We just left after a girl's trip and had such a great time! If you are looking for luxury or frills, this is not the place for you, however, it offers everything you need for a beach getaway. The three of us stayed in room 17 and it was very clean and cozy! One queen and one twin bed. For us, the beds were comfortable and the air conditioner worked great! Everyone there was so nice and welcoming. There was always someone out working on improvements to the property. The restaurant had great food! You have access to an ice machine for your coolers, and it is right on the beach. Great little gem of a place, we will definitely be back!

Been comin' here for 15 years or so. The only bar grandfathered to have beach access. Great dive bar. Used to have a great jukebox but they've replaced it with one of those new fangled computerized thingamajiggies. Hey, Chuck, you ought to let people sign the walls like the old days. Fried shrimp and burgers are still staples. Don't let that change.
We love this place. The staff is great, it is the perfect place to be on beach time. We have been going here for years, and the only thing I would change is not so many people knowing about it so they didn't get booked so fast �

It's a cool low rent atmosphere.
Hit it when I'm in town. Sometimes the food is a bit wonky. They'll give you the tomato end. Usually I'm a few beers in so I let it slide.

Love that it's on the beach! Rooms are not fancy, but they were clean, beds were comfy, AC worked well and a full size refrigerator too. One ceiling fan quit working, the TV signal kept freezing, and the microwave quit working the morning we were leaving. Ordered breakfast one morning... hashbrowns were great, but our over-easy eggs were over cooked, bacon was limp and tasted like it was soaked in rancid oil! My friend asked for ice water and never got it.
It's a few feet away from the beach in a really nice spot on Port A. Only problem was the rooms were a lot smaller than expected. Not a lot of room to use the bathrooms or move around, especially if you bring pets with you. There's no fridges or anything, so bring a cooler. But other than that for the price, it was a really good deal. And it was in an awesome area. Has a pool as well, and the restraunt is good!
Very nice establishment to lodge and dine. Very friendly staff, always considerate of customer needs and comfort. The owner, Chuck, is very friendly and professional. The lodge is located on the beach. I will come back to this lodge and restaurant and will recommend it to friends and family.
If you guys need a quick lunch their prices are affordable and the food is great! Sometimes the service is slow but it's worth it.
Stayed here a few times in my life and enjoyed it. Rooms get the job done
Get a pound of the peel and eat shrimp with butter. Throw in a dressed bottle of Dos Equis. They add up to heaven. Don't ever criticize the servers. They're working as hard as anyone ever has.
This is a great location and a gem. It has a good vibe. Girls in the restaurant are amazing as well as the other staff. Rooms are clean. We will be back soon. Thank you for a good time.

Be sure to read their website before you book. It is exactly what they say. They don't make any excuses. It is not a fancy hotel or a crazy cool bungalow. It's just a great place right on the beach. I don't know that you can get closer to the ocean for less money. My room was small. But it was very clean. It is dated. It needs some updating, and maybe some maintenance. Great, the room was exactly what I expected, and the location was second to none. I would like to stay at this place again. Just because I could grab a cup of coffee, and walk until my feet touched water. I really like this place. It's a little divey. But they don't claim to be anything more than what they are. Just be sure to read their website before you book. Because then you know what to expect!
Okay so the Beach Lodge is for beach folks who want to be on the beach! Not fancy in anyway, just good people who will make sure you get the Port A experience, front and center. Been going here for years!
BAR ONLY DID NOT STAY IN A ROOM.....It's a run-down dive. I happen to like dives. Very very limited beer choices no draft. The view of the gulf is a great perk. Staff are sweet older folks who do a fine job of keeping you with a beer.
Wonderful staff, witty owners, dog friendly, and the beach out my back door....the only downside was that it ended. We I'll be back for more!
Came across this place while out on the beach. We originally went for ice cream but they didn't have any. We decided on shaved ice and wine o ritas instead. The staff was super friendly. They even gave my 4 year old a water gun to play with while we waited for our loaded fries!
