Review Sharpe Hill Vineyard - Pomfret

Really love the look, feel, atmosphere and even smell of this place. You can't have more country charm than this place. Has a bunch of cool little knickknacks placed around tastefully. There is a little sitting room inside that has Hemingway feels to it. There is an outdoor patio with metal garden chairs and tables. The porch has incorporated a few trees in the middle and a large stone rock. There is also a little grassy area where you can enjoy their wines. You can take a little walk down the driveway along the stone fences and get pretty view across the road of a wooded area and old barn. There are plenty of flower and very peaceful feel to the whole place. My wife got the 13 tasting set. She is a wino and sells wine herself and was very impressed with the wines. He rated most of pretty high. Not a dessert wine fan, but liked she enjoyed theirs. Kurt was our server and was super knowledgeable, witty and attentive. Nestled in the county side of Pomfert CT. This is well worth the drive to enjoy a few hours away from the world sipping on some wine.

Lovely venue. Was great to enjoy the wines in the shade of a huge oak tree, looking over the vineyards. Wine was fine. I enjoyed the red seraph the most. The wine servers were very kinda and knowledgeable. We didn't eat, but the restaurant smelled delicious, and others said it was delightful. Reasonable priced tasting $10/6 wines or $15/13 (which was all of their varietals).

This place is beautiful. The first winery in Connecticut that I actually liked all the wines in the tasting. The only negative is that the tasting is outside and the service was very slow. It was a holiday weekend so I have to give them a little slack.

Beautiful vineyard out in the country with a surprising variety of both red and white selections, and a very attentive staff! Our server Nick was very knowledgeable.

Very beautiful place. So relaxing sitting outside under the shade tree. We did the full tasting and ordered the cheese plate. They brought the tasting to your table and were very knowledgeable about all the wines and the processes. They didn't hurry you along. We loved the wines, the service and the atmosphere and would highly recommend.

This was a wonderful experience. The wine was amazing and the food was very good. Friendly staff, they made the experience worth the drive.

We had such a good time here. Great tasting, knowledgeable and very friendly staff. A good variety with something for everyone. Plus they do dinners with reservations of course on Friday, Saturday and sundays.

I would give this a 5 star review, as I love the location and the wines are good. We've been to the restaurant in years past, and it was a very nice dining experience. The tasting was enjoyable, even with covid restrictions in place. The fall day was gorgeous, and the golden leaves were spectacular. Even the restroom was picture perfect! However, when we were leaving, a woman who I assume was the owner or a manager, insisted on pushing her political views on us. We tried not to engage her, but she was persistent. I finally told her that we didn't agree with her views and we left. It put an odd damper on an otherwise great winery experience. We'll still return, but they might take into consideration that their customers don't go there to have unwelcome political viewpoints imposed upon them.

Our server was Lexi she was funny, out going and an she was an awesome and beneficial staff at sharp hill and we had a great. One of the family owner Willy was accommodating and went over and beyond to please us while we where there also including Lexi. Unfortunately as a customer we experienced and felt uncomfortable when another family owner degraded and insulted His own family member at the counter in public.

Sharpe Hill is a beautiful setting to enjoy a superb meal and taste some wonderful wines. For those who favor sweet wine, this place is not for you. The barn restaurant provides a romantic dining experience and much ambiance, candles lit all around, ice buckets at each table to keep your wine chilled to perfection. We were seated at a table for two by the gas fireplace, which is an amazingly authentic replica of an antique open kitchen fireplace. Right down to the ashes, this fireplace looked authentic. It throws some heat, so if you are shooting for this table, dress accordingly. The waitstaff was gracious and attentive. My husband ordered the Fench onion soup for an appetizer, and it was the very best he has tasted. The aroma was wonderful. The only thing I would say in caution about this restaurant is that to get to the dining area you have to climb a fairly steep staircase. For older people or those with knee or hip problems, this might prove difficult. Please take this into consideration. Overall, we had an absolutely perfect night out for our anniversary!!! Thank you!!!

Absolutely beautiful outside area and we loved our sweet server, Felicity. We both were surprised when the bottle of wine we ordered was ten dollars more than the price on the wine menu the hostess gave us as we were waiting to be seated for lunch. When we questioned this, our server said there is another price list for the restaurant but we were not given that price list. Food was very good as was the wine and ambiance!

We have been coming to Sharpe Hill for years. Just recently came back and it was wonderful. I always find it funny when I read comments and reviews that give CT vineyards 1 or 2 stars because the wines are sweeter than their used to. It is a CT vineyard with Northeast grapes. If you want dry CA reds than go to a liquor store and buy CA or Italian Wine. Will always love this place and the wine over the years have gotten even better. My opinion the best vino CT has to offer! This coming from a guy who likes dry reds 😁
