Totally unique and different. It sounds so weird to put coconut or other fruits on a hot dog but it was delicious! Loved their Hawaiian mustard. It really goes complete the dish. Would definitely come here again.

Divine dogs. We grabbed two with star fruit and pineapple relish and hot chili and jalapeño sauces and headed for poipu beach. 🏖. We loved them, worth every penny.

Seriously the best hotdogs we have ever had! It’s been 11yrs since our honeymoon and we still remember how good they were! We want to get back to Kauai, but haven’t been able to yet. You can be sure when we get there, Pula Dog is on our must do again list!!

This place is awesome! I am not a big fan of hot dogs in general...but I like the dogs at Puka Dog! I had the garlic sauce, pineapple relish, and Hawaiian mustard. I’m glad we are on Kauai a few more days...we will stop by again!

Was it a good hot dog yes, a life changing hot dog, no! I would have one again but it’s nothing I’m gonna go running back to. They have few options to make your dog your own. The jalapeño wasn’t that really spicy. The fresh lemonade was pretty good but also not great. It’s all take-out & a line easily forms outside. Which they need to teach their young help, some blonde teenage boy to be more customer friendly. His attitude & tone in dealing with guests needing to stand in certain areas needs major improvement.

Puka Dog is definitely a unique spot for hot dog enthusiasts. What I emphasize the most is their original hot dogs and the delicious sauces available to accompany them. The flavor combination is simply exceptional, and every bite is a unique culinary experience. It’s worth mentioning that this place is very popular, and there are often lines to get in. However, the wait is worth it for the quality of the food they offer. While it’s true that the staff is not always very friendly, once they take your order, the service is surprisingly fast. This means you can enjoy your tasty hot dogs in no time. In summary, Puka Dog is highly recommended for those seeking a unique culinary experience with creative hot dogs and delicious sauces. Despite the popularity and occasionally unfriendly service, the quality of the food makes the visit worthwhile.

Puka Dog was a great place to stop in while we were checking out Poipu Beach. The staff was super friendly and they got us our food quickly. We got 2 polish dogs. Mild garlic sauce, pineapple relish, Hawaiian mustard: this was our favorite combo of the two mostly because of the pineapple relish. Next time I'd like to try it with the spicy jalapeno or hot garlic sauce. Spicy jalapeno garlic sauce, mango relish, Hawaiian mustard: this one was really good! The spicy jalapeno garlic tied with the mango relish reminded me of mango salsa. Overall delicious!

Long queues to enter the place but a good bite for a beach day! We enjoyed the hot dog with mango relish and they recommended us combining it with the yellow mustard! The lemonade is also worth it but overall a bit expensive for the menu. The Brennecke’s Deli is also in the same location and offers delicious sandwiches for a cheaper price!

They had veggie option too folks! They don’t make the sausage in house but their sauces that goes in are very good!! Level 3 spice is good for those who like spicy but not overwhelming. Personally $12 for 1 soy dog is a little expensive. Lemonade was freshly squeezed right in front of us and was delicious. Buy food here and go to the beach across and enjoy it!!

We stopped here for lunch and it was so worth it! Easy to order and quick service even though the line was outside of the door! All the sauces in the hot dog were so special! We took our hot dogs to the park right across from the restaurant and got to eat our lunch with a beautiful view of the ocean. Would highly recommend stopping by this place!

Right on the main street of Poipu Beach is Puka Dogs. This is a perfect treat for you to grab and enjoy on the beach and enjoy the beautiful views. It is an easy grab and go process for the perfect beach snack. You choose between a Polish or Veggie dog. Then you decide on the spice level of your garlic lemon secret sauce, your tropical relish, and if you want Hawaiian mustard or not. I went Lava heat (habanero) with the coconut relish and hawaiian mustard. Service was fairly quick and easy. I enjoyed my Puka dog on the beach with some Maui chips - delicious and unique take on a hot dog. Highly recommend giving it a try!

Literally the first place I come to when visiting Kauai, that’s how much I enjoy this spot. Puka Dog is a treasured gem in Kauai and offers a unique style hot dog that you will be hard pressed to find anywhere else. The sauces are absolutely what make the meal and I would recommend getting the mid to higher spice if you want a bit more flavor in the dog. One may hold you over but I recommend two dogs if you’re particularly hungry. Just an iconic spot with some tasty tasty local sauces and flavors.

Absolutely a great spot to crush your dog cravings! They have local ingredients combined with a delicious polish dog. This will not disappoint and a great way to check out a hot little hole in the wall on the island. Be prepared to wait in line for this one!

Don’t let the “As Seen On TV” tagline put you off - these hotdogs are fantastic and worth queuing for! The place is super busy with a constant line out the door and around the corner, but the queue does move very quickly. Staff are really friendly and helpful, and they have a well organised system so the food comes out quickly and efficiently. The lemonade is freshly squeezed and made while you are placing your order! You don’t get fresher than that. And it tastes incredible. We had the 1/2 sugar option and it was plenty sweet enough and really refreshing. There are lots of customisation options for the hotdogs- we went with mild and had one with mango salsa, one with Pineapple. And both with the Auntie Lilikoi’s Hawaiian mustard, which was strangely delicious and very moreish. A definite must-try when at one of Kauai’s most beautiful beaches. Highly recommended!

This place is so amazing! Only down side is the long line. Me and my husband waited about 45 min. But you will be happy once you got your hot dog. I got the coconut relish and my hubby got pineapple. Both 15-10 must try!!

Believe hype. Oh my — I am supposed to be off carbs. But could not resist. It was worth the wait and the carbs. The dogs are awesome. Get the Lava. Not that spicy but it packs the heat that all polish dogs should have. Great stuff. Best part — customer service. The lady at the counter gave us advice on what to order and what flavors worked well together. Great stuff.

These hot dogs were pretty tasty. I got the Kauai Special (from the website) and my husband got the Waimea Canyon (also from the website). Both were very good although I liked the mango relish on mine more than the banana relish on his. When we went around 10:30 there was no line which was nice. Service was pretty quick and the Lilikoi lemonade was delicious. I recommend this place, but I’m not sure I’d wait 45+ minutes as others have done in the other reviews.

Solid spot and the hot dogs were delicious. The LINE WAS SO LONG. We went around 12:30pm and the line wrapped around the building. It took approximately 40 min time in line to hot dog in hand. They stuck the buns on these little toasters and then they add a little crunch to them and it was really tasty. You pick your sauces and they squeeze them into the buns and add the hot dogs. The lemonade was really good too. Try to go early if you don’t want to wait in the huge line.

This place was crazy busy but the line moved pretty fast. We both had the polish dog with mild sauce, mango relish with mustard and a lemonade to drink and we enjoyed our meal. The staff are very helpful with explaining how the menu works.

Iconic. And Great hot dogs. We had the Polish ones and they were great. Their fresh squeezed lemonade is also yummy. It’s a to-go place but the beach across the street has picnic tables.

It sure is different, but tasty, I got the spicy, but next time I'm there, I'll take it up a notch, I kept telling my friends to stop here and finally they did and everyone liked them. Thank you
