Review Tcby - Plano

Betty Flynn
I am thrilled that this TCBY store has non-dairy (almond milk) frozen yogurt and it is delicious! They carry two flavors, chocolate and coconut, which are each delicious - and even better mixed. The store is clean and bright and the personnel are friendly and helpful.

I hope the owner can find another spot to open in. I loved this TCBY. They carried vegan-friendly selections in both soft serve and the behind-the-counter harder stuff. They had lots of fruit selections and even dark chocolate chips. I'm really sad to discover it's closed now. I was there just a couple of months ago.

I have been to this TCBY 3 times, all because my sister has a fy addiction and all with the new ownership of David and Regina Tomlinson. The yogurt is always on the runny side. It seems like it's just not cold enough. They do (like most) have a variety of flavors they rotate out. Each time I went in my favorite flavors were not on display. I am sure that I could have asked and they would have gotten me some of what I wanted from the back but that leads to the next problem and the part of this shop I absolutely hate. The owners and staff Never Stop Talking to you. It crosses over the "friendly" line and becomes annoying. One visit a young girl behind the counter with a lisp literally kept interrupting a conversation I was having with my sister to put in her two cents. This is probably her training and she thought she was being cute. I just don't care that she thought I should mix flavors and should "live a little." David is so painfully cheerful and loud although I have never actually seen him, I can always hear him from the back of the store. Regina often comes around the counter to interact with us. I don't like this. She walks into my personal space and keeps stepping forward each time I take a step back from her. I get she is trying to be friendly and all that stuff but please take a hint. I'm not super sociable and I don't want to be your friend. I am just trying to squeeze in a one-on-one visit with my sister with her favorite snack while she is in town. Only the first visit did we sit to eat our fy because I had not learned yet that paying did not stop the staff from still trying to talk to you. The seats and tables were sticky. Not as if they hadn't been washed all day but more like they were just being given a once over with a damp cloth. The place is kept pretty chilly considering they are selling frozen treats that aren't all that frozen. The counter is placed on the same side of the shop as the door, making the checkout the first thing you bump into when you walk in. This funnels all customers into doing a little side step maneuvering to get out of the place and escape a never ending complement-fishing conversation with the staff. Recently my sister came into town and I was able to convince her to try a different fy place. I am very relieved she liked it because now I never have to go back to TCBY

They kept the store open late so my group of friends could get our yogurt fix after a hard day of work.
