Review Maht Gaek - Plano

Timothy Chen
Loved the food at this Korean restaurant. It is a small establishment so be prepared for close quarters and possibly a line but it'll be worth it. The staff is polite and attentive and it's pretty admirable how many customers one of their servers can cover. Their menu recommends pork short ribs (original) that everybody in town should try. I tried several other dishes as well to figure out their consistency across the menu and everything tasted delicious. Fresh ingredients as well. Also, a Korean restaurant that refills your side dishes gets a thumbs up from me. I can't wait to come back with friends to try some of their hot pot combos and family style dishes.

Saturday night was very busy. Walk in at 6:30 pm and waited until 7 pm to be seated. But foods were served very quick. It’s one of my favorite Korean restaurants which I keep coming back.

Local Korean diner in the heart of Asian Legacy shopping center. The greatest appeal of Maht Gaek is that it is the only Korean restaurant in the shopping center minus the stalls in the food court. The food here is good, not great. The average grade here is due to the fact that you can get most of the equivalent and comparable quality food at Sokongdong Tofu in the Legacy Food Court for less than here if ambiance is not important to you. The grilled food is good but not quite to the levels of those in Carrollton or Dallas's Harry Hines Korean district. That being said, the grilled pork ribs were excellent. In summary, Maht Gaek is tailored for those who live in Collin County and want Korean food without the hassle of driving to Carrollton or Harry Hines in Dallas

I went there with my Frieds. We all shared the meal by 4… I ate too much and I didn’t need to eat till next late lunch! lol Pancake is good, ribs good, soup is good. So I ate too much.

The Food Here is AMAZING and Reasonably priced too. My family (2 adults and 2 kids) always leave so full and satisfied. I have tried most of their menu and you can't go wrong with your choice. Maht gaek is literally less than 10 mins from where we live so it's very convenient for us to dine in or ordersomething for to go. Friendly staff and clean bathrooms is always a plus!

What a 'hidden' gem, if you like Korean food! Located right behind Chase bank. Great quality authentic Korean cuisine, with generous portions at reasonable prices. I tried the spicy mackerel and wasn't disappointed. Get there when they open or you'll be standing in line-but it's worth the wait. The establishment isn't large so be prepared to get cozy.

The pork neck soup (감자탕) here is super delicious! My husband also loved it. The other meat was a bit too fatty or oily, so I couldn't finish it. The kimchi stew (김치찌개) was also just so-so, wouldn't order it from here again. I would definitely come back for the pork neck soup, though! When you come, expect it to probably be full or have to wait for a table.
