Review The Boiling Pots - Plano

Extreme price inflation but the staff is extremely friendly so I rather spend more for the type of service they provide. Restaurant always cleaned and hardly a wait anymore.

I almost hate to write this review. I say that because if the word spreads it will turn into that other Boiling place that is so crowded that they won't even answer the phone. And honestly, I think Boiling Spot/Pots is better. The price is a little higher per pound, I believe, but the lack of a ridiculous wait and good service, great food makes it worth any dollar value. My wife and I have been coming here for years and we love the shrimp. We don't do crawfish anymore since we feel the shrimp is the better value per pound. We get the sauce heat level as hot. I order a side of French bread which comes with drawn butter. I dump the drawn butter in the bag of sauce and drip the bread into that! Not diet food. Heat level is perfect for us. Shrimp tends to be cooked perfect every time too. It's been hit or miss at the other boiling place. I'm not trying to bash the other boiling place, I love it too but for me this is where I come when I'm in a mood for seafood.

Great food! Awesome customer service! My daughter is addicted and then there’s my 82 year old mom. There is always a war at home if we take leftovers! My daughter will sneak in the kitchen and mom hears her breaking them legs! Sauce is perfect! Timely service! And they are extremely friendly with my grandkids! Guess you can say we are regulars! And the music had me moving more than just the happy food dance! I think most reviews that are bad are because some people go in miserable and angry from something else! 🤷🏼‍♀️ But Boiling Stop NEVER LETS IS DOWN!!

Rudest experience I’ve ever encountered. We decided to leave after 4 separate instances all before being seated. Sad to say they will never earn our business again. What’s more sad is they couldn’t have cared less. We were patrons for many years and so was my extended family. RIP BOILING POTS/BOILING STOP! We took our $300 dinner to another place in McKinney and they did not disappoint.

Horrible service. The managers were yelling at the hostess for trying to seat my party. We waited 64 minutes for a table then finally left. New Orleans Crab Shack is so much better. Everyone there is so friendly and helpful.

This restaurant has changed names/management 3 or 4 times. This current one (now called Cajun Boil Stop) is awful. I ordered the snow crab combo which is 2 clusters. A few of the clusters had little meat in them. It was over cooked and the sauce was just okay. The waitstaff was lazy and not very accommodating when we asked if they could change a tv to a game. The waitress said, "I'll ask, but they probably won't do it." We asked them why not and she said bc they were watching the BET awards ( they being the STAFF, not other customers). I would just skip this place altogetber.

My kids and I got horribly sick after eating here. Puked up the crawfish in the parking lot. Called the restaurant to let them know. They told me we needed to go to the doctor before they would do anything about a refund. Worst experience ever.

Update: This place has run down and gone from mediocre to bad . Not sure what happened or if ownership has changed! But the lack of quality in food and a bunch of lazy, unprofessional people running this establishment makes it an even more unpleasant experience. Plus they've gone up on the prices and the food was lacking flavor. Gave it yet another chance and the outcome was even worse. So disappointed!!!! Went for the first time about a month ago. The crab legs were great and perfectly seasoned. Service was not so great. They tried to cram a party of 7 at a table for 5 even though the place was pretty empty. Went back again a few days ago and was highly disappointed in the food and service! Again, the place was fairly empty, but we waited almost 30 minutes just to get our order taken. This was after I walked up to them and asked if we didn't look like we were hungry today! Orders were finally taken, and then out comes 1 entree. 1 entree! They served 1 person and not everyone at the same time. Minutes later the rest of the food arrives. I was sorely disappointed with the crab legs. They were hardly seasoned and lacked the flavor I experienced the previous time. The chicken wings, which were an appetizer but came out with the food, came out half done. My husband's fried fish was good. That was the one positive we had. We finally just called it quits, paid our bill, and left. We will not be spending that much money for non- quality food and their horrendous lack of service..... . Although the servers may have been upset due to not getting paid on their payday.
