Different than what I'm used to - food was prepared very quickly, very nice staff, and the food was good.
It's not the best American Chinese food that I've ever had, but it wasn't bad at all. The hot and sour soup is a tad bland/mainly just tofu and broth. Sweet and sour chicken was made of smaller pieces that were lightly fried, differently than the round pieces I'm used to. Lo mein was as expected. Unlike other reviews, our crab Rangoons were great.

2nd time going here.. always quick service.. always pleasant people and the food is good and they give you a huge amount of food .. I've been having problems finding good Chinese food and this place is so far up there with China Palace.. prices are great

Ben Ben chicken and general tsos are delicious! Egg rolls and crab rangoons are ok but I wouldn't reorder, they did however include extra of both and that was really appreciated. But pretty good food for a good price!

We've ordered from here over the years, and the food has always been good. It's got all the American-Chinese takeaway menu standards, and they serve large portions at reasonable prices. The General Tso's chicken has like six little pieces of broccoli in it - so if you want more vegetables, order vegetables. No complaints here! Soups are good.

Incredibly pleased with my experience with Hong Kong taste. Amazing food and service.

We've had Hong Kong Taste a few times since we first found them about 6 months ago and each time it has been exceptional. They're a great value and have good portion sizes. I especially love their homemade pork dumplings!
Tim
Hong Kong taste has fantastic Chinese American dishes at a reasonable price. The portions are generous and the food has all been great for us after three orders. I'd recommend for sure. Hot and Sour soup is my standard choice to get a feel for a new place and theirs is really good. They have the standards nailed.

I ordered the shrimp lo mein and it was delicious! It was probably the best Chinese food I've ever tasted, I'd totally recommend it!

Everything we got was absolutely delicious and I can't express how HOT the temperature of the food was when it arrived!!!
Very polite on the phone and delivery was fast! Definitely recommended!!

Family owned Chinese restaurant. Not much of a sit-in option or environment, but the food is phenomenal. More like comfort/casual food than authentic cuisine.

Best shrimp egg rolls in the north hills period.

I have been a very good customer here for over 12+ years, but when this happened to me, I will NEVER eat anything from here again!!!

An OPENED staple that cut my tongue & cut my mouth. Owner requests that I return the dinner & will make again. YEA RIGHT!!!

Good thing I'm not a child that could've bled out, caused severe injury or even death; & he wants to make it again. 😡

Horrible. Terrible service and food! Hope they go under soon

The first time we order the food was amazing but as we continued to order from here, things started tasting wrong and the orders were wrong and literally looked thrown together. wouldn't recommend

Great food for a great price. For the location of this little hole in the wall I am surprised they have lasted as long as this. I believe that it can be attributed to how well they serve their clients, and they will last long because of this attitude and ethic.

Worst Chinese Food I've ever had. We've been hearing people rave about this place and decided to get take out to give it a try. We are sorry we did now. Wow! We haven't had Chinese food this bland and crappy ever. This is now officially the worst Chinese food I've ever had. I thought the first chinese place I ate it upon arriving to the Pittsburgh Metro area, a buffet place that has since closed and changed owners in Monroeville, was bad- but this place makes that house of crap look tasty.
I don't get the appeal at all. If you don't know what food should taste like, or you plan on emptying a jar of hot sauce on your food so you don't need to know what it taste like - eat here. Honestly though, I can't even justify it based on being cheap food to eat. Its just not good enough to feed to homeless people or your pet.
I understand this isn't real Chinese food, and I get that. I do like having American style Chinese food (see my other reviews). I've been eating various versions of Americanized Chinese food for thirty years from coast to caost and I've never tasted anything so horrible before in my life. I'm hoping it was never this bad before because I'm starting to question why anyone would recommend food this bad. I'm also hoping we got the three worst dishes on the menu. Even the free appetizer was crappy.
We both suddenly felt sleepy and not well after eating so now I worry if we will be sick tomorrow. I really don't understand the appeal, at all. I do hope that they were trying a new cook that they fired today. Fingers crossed.

NOTE: I don't like writing bad reviews, this has been gut wrenching for me to write because many of our friends and acquaintances genuinely seem to like this place. We are stunned at how awful our experience with this place was.

Great food, nightmare delivery experience. I'm not one of those kids that's afraid to call out for a pizza, I don't mind when people struggle with English. I just spent half an hour ordering four items for delivery. If you want Hong Kong Taste, and you should, the food is great for the money, go in person. Only one person ever answers the phone, and she cannot communicate.

Great for the money.. I've only ever ordered out of here, and it's always been delivery, which has been consistently quick every time. It's not the best Chinese food I've had, but their reliability and generous portions have made them my go-to when in the area and feeling too lazy to go out. There's always extra egg rolls or crab rangoon in the bag, so if I'm feeling Chinese for one night, I'll be eating it for two!

Not too impressed. The hot and sour soup wasn't great. The prices were alright but the eggrolls are phanominal. The only thing better than the food is that they dont have a minimum purchase to use a credit card like every other Chinese restaurant.

Hong Kong Taste. This is the best Chinese food I've had in a long time. Prices are reasonable and the people who answer the phone are SO nice. They go out of their way to Thank You. Highly recommended!

Likes. You're not going to find authentic Chinese food at any restaurants. All these Chinese restaurants are all Americanized Chinese food. Now if you want authentic, go to a Chinese depot store and buy all the authentic item separately.

Taste of Hong Kong is good for delivery. If you're looking for great sushi and willing to pick it up try Tai Pai or however u spell it near community market on freeport road

Decent sushi menu, good food overall. My wife and I order from there every once in a while. We were looking around for a place that delivers sushi, and they're the only ones who do. The sushi is pretty good, and has a good bit of the typical sushi selections. The sushi is cut in thick slices.

The chinese food is good as well. Today I'm going to order again so I guess that shows that I do enjoy it. :)
