The food is pretty good, and the service is fast and very friendly. They bring the food to you in the limited-seating dinning area (the seating is only limited because there are always customers there, though the tables need to be updated and arranged correctly). Definitely a good selection of items and toppings, and different types of cheese steaks you can order. The place is dirtier and darker than you see in the photos here, and I feel like I need to wipe my hands every time I touch the ketchup bottles, but it's probably more in my head, and I doubt anyone ever gets sick here. Also, the counter is chaotic, especially during busy lunch hours. There are so many knickknacks and toys that you get squeezed into a small space. Overall, it's a great place to get a good cheese steak, and I will keep coming back here regularly, but it has areas where it can improve, like all restaurants.

This is my favorite place to eat hands down. Great food, great place, great prices. I stopped coming here for about 6 months when I started Ketosis (not eating carbs (bread&stuff)). It broke my heart, but I decided I was going to try their salad... Best decision ever. Even if you are a sandwich lover (I was) give their salad a try. Steak or chicken, when they ask for your dressing, ranch and hot sauce on the side.

Stopped in after years away from downtown and it's still one of the best sandwich shops around, these guys can cook. The small fries are just as large as they always were too, no problem getting full here.

One of my favorite places to eat in Pittsburgh. If you want a tasty cheesesteak that rivals those found in Philly, go here. Don't let the seating area stop you from eating here. It's bad, but the food is well worth it.

I've been looking for a Cheese steak in the area to compete with Uncle Sam's. This is the closest competitor. Meat is flavorful, bread is fresh from Mancinis, cheese is melty and delicious. This will be my new sandwich place for when I am not going all the way to Uncle Sam's. Really good stuff.

Great sandwich! Got the Cathedral...would order again. The staff was super nice and helpful. The place has that "hole in the wall" sort of vibe.

I love Peppi's. While the hoagies are so massive it should feed you for at least two meals, I can never stop myself from finishing the entire thing. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Carol Delight. It's Turkey and Bacon with all the fixings and it's so good, but there are so many other options. The Big Wheeler might be my close second. The bread is delicious, they use Mancini bread, and all their hoagies are made on their flat top grill. It's just so good. You can't go wrong with any choice. There are several different locations throughout Pittsburgh and I've found their execution and quality to be the same at all the locations I've tried. And if you're a kinda gal that needs sides to go with your sammy, you cant go wrong with the cajun fries and onion rings. If you're not a cajun queen, plain ole fries are just as good, but the hint of spicy dusting they put on the cajun fries makes the greasy, beautiful basket of fries a 100!

My favorite place to get lunch downtown. The people here are fantastic and always great to talk to. The sandwiches are fantastic. Run by a family and feels like a family.

Great sandwich shop - the bread is perfect the meats are fantastic and the fries are worth the trip alone. I'll stop by every time I'm back in Pittsburgh...

Consistently providing quality food. Also...even at the height of the lunch rush...staff made a conscious effort to ensure my food was provided while still hot.
