I love the quiet of the rooms, you can barely tell there are other guests. I love the fact that the hotel has a fitness center and a pool, yet there is no damp carpet smell on the floors. The downtown location is just beautiful in the day and at night.
For over $600 for 3 nights, the mold in the shower was unacceptable. The room was tiny, definitely not like the picture I saw when I booked the room. I liked that it was downtown but then again, there's other hotels in the area I'll stay at the next time. There are NO snack or drink machines either! That's so weird😑
They want u to wait for that little Starbucks to open up so u can pay $8 for a drink.
I had to book a one-night stay for work travel on a very short notice! The hotel boasts stunning views of the river, convenient valet parking, and a prime location. The clean room, accommodating front desk service, and the flexibility of a late check-out made this a very pleasant experience for my trip.
I had a great experience here, I think I'll be staying here again next time I visit! Super close to the stadium, it's right next to a station for the train and it's only one stop to Acrisure/PNC Park.
I had called before my visit asking about early check in, and was told that 3 would be the earliest. My flight arrived much earlier, so I stopped by to see if I could at least drop off my bags at around 11am, but the very nice lady at the desk was able to get me checked in right away and upgraded my room!
The only negative is that I was woken up at 2am by a major disturbance in the hallway where people were fighting, which sucked because i had taken a red eye and then went right to the game, so i had very little sleep at that point. But that's not the hotel's fault. That'll happen on a game night when people have been partying!
Overall I had a great time and the value of this place was great for it's wonderful location!
Attended a conference here and enjoyed my stay. Spacious, comfortable, and clean rooms.. had a luxury feel to it. I was on the 19th floor and had great views out my window! Great location in the heart of the river area.
We just spent a week at the Wyndham and had a Grand time. No peeling wall paper, no worn carpet, no noise through the walls, no problem getting an elevator. We were in a king room with the river view. Excellent bed. The room had both a small microwave and a small fridge.
There must be renovated and un-renovated rooms. If you get a room with problems, request another. The hotel is huge and, especially with the recent reviews, I doubt it’s ever full.
Our only complaint is that it’s several blocks to the nearest convenience store for breakfast supplies.
But really, great stay—and reasonably priced compared to other hotels in the area with anything like that view.
I read the reviews on this hotel and was very concerned. I am glad we decided to book as we had a great stay and the hotel was very convenient to the stadium and midtown. Our room was very clean, beds were comfy and the river view on the top floor was amazing. We had a king room with a fridge and microwave and no issues. The service was exceptional and every employee we encountered was awesome.
If you are coming for a Steelers game or just want to be downtown. This hotel is in the perfect location. The rooms are a nice size, but I would say it maybe time to start renovating as you can start to see the wear and tear. I was surprised the rooms didn't have a mini fridge, as that is one of the main things I personally like to use when I go to a hotel. Other than that this Hotel gets the job done, very nice view of the city (depending on floor and side you get) The staff was friendly and respectful. But I'm not really a bad fan of this having to request housekeeping instead of them just checking everyday like how things use to be before the pandemic.
Great place to stay for a game. Only complaint was the food service. It closed way too early after the Pens game and the breakfast buffet was not worth the price. The rooms are good the pool is nice with an awesome view.
I stayed at the Wyndham Grand for a week in July. The staff at the front desk made checking in a pleasure. I was warmly greeted by Jason. My room was wonderful and it looked out to where the 3 rivers converged. The view was excellent. Staff at the hotel could not have been better. The food was really really good! The hotel was clean and classy. My stay was a fantastic experience and I will stay there again on my next trip to Pittsburgh.
