Reviews Streets On Carson

This is an interesting and welcome addition to South Side's restaurants. It's small and casual and serves up some amazing food all around the concept of offering various street food from around the world. The best and most delicious surprise were the chicken confit wings, which were the best I've ever had. They're not Buffalo wings and they're not messy. They are big and tender, with the meat practically falling off the bone and a delicious taste that still has me craving them days later. The small plates all sound so good that we opted to share several rather than fill up on a sandwich and fries. The sandwiches sounded great as well and I'll surely be back to try some out -- as well as more small plates. I do wish that the sandwiches didn't come with fries so that more small plates could be devoured instead. We also tried the chicken samosas (delicious with their dill sauce), the lobster crepe (succulent!) and the tostada with lime chicken and avocados (the least impressive dish that we tried, but delicious nonetheless). Another standout starter was the artisan cheese, which paired three interesting cheeses that were all quite different from one another along with some other goodies including unique pinot grigio gellee cubes. The service is attentive yet appropriately casual. The decor and furnishings are somewhat minimalist yet comfortable. There is a table in each of two windows facing Carson Street, a bar on one side and tables on the other. In a bit of whimsy given the name and concept of the restaurant, the side of each table bears a street sign with the name of one of the neighborhood's streets, which have their own awesome backstory. My only gripe is that the wine and beer list could stand to be a bit more robust. I can understand keeping the wine options down with open bottles (for by-the-glass), but given the worldly nature of the food, more bottled beer options would be in order.

Confit Wings are insanely good! Pork & Broccoli Rabe sandwich, also ridiculous in portion size and flavor! One of my go to places in the south side for a delicious meal & great service!

Very seldom am I blown away by a restaurant, but Streets on Carson did just that. The initial reviews led me to expect great food and an inviting atmosphere. But what I was treated to, words cannot do justice. Owner Lauren, behind the bar, makes you feel like you're old friends visiting her home. A more genuine person you would be hard pressed to find. And her husband and chef, is in a league of his own.

The owners were amazing and so friendly. The food is out of this world! Drafts were what you would expect but the cocktail list is awesome. This is my new favorite place in southside!

Cool concept! Loved that there are local street names on the tables and the table by the window even had a traffic light fixture which was cool. Felt like a decent start up still working through some kinks. Staff was kind enough to comp the japchae we ordered when we commented that it wasn't actually japchae... The steamed buns and the Angus di pomodoro flatbread were both quite tasty. Loved the cauliflower with sweet red peppers also (the saltiness made for good pairing with the other items we ordered) My ginger spritz was delicious and refreshing and my fiance had the Route 66 cocktail (root beer and whiskey). Would definitely try it again

We ended up walking in 30 minutes before they closed. We didn't want to over stay our welcome, but we definitely felt welcome! Would love to come back & explore the menu some more

Food, beer selection, and atmosphere are all top notch. Love the wings and the cheesesteak - I’d take this cheesesteak over one from Philly any day of the week! Lots of art on the walls which is cool. Owner is super cool and the staff is very accommodating. I’m here at least once a month.

Good but not great. Friendly staff, cute vibes, the food was ok, could have been better. The chopped cheese: too many veggies, too much bun, and not enough cheese The potato tornado: This is a dish served on the street and at festivals, I've had it before and when it's done right there IS no sharing because it's too good to share. To me, it was hard potatoes and the curry powder was just too much dry dust and should've been better incorporated into the dish. The potato could've used a soak and pre-fry and it would've been less starchy and crispier and awesome. My friend liked his dirty martini. My wine, granted it was Sunday afternoon, felt like the dregs at the bottom of the bottle.

Creative and delectable small plates from a variety of cultures and cuisines! Friendly and helpful staff and a nest atmosphere. It's a little on the loud side but that just contributes to its coziness. Order the pierogies!

Absolutely a must try. Don't judge a book by its cover. This is maybe my favorite new bar food joint in Pittsburgh.

Very cute and homey place! Unique food, amazing wings, and great service. They feature local art for sale, it was like being in a little art show haha. Definitely check it out.

I can't say enough about this place. The food was great -- they have seitan! & the fries were the best I've had in a long time. The bartender was incredibly friendly & helpful. The walls are covered with interesting pieces of art. It's a hidden gem.

I went to this restaurant to try the bone marrow dish, unfortunately it was not available, might come back by end of 2021, so I asked the waitress about her recommendation, she suggested South Side Beef, Braised beef rib, house made giardiniera, horseradish aioli, arugula, side of braising liquid. I loved it, I’ll go back in Nov/Dec to try the bone marrow. Excellent service and delicious food, my wife ordered Philly Cheese Steak, I tried it and it was great. One last thing, the fries is something else.

Amazing food and great service. The perogies were out of this world! We sampled quite a few menu items and none disappointed. A gem in Pittsburgh, to be sure! I can't wait to visit Pittsburgh again and see what's on the menu then!!

Everything we had exceeded our expectations, this place had been on my list for a while and I’m so glad we stopped in. We got the OG wings and the hot wings as well as the tacos and steamed pork belly buns. So delicious!

And don't forget to show the the staff some love if you're as happy with them as we are! See dessert menu!!! Check out their website in advance. You'll have a hard time not getting one of everything!

This place is great. It is a collection of street food from all over the world. The drink menu is pretty deep and both of the cocktailes my wife ordered were wonderful. The staff was friendly and the service was fast. This place is pretty unique in terms of food and decor. I would highly reccomend eating here if you want a nive inexpensive meal. I probably should've mentioned earlier the plates are actually really big for a tapas resturant. The food quality was great for my wings and my wife's poutine.

Must try! Streets on Carson's theme is that each of their dishes is styled from some part of the world: Malaysia, New Orleans and so forth. Awesome approach and awesome delivery. The wings were flavorful and fall of the bone. Both our sandwiches were tasty and as were the fries. Would definitely go back!
