We found this place in 2020 when we moved here from California. The staff is amazing. The hot food is very good, tempura plates, udon, tataki. The raw fish is okay. It's not the highest quality for sashimi, which I prefer, but their rolls are yummy. I have the atmosphere a three star just because it
We got the $90 Omakase and the restaurant accommodated us by attempting to pair sakes with each of the seven courses.
The Omakase included sushi and nigiri as well as a lot of izakaya style fried and grilled options. Everything was excellent. They had a decent selection of sakes and for an adhoc
Fatty tuna, Uni from Japan, sweet shrimp, and the Takoyaki was to die for. Amazing sushi and everything from the homemade soy sauce to the Wasabi was delicious. Will be coming back on special occasions!
My favorite traditional Japanese restaurant in Pittsburgh. This time I ordered beef tataki appetizer, served with ponzu sauce. Sushi deluxe for main course.
Absolutely delicious. I love that they have traditional sushi offerings like Toro (fatty tuna), umi (sea urchin), tamago (egg), and ikura (sa
Seems like a family run restaurant by Japanese rather than Chinese which is so common. Very friendly wait staff and good food. Maybe a little more pricey than your seemingly Japanese restaurant, but the chefs R e the real deal.
Enjoyed by my Japanese guest so approved!
This was actually one of the best meals I've ever had in my entire life. I kid you not I told my husband that evening that if I had one final meal it would be on my list.
Very authentic restaurant. Service was great. They didn't rush you at all. We actually live in Ohio and would drive just to go t
The first time ever I've had Curry flavored calamari at a Japanese restaurant. Actually, I've never ever seen curry flavored calamari have any restaurant. It was excellent.
A group of 3 of us sampled a half dozen appetizers. Only the cod was a disappointment.
Sushi was very good.
I'd go back anyt
In the abstract, the food was great. However, the ambiance is lacking, and the menu prices are not matched to the overall experience. The service and the kitchen were also somewhat slower than what one would expect based on the prices. Nearly everybody around us went for the hot pot, so we plan to g
This is my favorite Japanese restaurant in Pittsburgh. There is a parking lot across the street. The restaurant itself is located inside of another building.
We had the 10 course omakase. It was an experience that was paced perfectly. The flavors had a good balance to them and you could really tast
Went for our son's birthday and Loved, Love, Loved it! The food was delicious and it was a very unique design in the restaurant. Yasuko (might be misspelling this) was so helpful, attentive, friendly, polite, and made out dinner worry free. We had the best time. You have to check out the restrooms t
All sauces are made in house, huge variety of unique Japanese dishes that have been passed down directly from Japan. No other place in Pittsburgh offers this one of a kind Asian experience. Recently rated the best Japanese Restaurant in the Pittsburgh Post Gazette.

The food is so fresh and absolutely amazing. Honestly some of the best Japanese food I have ever had. The service is consistently great, they have all known the menu so well and gave great recommendations. It's a must go to!
Kiku is the best hidden gem spot of Pittsburgh.
It’s been around forever and not enough people know about it. The sushi is FRESH and the service is excellent. Everything from their miso soup to their sushi platters and beef tatami to their miso black cod is absolutely delightful.
When you enter th

This is the most authentic Japanese restaurant in Pittsburgh. Everything they make here is fresh and delicious. The salad, tempura, soup, and sushi that I got were all amazing. Hands down my favorite sushi anywhere. It makes me feel like I’m back in Japan.
By far, the best Japanese cuisine restaurant I have had the pleasure of dining at in the northeast! My wife and I had a few appetizers, a main course for two, a few beverages, and finally ended the evening with mochi 💕
Good job, Kiku Japanese Restaurant keep up the great work.
Food was incredible and were all authentic! Sashimi and peony shrimp were fresh making me feel like I’m in the ocean! Will visit again soon!!!
Awhile back, my fiancé’s mother took us here when she visited us from Japan. Everything was amazing! We sat at the sushi bar and ordered. The sushi chef himself was from Japan, so he, my fiancé and his mother had an interesting conversation about different places to go in Japan. Loved the experience
