Delicious and fantastic service. Every time I visit a Thai restaurant I order BBQ chicken and this place have the best. The stir fried vegetable with pork belly was really good too and the Hot Pot Tom Yum was flavorful. Definitely a place to visit when you are in Pismo Beach.
GOOD thai food in Pismo, dishes were good, some of the soups weren’t well seasoned, and the mango rice dessert wasn’t too good because it had a bit of drizzle on top but it was just rice and mango, not too sweet. The Pineapple Curry was really good though, I can’t say bad service because there was one server and they did their very best, good spot!
I just had the chili basil dish with basil rice. It was delicious. It was also quiet not like some of the other places in town and the price was very good! I'm looking forward to coming back.
Very good Thai restaurant. Unfortunately the night we came, it was very short-staffed, which the hostess/waitress/bartender/busboy/cashier/whatever warned us when we arrived. Although she said the wait may be slow, it actually was pretty good. After we were seated, she brought our beverages and took our order. We all ordered curry and rice.
I ordered the coconut curry with chicken with 3/5 hot/spicy. We shared the coconut rice and garlic rice. Everything was delicious and generous portions.
Bottom line - except for the lack of a full bar and more people on staff, the meal was great and the service amazingly good. I definitely want to come back soon.
Friendly service, fresh vegetables, but food didn't have layers of flavor I expect from Thai. Added spice made it spicy, but still not flavorful. We had 3 dishes all with same experience. Thai tea was excellent.
This place is awesome! Food is so good, and portion sizes are very generous. I left feeling stuffed. Don't miss out on their coconut water served in a fresh coconut husk and their custard dessert baked in a fresh coconut husk. We got pineapple fried rice with shrimp, shrimp fried rice, noodles with shrimp and noodles with mock duck. The mock duck is made of tofu and it tastes very good. The ambiance and decor is very well done and the staff are so friendly and helpful. We will definitely visit again the next time we're in town!
I really enjoyed the food here. We ordered the spicy fried rice with chicken and the garlic beef dish to share. Both were delicious. The service was amazing. Food came out very quick! The portions are decent. The only reason i rated it 4 and not 5 is because the fried rice came with very little chicken, probably less than 10 pieces. And the garlic beef didn't come with any rice and it was an extra charge to be added.
My wife is vegan and we ordered two orders of fresh spring roll. Again we order two and the server took it apond herself to change our order to just one. I understand a normal person would get one and share it with the party. We are not normal people we eat vegan and we try to get full with fresh items. I would of given them a five star but I had to get up to look for my server to bring us the the spicy 🔥 Chile. We let her know we needed the spicy salsa when we ordered. But she didn't bring it.
Amazing Thai food as always from the great people of Thai Talay. They do take some time to prepare the food, as true quality takes time, but it is so worth the time/cost! The food is some of the best food in the area. Get some coconut rice, it's so good!
Food was not as good as before. The pumpkin pieces in the curry felt a bit stale and tofu in another dish was cold, like put after the dish was prepared.
We are from Australia & have been traveling around the U.S. We happened upon this restaurant in Pismo. Emily & Matthew (waiters) are the best we have experienced - they are discreet, attentive & friendly. Their service was exceptional. We went by their recommendations for the dishes & it was superb. Try the Chicken & Cashew Nut (one of the best versions of this dish we have ever had) & the Sizzling Thai Beef Short Ribs.
This was some of the best Thai food I have ever had. Good vegetarian food is hard to find in Pismo Beach, but this place was extremely accommodating. The wait was long (they are short staffed because of COVID), but we ended up with free mango sticky rice at the end. If I ever end up in Pismo Beach again, I will be back to Thai Talay!
We went there yesterday afternoon for lunch after checking the ratings and were amazed at how much we all loved the food and the service.
I am a vegetarian and don't eat fish, meat or eggs. The server seemed very knowledgeable about the dishes that could be made with my preferences without having to go back and check with the kitchen staff.
Even when she placed the spice rack at our table she indicated which sauce had fish oil making to ensure I did not eat something I did not want to eat by mistake.
We ordered a Tom yum soup and crab dish for the non veg eaters and pad thai and papaya salad for myself. All the dishes were excellent.
My first time in Pismo and at Thai Talay, and I was very pleased. The wait staff was friendly and helpful, my grandma had never had Thai food before so she was unsure of what to eat. Theyg gave recommendations according to what she liked and disliked, and she said herself it was better than what she expected. I myself love Thai food, and the Curry was amazing😍😍
I came here 2 years ago at the start of a week-long vacation with my husband and three-year-old son. We loved it. The food was delicious the service was not fantastic but was pretty good. We're actually on our way there right now. We just ended a week long road trip and figured will spend one night in Pismo and enjoy this Delicious Restaurant
Good food. Good service. Away from the big crowds but close enough to it. Parking !
The pad Thai and fried rice dishes were scrumptious. Fried rice light and not greasy. Pad thai noodles just the right consistency. Sauce bright, not spicy. Excellent, attentive service. Food delivered promptly. Location is ideal - can get right on /off the 101. This was our second visit. We have already made it "our" Thai restaurant.
My wife and I have been frequenting this restaurant for 5-6 years. The quality of the dishes is among the best and most consistent of ANY of the restaurants we frequent in the area. Probably THE best Thai restaurant we know (we're from the Bay Area). Not everyone loves Thai food. If you do......you owe it to yourself a visit. If you're not familiar or not sure if you like Thai food......take a chance. Another this we love about this restaurant is the ambiance - peaceful! If you want to eat in peace......go there.
The ONLY issue we've ever had at this restaurant is spotty service. In the past it was it or miss, but in recent visits it's been very good/excellent. Bottom line though.....great food!
