There's so many restaurants in Pickerington - whenever we think we tried them all we find another one! Genuwine was a very nice find, they have a large selection of all the European beer bottles I like and my butternut squash ravioli with eggplant tasted most excellent.
They didn't bring bread to our table (but asked if we wanted any) - instead they gave us some kind of shaved ice with pineapple and mango-habanero flavor, which we found interesting.
Preparing the food might have taken ever so slightly longer than in most of the chain places - but they assured us that everything was being prepared from scratch - can't complain about that.
My wife and I really enjoyed Genuwine! She had Chicken Marsala and the Serving size was way more than she could eat. I had the Tuscan Blackened Salmon. The flavors were amazing and just the right amount of seasoning. We will be back for sure!
Great atmosphere with a more upscale dinning room, and a separated bar area. Great selection of mixed drinks, wine and craft beer. Great service. I haven't had enough of the entrees to review the food.
Everything was great. The food and service were both exceptional. The place has a very nice atmosphere and small extras made it even more enjoyable. Things like sparkling water, instead of tap, Italian Ice aperitif, and hot towels that "magically" rise.
They have a great wine list and most are available by the glass or the bottle. We went for my birthday, so they also gave me free dessert.
What a fantastic dining experience! This place has some very nice aspects of dining that seems hard to find elsewhere. It was high quality food with a very personal touch. It all started out with this delicious sorbet coming out on a liquid nitrogen bowl! I ordered Caesar salad, shrimp scampi, and a flowerless chocolate cake for dessert. Delicious. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere, and provided a pleasant place for a date with my wife. We also got to meet the owner. This is truly a family owned business, and it was neat to eat at a place where they treated us like family. It was well worth the drive past all the restaurant chains in Polaris.
We have been looking for a relaxing, upscale, adult dining experience since moving to OH 15 yrs. ago, and were pleased that Genuwine's
offered that.
We had our first dining experience there last night and, starting with the ambiance, were not disappointed in any way.
We were told up-front by staff that if we had a limited time schedule to please let them know, as this is a much slower dining environment.
Food was delicious and well-prepared. Very nice presentation on the zucchini appetizer. Salads gave a hint of all ingredients with not one ingredient overpowering another. Entree portions were plentiful.
Expect to spend $35 - $50 per person, including drinks, appetizer, (dessert?) and tip.
We did not know about this place before last night, so I have to say that advertising may need to be bumped up until a good clientele base is established and word-of-mouth takes over.
We will definitely be back, bringing others who will appreciate the intimate, vintage dining experience!
If you're looking for a new place with good, home cooked food, this is the spot for you. Even on a busy night, our server took the time to explain menu items to us, recommend drinks to compliment our meal and even hung out a bit to make sure we were having a good time.
The food is delicious, but because this is a place that wants to provide you fresh, quality food, you will wait a bit longer than you would at a comparable chain restaurant so keep that in mind before you complain. You wouldn't rush mom, dad or Grandma in the kitchen would you? No, because you know it's worth the wait.
Extensive wine list. Grade A liquor. A great place for an escape for the evening. Definitely date night material. It's easy to see why the dining room was full even with blizzard like conditions outside. I'll definitely be back for more!
