Enjoyed their beers today, great and delicious brews with a grand variety and unique flavors. Did not try the food this go around, a little too hot outside to want to stick around. AZ fault, not the brew.
Seems like a secret hideout, every time I come its quiet. I hope they’re doing well though because everything is amazing. I’ve only ever had the pretzels and they are always so good. The beer is top notch. It seems all the other menu items are made with passion, maybe one day I’ll try something else. My one complaint is the hours. They are closed Monday-Wednesday and they close pretty early.
4.9 stars and over 100 reviews? It lived up to expectations. My sour beer was crazy sour but really good. They gave me a raspberry syrup to cut the sourness and it gave the beer a whole new complexion. Very cool. Our tacos were delicious, potato and burritos were great. Only slight miss was the deconstructed jalapeno popper pizza which was a little heavy on the cream cheese.
The guys working there were super nice and helpful.
There's nothing here I didn't like. Let's start with beer since it's a brewery. They have cask-conditioned beers, which is rare. They also run the gammut from hazy IPA to stout to various Belgian styles (the quad was my favorite).
Then there's the food. Excellent pulled pork sandwich, great green chili baked potato and my commando sandwich was excellent. Everything was also reasonably priced.
Then there's the atmosphere. On the Saturday night we were there, it was quiet and laid back. You order at the bar, both food and drink. The bartender knows his stuff and is very friendly. They also have good seating and board games.
If we lived closer, this would be a frequent hangout.
(I guess we should've taken a photo before devouring everything.)
Ever smoke a potato? Me either, but here they do it for you and boy are they delicious! And there are so many topping options to enhance the spud even more. I wanted to try their house smoked pork belly so I ordered the Papa Pig potato with all the fixin's and I've never had such a melt in your mouth pork belly!
My friend indulged in the Buster Burger: 1/3 lb burger on a brioche bun, cheese, balsamic caramelized onions and chili pepper aoli with a side of smoked potato salad with sour cream, bacon, and dill.
John was tending bar and he really knows his beers and helped me choose my flight--usually I'm disappointed by some, but every one, especially the darks, were delicious. I especially enjoyed their Black Jack Black Cream Ale has added black malt to Happy Jack and nitro, so it was like a Guinness but surprisingly had more of a richness of flavor.
Oh, I must not forget the building! It's from 1947 and has had many incarnations, but I'm glad it no longer sells sheet metal or used tires, but beer and smoked potatoes, and that there is also about 3,000 sq. ft. patio space to enjoy as well.
Great place! First thing dog friendly, meet a beautiful dog from another patron. The beer selection was awesome- something for anyone's taste. We tried 2 flights my favorite was the Salty Senora (I love Salty & Citrus), husband favorite was Heart of Darkness (Black IPA). Took a bottle home to try BBA Belgian Cherry Dubbel. Atmosphere was chill, service was great. Thank you Brewmeister Matt & Owner John - these guys fun to talk to, friendly and very hospitable. Food was tasty, loved the green chili pork taco and the Carolina sauce on the pulled pork sandwich. Husband had the pulled pork baked tater with Carolina sauce and enjoyed it very much. Definitely will be back. Check this place out when possible.
Amazing brewery best place to fill a growler Happy Jack IPA is the best brew in town!!! Good snacks while you are there try smoked sausage or the bacon wrapped jalapeños smoked baked potato with protein is my favorite!! Grand has a great variety of craft beer! Something for everyone taste and palate
This place is amazing!!! Everything from the beer, to the food, the atmosphere, and the people!! We originally planned on staying for a drink or two, but ended up staying until they closed!! John also gave us great suggestions for other delicious hidden food spots in the area that we tried and also would rate 5 stars, so really this place should get way more than 5 stars!!!!!! We will be telling people about this place!!!
Had the pleasure of experiencing this little gem this past weekend. Everything about this place is perfect. You'll have no problems finding free parking, the decor is pleasant, service is great, and their food is AMAZING. Never had a smoked potato before, but I'll be back for more. What I enjoyed most was how they served their beer. Sizing came in 4oz, 10oz, & 16oz glasses (there's one more size, but I can't remember. Flights are only $7! Go out and support local! This place will not disappoint.
Amazing food, family friendly specialty craft beer bar.
I stopped in while cruising the car club that happens on Saturday nights to grab a couple munchies. The staff were all friendly and happy to be there. The service was prompt and adequate.
I requested a smoked potato and some beer cheese soup. I'm a bit picky, so I didn't want the option of the potato with soup around it in their fancy style. The chef, Sam, came out and discussed my order at my request and made it fast and right. The owner was circulating with guests and spent some time talking to me as well. They both have a combined gift that makes this place great.
The smoked potato was far better than I would expect. I usually waste alot and never eat the skin, but I was scraping every last piece off those skins, it was such a great unique flavor.
The soup was served nearly and topped with what Sam said were in house made croutons. The beer flavor was mellow and present. The consistency was ideal and the cheesey flavor shines through.
The crowd is mixed with those who appear to be well known and then those who just stopped in like myself. All seem to be treated equally.
The atmosphere is cool calm and collective. There's a variety of table heights and barside seating and a seating area with a prime view of the cars outside. The doors are garage style and open, but the breeze is nice and cool. Parents with their kids are enjoying meals. There was a local artist who had some pictures on the wall I was able to meet and talk to briefly.
This was by far more relaxing than most any bar or restaurant with a bar that I have visited. I'm full, but will come.back again for their smoked pulled pork and stuffed jalapenos wrapped in bacon next time.
Thanks Grand Avenue Brewing Company for the relaxing place and delicious food.
