I traveled over an hour..checked website to verify hours. Only to get here and have it be closed for the month for vacation. I totally think all should get a break...but please update your website. I don't want to mess up your food ratings, so keeping your 5 star in anticipation of my next trip. ( Only way I could comment on your vacay post).
Great bakery! Hard to find a good place for poppyseed cake and kolache, but Jana's is the go-to! Kolache dough is of the shortbread variety.
I've been meaning to stop here for a while now and I'm glad that I finally did. Stopped for dinner rolls to go with a soup and found much much more. The rolls were perfect, nice thin crust, soft and doughy inside. Had a meringue pastry that was amazing. Purchased an crumb cake and French Danish that I haven't dug into yet. House cured sausage both wet and dry, absolutely fantastic. Ursula is extremely friendly and helpful. We talked about our kids and life and had a very pleasant conversation. Oh yeah my bill was like 12 bucks, Wow!
Amazing place to buy polish food such as pastries, shelf food and of course, sausages. They also let you ship items to Europe using the "Atlantic Express" service. Overall a great place to shop.
If you like off the wall bakery goods this place is for you spectacular, cakes are out of this world. Also if you like bacon the bacon they have there melt in your mouth it will start your day off great and and help you have a great week and your tummy won't feel so bad either.
My gosh is this place killing it with their online reviews. Congratulations on achieving four point eight stars. These impressive reviews are because this quaint little European bakery is ran by some very nice folks. It is even worth driving way out of your way to drop on in here.

Lovely little Specialty Shop/Bakery. Love their bread with our favorite being their LARGE rye that you need to cut in half to get sliced. We try to get 6 loaves or so because it is This place also carries many items Eastern European items. I am sad they closed shop in Litchfield but they are worth the trip. One suggestion to customers: order the bread at least one day in advance to ensure there will be some to buy when you get there.
Don't get me wrong, they have other bakery items as well but we're not much on sweets :)
The people working here are all so friendly. The owners as well, after all the work they need to do before the shop opens, I'm surprised they still have the energy to smile. Great work
What a great find! While they are not exactly cheap, they are worth it. They know their products and were able to help select the perfect meats, kielbasa, and pastries to produce a European table setting to be proud of. Thank you!
After being out of state for 15 months, I was very pleased this bakery is still open. Always something different to choose from. Prices are fair. I will continue to give her my business.
