Absolutely by far the best Mediterranean food and hospitality in the Valley of Sun!!! It’s a place you go to step in the door and leave everything else outside and are transported into a place where you just feel like you stepped into your family’s kitchen, filled with so much love and food. The food is clean tasting, fresh, and and absolutely delicious!!!! I highly recommend everything on the menu...seriously, there is not one thing I haven’t had I wouldn’t recommend! My faves are the falafels and the lemonade.... yet the list could seriously be the entire menu...lol!!! The owner Isam.... awe he is the heart and soul of this establishment as well as his team!!! The love shows in the food. This place is by far a hidden gem in the Valley of the Sun!!!

Awesome! The people are friendly and helpful; the food was excellent; and the food was made to order. Most importantly to us is that they serve delicious gluten-free pita and pita chips. They also were more than happy to accommodate our no dairy restriction.

Baklava: Sweet/not too sweet, SO moist and full of honey. Shawarma: Even just its scent is satisfying. Hummus: So friggin' delicious. Falafel: Flavorful and crispy. Salad: Fresh, bright, and delicious. Lemonade: You can taste the subtle hint of rose water, and the mellow sweetness of agave. It's the best lemonade I've ever had (and the rest of Phoenix agrees!) Price: Affordable and is followed with large portions. Isam: Gentle, friendly, and genuine. I braved 16th st. during rush hour (something I try to avoid) and every second was worth it.

I have been going to the Middle Eastern Bakery since I was a child. They have always been our go-to place for our Toubuli and grape leaves so we can make my great-grandma's sarma. The Owners and employees are the sweetest people, always greeting you with a smile on their face. I love the Middle Eastern Bakery! They are the best!

What a terrific experience we had at the Middle Eastern Bakery and Deli! The service was wonderful and they accommodated my gluten free needs with many choices. They have the most amazing gluten free pitas, breads, hand pies, pita chips, and even gluten free BAKLAVA! FYI, get their lemonade because it's amazing. The owner was very helpful and also taught me about some of the unique beads that they have and the purpose and culture behind it. This place is also a mini market so although it feels a bit tight when ordering, there's plenty of room at the tables. The whole place is thoroughly decorated and there is authentic art on the wall, some of it 100 years old! It was a wonderful meal and a memorable experience.

The customer service here was top notch, amazing, all of the ladies were so sweet. The food is definitely worth the stop in here and they have gluten-free options for my daughter who has celiac disease. They have a great selection of Middle Eastern groceries as well and Frozen groceries if you are not wanting to dine in but maybe take something home. But they have a fresh restaurant as well and their gluten free pita is so amazing.

So yum! Typical deli style- a store with dry, refrigerated and fresh counter goods as well as a dine in table section. Authentic food and friendly, neighborhood atmosphere with the staff (on my third visit my two month old was crying, and one of the staff asked if they could hold the baby so I could eat 😭🥰) I go any chance I get!! Also love the fresh feta and olives you can buy behind the counter.

This review is 2 years over due. Two years ago we traveled to Phoenix and discovered the Middle Eastern Bakery. We recently visited Phoenix this month- April 2021. It is hands down the best middle eastern food we have ever had (and that’s saying a lot from New Yorkers). The gyro platter, lemonade, pita and baklava (especially the birds’ nest) is to die for. In a one week trip, we visited about 6 times and took food in our carry-on bags. While the food is exceptional, the best reason to go is for the owners. Isam and his wife started Middle Eastern Bakery ages ago, and their smiling faces will make you feel immediately at home. Anyone who is lucky enough to share a coffee and baklava will surely do what we do—- recommend Middle Eastern Bakery to everyone who goes within a 200 miles radius of Phoenix.

Pictures show the coffee and baklava I had today but nonetheless this is an amazing place! My girlfriend and I come here all the time, the owners are very friendly and their customer service is exceptional! The food is always prepared with love, cooked right, and has nice presentation! I sincerely recommend coming here, especially if you’re into Middle Eastern or Mediterranean food.

This Restaurant and Deli and Grocery Store has been around almost forever, and it is always delicious food. Tonight was takeout tabouli, halloumi cheese, zatar Pita, feta pita, some Turkish delight, and pickled beets and turnips. I'm waiting until I get home before eating, looking forward to an excellent dinner Back again after a while. Same great service, same delicious foods. Trying the plum preserves this time

Excellent food. It is a small Middle Eastern grocer with about 6 four place tables. There is only 4 or so parking places in front, but if you drive thru a small alley there is ample parking behind the building. As you enter you will walk into the grocery and order on the left side at the bakery counter. The left wall has a menu with a large selection of delicacies to order. After you place your order you will go into the dinning area in the front left side of the store. The dinning area is a bit cramped with the six tables. The chairs are traditional diner style. Comfortable enough to eat but you won't want to linger. Food is excellent. Everything was made in a traditional style. They properly use tahini in hummus no peanut butter here. The babaganouj was absolutely terrific. My wife and I loved it. The falafel was good but about a half to quarter the size of traditional. As this was our first visit we ordered several different dishes to share. She ordered the Shish and Lamb Kabob with tabouli while I had the Gyros plate with Greek salad. The tabouli was great, while the salad lacked feta but was still good. Her plate was well portioned and both kabobs were good. Both the lamb and shish kabob were a bit dry. The gyro meat looked to be food service. A bit disappointing since I find a good rotisserie style hunk of meat to be better. Don't get me wrong it was good but the more traditional is simply better. For beverages we tried the lemonade and fresh brewed tea. The lemonade was fantastic. Really fantastic doesn't do it justice. It is hand squeezed lemon juice sweetened and in rose water. We ended up ordering a refill it was so good. The tea tasted like Lipton. Not my favorite but still nice, but I would have preferred one of the more traditional Middle Eastern styles. We were so full and took about half home. We couldn't resist the Baklava though. Easily one of the freshest and best we have ever had. Maybe decades ago in La Jolla, CA I had as good... maybe. Since we were so full we ordered 1 to split and 2 to go. The owner split the Baklava for us and gave us two pastries and two coffees as well. All were excellent. We ended up having the left overs for dinner and still had hummus, babaganouj, baklava and a pasty left over. We both highly recommend Middle Eastern Bakery. In fact she was so impressed she already broadcast the place to all her friends. I want to thank all the people at Check Please Arizona since if they hadn't reviewed it we would never have found it as it is quite a drive for us.
