Fantastic Service; Decent food.
The host, who was super friendly and accommodating, comped me a couple of drinks because some of their menu items were sold out. The sides (especially the Greens) were phenomenal. However, the beef short ribs were simply not great. The cut was very thin and there was barely any meat. The fried chicken was pretty good. I WILL be back to try some other items!
For anyone looking for authentic soul food perfectly done this is your spot. The staff are friendly and exceptionally talented. The food was out of this world. I had the whiting accompanied by greens and spiced cabbage and it was one of the finest meals I could remember. The decor is stunning and the style is absolutely phenomenal. Everything about this restaurant makes it a treasure of the Philadelphia culinary scene. Hop onto the 15 trolley and come on over. Your taste buds will be thanking you. Enjoy!
Called this restaurant after several let downs from soul food restaurants. They were closing and without a word too our order, preparers the plates with class, extraordinary service and the food was HOTT!!!! Not only was it hot, but absolutely delicious. Definitely checking this place out again.
It was a great experience! The only reason that I'm giving them 4 stars out of 5 was because the greens were a little salty. The texture and temperature was perfect π!!! Not overcooked or undercooked, just a little overly salty. I could have just had the bottom of the pot. Otherwise I loved the catfish, mac & cheese! My friends loved the smoothered pork chops, BBQ beef ribs, and cabbage π π We are from Baltimore and will be back before we go home!
I went there today...The service was great . Butter son waa niceππ A friend and I got take out. She drove i ate. The food was delicious. I will be back plus i will bring my family and a few friends by. Great job. π―π
1st time, good service, short ribs weren't bad. Going to give his baby backs a shot to make or break the 5 star.
